“Someone I loved deeply once told me that the absolute refusal to ask for help even when you’re in agony is rooted in trauma and we have been conditioned to look at it as strength.”
— Nikita Gill (via meanwhilepoetry)
“Life is a play that does not allow testing. So, sing, cry, dance, laugh and live intensely, before the curtain closes and the piece ends with no applause.”

“Don’t waste words on people who deserve your silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is nothing at all.”

"Men on average make more than women" incorrect, white women make more than racially marginalized men on average.
"In the same demographic, men on average make more than women" highly dependant on a large number of factors in other to be true, such as disability, sexuality, English-language fluency, and transness.
"If all of these factors are equal, men on average make more than women" better, getting there.
"Due to the patriarchy, employers are more likely to give offer higher salaries and more raises to those they see as men, provided those men are performing to the expectations of white-supremist society" a nuanced look at the problem that doesn't ignore the fact that it's highly conditional
Doesn't mean "wage gap isn't real" or "privilege doesn't exist". Does mean "white feminists stop leaving marginalizations out of your feminism challenge" though. And also "clarify what you mean by privilege rather than letting it exist as this vague thing because some of what you're calling privilege only works with a white, able-bodied, cis, straight, English-speaking, Christian-leaning, college-educated pov"
@worth-beyond-a-number-scale I use the term able-bodied because your brain is part of your body and brain conditions often have physical symptoms, just as physical conditions often have brain symptoms.

“Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.”
— Mandy Hale
“I’m not into convincing people I’m worthy. I’m into people who’ll convince me on my worst days that I’m still worth the world.”
