KASSANDRE WAS LOATHE TO admit that she was interested ━━ perhaps even excited, to see cain once more after many years apart. he had been a part of her childhood wanderings & playing, but her interest had dwindled upon her father’s announcement of a potential betrothal. another she would find a way to not go through with. an arrangement to meet in the glass gardens, the accompaniment of one of attendants, older, as though her watching eyes could prompt appropriate behavior from kassandre, had already soured her morning. kassandre had dallied along the grounds, normally quick strides elongated to take up as much time as possible until her attendant had grown tired of her antics. “ lord marbrand. a pleasure to make your acquaintance, ” she greeted as she swept into the gardens.
golden orbs swept over him quickly, a smile quirking the corners of her lips. “ it was about time that you grew into your ears. ”

It had been quite a long time since he had last seen Kassandre. Gods, had it really been over ten years already? The time truly did fly since he had first left Ashemark. They had been close as children, two nearly inseparable children as they had run around the grounds, no cares in the world. In a way, that was what he had still been doing up until his return. Unsurprisingly, she was late. He couldn’t shake the smirk on his face as she finally arrived, obviously irritated attendant in tow. “The pleasure is mine, Lady Lefford.” He bowed, making a show of it, his telltale smirk plastered on his features.
His own sapphire eyes met her golden ones and he raised an eyebrow, look of mock offense briefly appearing at her comment before he broke into laughter. “You know, the law dictates that you must be at least this tall to make fun of one’s appearance.” He joked, holding his arm just above her head.
