So I got a new job
So, as the title suggests, I started a new job. It’s a work from home position. But good lord, the people I work for are horrible. Also, I’m pretty sure they lied about a lot of things during my interview.
This is of course an introductory post. I’m going to rant here every time something stupid happens.
For the sake of privacy, I’m going to rename everyone I directly work with:
My boss - Let’s call them...Umbridge.
Now, my boss is actually the founder and CEO and they’re my immediate superior. However I interact with one more person, who is essentially the HR person.
Let’s call this HR person...Filch.
(If you aren’t getting it yet, I am indeed a Harry Potter fan and I’ve been re-reading the books so these are the only names on my mind).
Here’s the thing, everything is compartmentalized. Like, other than these two, I have no clue who I work with. And since it's work from home, I've legit only seen my boss. I mean, what's up with that.
I asked to have a meeting so I can see everyone and that was entirely ignored.
Anyways, hope you enjoy my rants whenever they come.
DIsclaimer: My home is lovely and doesn't feel like hell. However, those 8 hours I spend do feel like that (sometimes).
Also, those wondering why I don't quit, I can't. It's Covid times and this is the best paying job I could get right now. Plus they need a 3 month's notice when you resign AND I'm on probation for a year where they can fire me any time without warning.
Don't you just love people taking advantage of a shitty situation (Covid)?
Since I really have no choice but to work here right, I'll do it and I'll do it well. But hey, I still have to get it all out somewhere. Hello somewhere!
