Whenever I want to drown myself in ACOTAR but don’t have time to read I listen to Heaving Bossoms podcast coverage of the first 3 books. It’s just too good 😜😂😂😂

I genuinely feel nothing but dread over the idea of an ACOTAR TV series.

There is simply no way it could be done justice unless the production value rivaled Game of Thrones, a 100% chance the fandom will get even more toxic, the tags will get flooded and the community completely thrown off kilter, and SJM’s time will be split even more if she’s involved so we may never get the next books.

I’m really not trying to rain on anyone’s parade I’m so happy for the people who are excited about it, but I’m just letting it be known now that as an account I’d like to be excluded from this narrative thank yew ✌️

Rereading ACOMAF: in chapter 68 rhys asked Mor if he’d heard what feyre said and explained she’d planned on destroying tamlin’s court from the inside. I believe the quote he’s referring to is when she said, “take me home and let them go. Tell him it’s apart of the bargain and let them go.”

Am I right here? I’m so confused.

I have recently gotten into book podcasts. The number one book I see under categories such as rant reads, worst books ever, thanks I hated it, I read this so you don’t have to, is Midnight Sun. I am not surprised, I just find it funny

Starting this series again. I’m coming down off my ACOTAR high and wanted to read something familiar. While it doesn’t have the ACOTAR world, it still has tragedy, darkness, romance, and those snarly, protective males with bat wings. There are trigger warnings: pedophilia, rape, violence. This is much darker than ACOTAR. I do believe Maas got some inspiration of Cassian from this series and I’m not knocking her for it!

✨Nesta & Azriel’s friendship✨

But then Azriel approached her. Nesta had blinked at the gift the shadowsinger set in her lap. “I didn’t get you anything,” she murmured to Az, her cheeks turning rosy.

“I know,” he said, smiling. “I don’t mind.”

Cassian tried to focus on the present in his hands—the silver comb and brush set he’d gotten Mor, engraved with her name—but his gaze snagged on Nesta’s fingers as she opened the small box. She peered at what was inside, then looked at Azriel in confusion. “What is it?”

Azriel plucked up the small folded silver wand within and unfurled it. One end held a clip, the other a small glass sphere. “You can attach this to whatever book you’re reading, and the little ball of faelight will shine. So you don’t have to squint when you’re reading at night.”

Nesta touched the glass ball, no bigger than her thumbnail, and faelight flickered within, casting a bright, easy glow upon her lap. She tapped it again and it turned off. And then she jumped to her feet and flung her arms around Azriel.

The room went silent for a beat.

But Azriel chuckled and squeezed her gently. Cassian smiled to see it—to see them. “Thank you,” Nesta said, quickly pulling away to marvel at the device. “It’s brilliant.”

Azriel blushed and stepped back, shadows swirling.”

Before I read ACOSF, I truly hoped that Nesta will get to know Azriel and strike a friendship with him. Thank god I was right. Azriel was truly the only IC member who never said a word against Nesta since he met her and I knew that these two would get along. I’m so happy with their friendship and that Winter Solstice scene where Az has a gift for her was just so damn adorable🙌🏻 I was so here for Nezriel brotp♥️

Honestly, the Nesta/Azriel friendship is so much better than the Feyre/Cassian one to me. It really feels like two outcasts taking each other’s measure and silently agreeing to be allies - I just thought that was so well done.

I remember someone asking SJM in a live about if Nesta and Azriel are friends, and she said yeah but it’s not like Cassian and Feyre’s friendship. And I remember being so sad that it would probably be just a surface level acquaintance.

But no. SJM you were right. Azriel and Nesta are not at all like Cassian and Feyre’s friendship.

They’re better.

Because Azriel doesn’t quasi-worship and overly adore Nesta. He treats her as a person worthy of respect but not groveling. Theirs really is a friendship of equals and I LOVE TO SEE IT. Especially because he’s the only one, the ONLY ONE (including Nesta’s fucking MATE), who doesn’t shame, scold, belittle, or judge Nesta. He understands her rage and her need for autonomy because he shares it. Just look at how he bucks against the orders of Feysand in acosf. You can tell he HATES being commanded when it goes against what he wants to do. So surely a character like that understands Nesta pushing and pushing and pushing back against a Court that literally tells her where to live, what to eat, and how to spend her days. (And demolishes a whole ass apartment building just so she has nowhere to return to.)

Damn, how did ACOSF convert me into an Azriel simp so fast?
