Cameron was -- nervous. Very nervous. He was about to go on a date with Miles McCarthy. Sure, they’d already kissed and Miles had serenaded him, but -- it was still hard to believe. A few weeks ago, they’d hated each other. Miles was the one person in the world who could get under his skin. And now -- now he was dating him. It would have been crazy if it didn’t feel so right. After distracting himself spending by the evening picking an outfit, Cam waited nervously as the last few minutes until 7 ticked away. Finally, that knock on the door came -- and Cam opened it with his best attempt at a charming smile. “Hey,” he greeted, taking a moment to look over Miles. “You look... handsome. Ryan Gosling in the Notebook levels of handsome.” He stepped out of his apartment, pulling the door shut behind him. “And I don’t say that to just any guy.” @milesxmccarthy

After everything that had happened over the last few weeks, Cameron was hoping things would settle down and find a sense of normal. As normal as they could be, at least. And then -- then, his uncle Kurt and uncle Blaine had a very different idea. His mom had asked him to come over, and then dropped the bombshell on him -- and it felt like everything was knocked sideways again, just as he was starting to make sense of it all. He headed home, and when he glanced at the time, he realised his sister was supposed to be coming over in a few minutes. Zeke mimed zipping his mouth shut and throwing away the key, deciding to keep his thoughts on Shakespeare to himself. “Thanks, that’s me,” he murmured, before downing the rest of his drink. He smirked at Cameron’s question, leaning closer. “Definitely yours. Can’t traumatize Lucas,” he breathed, his breath fanning across Cameron’s lips.

Cameron finished his own drink, leaning into Zeke was the other boy did the same. “Alright. We’ll traumatise my roommate instead,” he replied. Whether it was the alcohol or being this close to Zeke, his body felt warm, and he couldn’t help himself as he leant in -- closing the distance between them, and capturing Zeke’s lips in a slow, certain kiss. “We should have got to mine like... five minutes ago,” he murmured, his hand resting on Zeke’s thigh as he leant in to kiss him again, more insistent this time.

Miles’ grin softened as he listened, trying his best not to stare too long. Why was it he was just realising that Cameron St. James was actually kind of super hot? Maybe his initial dislike had been clouding his judgement. He couldn’t let such a feud get in thee way of a good time though. He wasn’t that kind of guy. “Uhm, we were talking about packages. You said something about being pretty and practical. I’m not fully sure but here we are.” He shrugged before chuckling again, his eyebrows raising, “Ew. That’s so gross. Like was she into them in bed? Like sex-wise? Or did she just like you to have soft, manicured feet?”

“Oh, yeah. All that stuff was just prep for the bedroom stuff. It was... truly the bad place.” He wrinkled his nose at the memory, though he couldn’t help the laughter bubbling up in him. It was most probably just the alcohol, but Cameron felt lighter and brighter than he had in days. He was about to continue when he heard his name being hollered, and glanced over to the boys’ bowling lane -- they were clearly done with waiting for him to take his turn. “I think we’re up,” he commented, nodding towards the lane. “Careful when we head back over there. If an up-draft gets you, you’ll be off Mary Poppins style with all those umbrellas.”

The girls looked like they were having fun, even if Saskia also had a pinched look on her face that made him feel like someone had pissed in her favourite Louboutins or something. “Ouch. But I know an opening when I see it,” he said, turning back to Cam and biting his lip. “Oh, I live to serve. I’m just so giving in that way.”

“Next thing I know, you’ll be saying you don’t like Shakespeare. And then we’d really have a problem.” Watching Saskia for a moment, Cam bit his lip -- trying to work out what he was feeling. The break-up had been tough for a number of reasons, but he definitely didn’t feel regret, even now things were settling down. “We stan a generous man,” he replied almost automatically, before looking back to Zeke. Zeke was right. Seduction was inefficient. “Yours or mine?”

Cam let himself watch Miles as he pretended to stare away -- glancing back down to where his drink was once Miles looked back. He’d never noticed how cute Miles’ smile was -- probably because Miles had never smiled around him before. “Remind me how we got to this conversation?” he asked with a laugh, shaking his head as he took a long sip from his drink. “Honestly, man, feet freak me out. I dated a girl once who was like... super into them. Kept making me wear slippers with loads of moisturiser, it was like walking through mud everywhere. Never again. Zero out of ten, do not recommend. I’m purely an ankle upwards kind of guy now.”
