Trails of fire - Chapter 4
Zendaya Pov
after the long day she had she was so tired she immediately wanted to go to bed and sleep, but there was going to be a big chance she was gonna see Chris and he is the last person she wants to see today.
she pulled up in her driveway and got all of her stuff out of the car. she walked in to the house and heard the tv from the fronts door.
as she walked further she kept praying that it wasn't Chris.
'hey' she heard when she walked into the living room
'shit' she whispered
she turned around and give him a dry look and tried to walk to the stairs as fast as she could but chris stopped her in her tracks by softly pulling on her arm
'what do you want chris im tired' she said without looking at him
'i just wanna talk to you, you have been moody lately loosen up man'
it took her a second to realize what he just said. she turned around and looked at him as if he had just lost his damn mind
'me moody... i know you just didn't say that to me' she said with attitude
'what do you mean, im just stating fact, come sit down so we can talk for a bit'
'yeah no'
she tried walking up the stairs again and got stopped by chris again
'what is your issue' he said with a hard tone
'first of all lower that tone i aint your child, and second you gotta stop asking me what the problem is, now are we done?'
'no im not done, im just trying to figure out why you are so mad all the time, every time I come home you already in a mood and i didn't even do nothin'
she raised her eyebrows and thought about what she was going to say without regretting it
'listen, i just came back from a peaceful day, that is why zink took the kids for the week to give me some peace, and now here you come talkin about my ass being moody, i dont feel like arguing with you. so if you dont mind my moody ass is going to lay down, so that i can take care of MY KIDS in the morning, thank you very much.' she said and walked up the stairs
he followed her upstairs to their bedroom
'what do you mean MY KIDS , why are talking as i dont take care of my kids, you dont make sense' he said
she ignored him and continued to do her thing on her phone
He took the phone out off her hands and threw it on the floor
'are you crazy!' she picked it up and saw a couple of cracks
'i was talkin to you'
'so just because you were talking doesn't mean you should throw my phone you dumbass'
"Ay man stop cursing at me, you gonna answer my question?'
'no, go figure it out, how about that' she said
'you know what you can also do is get the fuck out cause your pissing me off, and isn't this the time you rather go hang out with your friends anyways' she said and pushed him out of the door and locked him out of their bedroom
Chris Pov
'pfff' he huffed as he was standing by their bedroom door
he decided to let this stupid argument be for what it is
he went to each of the children's room and gave them a kiss before he left to go to the studio
when he arrived at the studio, he immediately went to the booth to record.
but he was making mistakes every time he tried to sing his songs
he didn't even notice that his best friend come in who stopped the session
'ayo chris take a break man'
chris took off his headphone and got out of the boot, his producer walked out of the room so that he could give them space to talk
'wassup man you haven't been good these last couple of weeks whats goin on?'
'man...me and the wife haven't been good lately.. im not getting through her'
'what's happening?'
hey starts telling his side of the story
after a long day at work all he wanted to do was go home to be with his wife and the kids
"hey queen" he greeted her with a kiss
"hey babe I gotta show you something in the kitchen" she said with excitement
she took his hand and brought him to the kitchen, he saw a bag with balloons attached to it
"oooh a gift for me" he said like a little kid
"hahaha yass, now open it please"
he took all of the colored paper out of the bag and saw a red box in it, he opening the bag and saw a shirt and another small box in it. he decided to open the box first and saw a pregnancy bag, his eyes went big ad he looked at her, he then took the shirt and read what was on there
"baby..are..you" he couldn't even finish his words
"yass we are having another baby" she said with tears in her eyes
he came up to her and hugged her, he was so happy he couldn't believe that they were having another baby
he pulled up her shirt and started giving her kisses on her stomach.
a couple weeks later
Chris decided that it was good idea to go on a date. they got ready for their date and waited for his mother to come so they could leave.
Chris heard the doorbell ring and went downstairs to open the door
"hey hun" his mother hugged him
"hey mom"
his mom went to hug they kids as Chris waited for Zendaya to come down so they could leave. after a couple of minutes she came down stairs
'ooh you look hot' he took her hand and spins her around
'thank you' she said and blushed
she greeted her mother in law and they left
they was enjoying themselves at the restaurant, they talked about everything. they talked about the baby, new projects, the kids ext.
when they arrived home Daya started to feel cramps, but this one was different it was something she hasn't felt before. as the time went by they became heavier, she told Chris and they asked his mother if she could stay longer and would tell her everything later
he carried her to the car and drove her to the ER
they went inside and helped her, he waited and prayed that everything was okay. after waiting for 1 hour the nurse took him to her room so that he could see her.
he went over to her and gave her a hug and at next to her on the bed
the doctor came to her room so he could talk to them
"is the baby okay" they both asked
"so we have done some test and we have done an ultrasound to check everything and unfortunately the baby didn't make it im sorry" the doctor said
when he heard these words, he felt like his world was ending. he couldn't handle the pain he felt. he felt like somebody took something away from him and thats when everything went wrong
Chris started to work more to get rid of the hurt from that event, and she talked less. they never talked about that moment because of how painful it was. they started to see each other less, they was always fighting and haven't had a normal conversation since..
'wow man thats a lot, yall gotta talk fr fr cause this is not good, and not only for the 2 of you but also for the kids man'
'i know, but i dont even know if i can go back to the house man she send me out' he said and took a sip of his water
'you can always stay at my house, that ain't no problem'
'thank you man.. i feel like going out, you in?'
'yh but you better dont do things you will regret, cause my ass aint finna be responsible' he said and they left
they were havin fun, well chris was having more fun as he was a little drunk
they were just chilling in their section when a girl tried talking to chris, he kept ignoring her.
he stood up to leave, cause she was starting to piss him off.
he walked to his car and she followed him
'what do you want man' he said irritated
'just give me your number and a kiss and i will leave' she said seductively
'hell no im good' and tried to get in his car
just when she saw a paparazzi she took her chance and took his face and kissed him
he didint kiss her back and pushed her away
'why would you do that man, whats you issues!' he said angrily
he got in his car and drove off
'shit!' he huffed
he drove to his friends house and thought about what he was going to explain to his wife....
Trails of fire - Chapter 3
Daya Pov - the next day
i woke up feeling exhausted from last night, I look to my left and see that Chris is still asleep. I finally decide to stand up so I could go to the bathroom and do my morning routine.
as I am showering all of the stuff that was said last night and all of the stuff that has been happening for the past couple of months kept flooding in my mind.
"Chris, where were you today?"
"i had a meeting"
"I know thats not a excuse but im sorry"
"I care about y'all every single day"
" all you do is work, work and work some more"
" you always come home withe the same damn excuse!"
"I go to work and bust my ass of for all of us and it is not a excuse its the truth!"
"is there somebody else!"
"ooh so now you think im cheating on you"
"I dont even recognize you anymore"
I keep asking myself the same question everyday "am I really happy in this marriage? - no, but do I love him yes with everything in me."
my tears starts to come down and I couldn't control them anymore.
after a 30 minutes I got out of the shower and decides that I had to get out of the house and do something for myself.
I wrote a small note letting him know that I was going out for today and left it on his nightstand.
Chris Pov
i woke up and looked to my right and saw it was empty
"where could she be" I thought
I turned around so I could take my phone from the nightstand and saw a note that said:
" im out for the day"
he stood up from the bed and went to get ready for the day
he then went downstairs and took his cars keys from the table and got in his car and decides to go and see the kids today.
after a 20 min drive he arrived at Zink's house (Daya cousin) and knocked on the door
after a couple of secondes he saw someone coming to the door and open it
"hey man come in" zink husband said
"hey man" he greeted back and dapped him
"how have you been?" he asked and walked him to the living room where Zink and the kids where
"I've been busy how about you"
" busy as well-" he got cut of by 2 kids yelling Chris name
"DADDY" the ran up to him
he bends down and picked them up and gave them kisses
"are we going home today?" Royalty ask eagerly
"yes" he said and put them down
"uncle can you help us with our stuff please"
"yess let go" he said and walked with the to the stairs
"im sorry for not calling and picking them up early" he apologized
"no its fine, how are you anyways?"
"im good I just been really busy with my music"
"ah thats good anything new your working on"
"no not yet but im working with other artist right now" (which is kinda true)
"lets go daddy" Royalty said
"say bye to your aunty and uncle"
they said there goodbyes and then went to the car
"so what do y'all wanna do today" he turned around so he could look at them
"buy new toys" Royalty said looking at him with puppy dog eyes
"mhh..let me think about it" he said playfully
"please daddy" the kids said
"okay lets go"
"yaaaaay!"
he started the car and they left
Daya Pov (couple of hours later*)
im at the nail salon getting my nails done and scrolling through my phone when I get a call from Chris that I decided not to pick up, because you never know where this conversation is gonna go its either a argument or him making up without a apology
he called a couple more times, and then I saw a text from him saying
"I called you to ask where you were and that me and the kids are home"
she rolled her eyes at the text cause he aint been letting her know where he has been and know he is asking her, and she asked her cousin Zink to watch the kids for a reason so that she can have a little alone time from all of the stress she been having
she was thinking if she should text back or not, after a minute of thinking she decided to text back.
"im out, I will be back later tonight"
when she was finally done with her nails, she payed and thanked her nail tech and left to go in her car.
she then got a text from her best friend Deja asking if she wanted to meet up for dinner and some drinks. she replied and went to the restaurant they were about to meet up at.
she arrived and went inside
"hey girl how are you" they hugged each other and sat down
"im good and you?"
"hello welcome to happy Italy, im your server for today can I get you something to drink" the waiter said
"can I get a coke please"
"a ice thea please"
"okay i will be right back with your order" they thanked him and he left
"now how are you really?"
"im good" she told her trying to convince her
"and now without the fake smile that your pulling on me"
just when she was about to answer her the waiter came back with their drinks
"thank you"
"are y'all ready to order?"
they said their order and went back to her conversation
"to be honest with you....I havent been good lately, me and Chris have been distance lately, its hard for me to do my job when I always taking care of the kids when Chris is gone and im just super stressed about it all. I told Chris I wanted a nanny for when we are both gone but he didn't even wanna think about it cause he wanted us both to be there which I totally understand, but he is hardly there"
"girl I knew a bit of what was going on because you told me but I didn't know it was like this now, have y'all been going out together or anything"
"no the last time we went out was like 5 almost 6 months ago and then everything went downhill from there"
"but what took y'all to this point y'all was so happy before all of this happend, and have you told anyone else"
"well I only told zink everything that happend but I rather discuss it with you somewhere private not in public"
"we can't go to my apartment if your not comfortable"
she agreed and took their food to go
after a 20 min drive they arrived at Deja's apartment. they went inside and made themselves comfortable
"whenever your ready im listening"
"well like I said it all happend about 5/6 months ago a few weeks before that I didn't feel good, and I remember those feelings cause thats how I felt when I was pregnant with Royalty so decided to take a test..
i waited for the minutes to be over but the longer I kept looking at the clock the longer it took, after a minute or 2 the timer finally started ringing and I went to look at the test at it was positief
"omggg..." she looked at the test with tears in her eyes
she picked up her phone and decided to call up her doctor to make a appointment, the doctor said she could come now cause they had a spot free
luckily for her she was home alone. she went to go get her bag and her keys and went to the doctor
when she arrived at the doctor, they did all the test and confirmed her that she was indeed pregnant and she was 4 weeks . she then went to the mall to get some cute gifts so she could announce the news to Chris
on her way home she also picked up the kids and waited for Chris to come home.

Zendaya finally had a break from everything. No photo shoot, no meeting, no filming or interviews. She was super happy about this as Christmas was approaching, she could now finally be at home with her family to celebrate Christmas.
She and Darnell were putting up all the last-minute Christmas decorations around the house while listening to music.
As time passed, her family members were slowly coming in. Her aunts were in the kitchen heating up the food.
While all that was happening, Zendaya went to get dressed for tonight's event with her family. She was sitting by her vanity and put on a necklace that Tom gave her for her birthday this year.
she misses him. Tom couldn't make it for Christmas this year because he was on set reshooting some of his scenes. and he wouldn't be in LA until after the New Year.
Her thoughts got paused by a knock on her door.
'Everybody is here and the food is ready, you coming?' Darnell asked her
'Yes I am' she responded.
she stood up and walked towards her door. Darnell immediately noticed that something was off that she was not telling him.
'Are you okay?' he asked
'yes I am' she said with a fake smile
'mhh I know you better than that, so what's wrong?'
'it's just that i..miss Tom... I just wish he could have been here for Christmas, and I can't call him right now because he is in a middle of a scene' she said disappointed
' i know but, he will be here before you know it. Now let's go and enjoy tonight with your family' he reassured her
They both walked down the stairs and Zendaya started to great her family members
Hours went by and the family was now sitting by the tall Christmas tree that was in the living room so that they can open their presents.
So far Zendaya received a new necklace from her mom's new collection, a new pair of heels from her sister, and a new bag from Darnell.
" Okay I think that was all of the gifts" she said as she looked at the empty Christmas tree
"Wait there is one more" Darnell said and gave her a small bag
She opened the bag and saw a note and 3 boxes
" sorry I couldn't be there in person this year for Christmas. I still wanted to give you a gift that I know you will like! Merry Christmas!"

"Tom wanted to gift you something and since he couldn't be here in person, he told me to give it to you," Darnell said
She opened the boxes and was shocked to see what was in them.
"What is it? " her mother asked her
"It's a matching necklace, bracelet, and earrings. He even engraved my name on the bracelets!" she said excitedly
" This is the exact set I saw a couple of months ago, I guess he saw me looking at it and he remembered"
"That is so sweet of him," her sister said
Everybody started cleaning up so that they could slowly leave and go home
After an hour of cleaning and saying bye to everybody, she finally went upstairs and did her nightly routine so that she could go to bed
She lay in bed and took her phone out so that she could text Tom.
"Hey babe, thank you for the gifts I love them!"
"No problem, I saw you looking at them a couple of months ago so I had to get them for you! How was it with your family today?"
"You remembered!" "It was fun! We danced, played games, opened gifts and ate so much food! Can you facetime right now?"
"Great to hear, no I won't be able to I'm needed on set in like 2 minutes"
"I wish you were here"
"I know babe, but don't worry I will be back before you know it. I will be there after New Year's"
"Pff I know"
" will call you later I have to be on set again. I love you"
"Okay love you too"
She locked her phone and went to sleep.
The next morning she woke up to the smell of food filling up her room.
She did her morning routine and put on her robe to go downstairs.
She thought that it was maybe Darnell just making breakfast for the 2 of them but when she opened her bedroom door she saw red and white rose petals on the ground leading her to go downstairs.
She follows the rose petals and found herself in the kitchen.
She was vases of roses all over the tables, breakfast, drinks on the counter, balloons, and tons of gifts.
She rubbed her eyes and looked around to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
She saw everything, but nobody but her was in the kitchen.
She walked to the counter and smelled the flowers.
All of a sudden a pair of hands covered her eyes.
"Guess who" the person said
She took the hands away from her eyes and turned around.
She was too stunned to speak, she just hugged him and gave him a big kiss.
"Oh... But I thought... You said... And Darnell" she couldn't even finish her sentence she was just too shocked at the fact that Tom was standing right in front of her in her kitchen.
"I finished filming yesterday morning but it was hard to catch a flight, so I took one in the afternoon so I could surprise you in the morning" he smiled
"Omg I'm so happy you're here! How long are you staying?" she asked still hugging him
"Mid January"
"Ready to open more gifts?"
" oh my yesterday was already enough and you got more!?" she laughed
"Hey it's Christmas, a good time to get more spoiled!" he said and smiled
They both let go of each other and looked above them and saw a mistletoe above them.
All of a sudden they hear Darnell yell from upstairs
"Kiss each other already!" he said and walked back to his room
They both laughed and kissed each other
"Merry Christmas babe" she said
"Merry Christmas" he said and kissed her on her forehead as they stood in the middle of the kitchen.
Trails of fire - Chapter 2
1 week later
Daya Pov
yesterday she made plans with her best friend and her cousin to have a girls day. before going to bed she picked out her clothes and prepared her bag for the next day
she was going to make sure that Chris was not in her way of her plans cause she didn't wanna cancel on the only day she could have a girls day.
but when she woke up Chris was gone, she stood up and went to check up on the kids.
she made them ready for the day and then brought them to the kitchen to get breakfast ready.
she saw a note on the island table from Chris saying that he had to run some errands and that he would be home by 12pm
"he better" she thought.
"mommy can I help make breakfast" her daughter asked
"of course you can" and picked her up so that she could sit on the table
"can we listen to some music please"
"sure what do you wanna listen to"
"mhh....daddy's music please!" she said really excited
"okay princess" she laughed at her excitement
she turned on her speaker and put undecided on and started cooking
Chris pov
he finally got out of his meeting and now he has to go to the studio and then he is going to run the rest of his errands. he was trying to be fast so that he can be back by 12 pm so that Daya could go out with her cousin and her friend.
he arrived at the studio and mad a B line to the booth so that they can start immediately
he has been in the studio a lot she that he can finish his new secret album that only the people who was and are always in the studio know about
he wants everybody including his wife the be surprised by the masterpiece he has been working on for the past months.
for weeks he has been working on 4 songs that are dedicated to his wife and his kids he wanted these 4 songs to be perfect and special
he couldn't tell Daya why he was always so late and e know he has been making her mad lately but he is going to make it up to her.
3 hours later
its now 12:15 pm and Daya is supposed to leave right now but he is not here, she called him 3 times already but its keep going to voicemail.
she can't ask nobody right now because her parents are not in town, his parents are on vacation for their anniversary and their nanny had to quit cause she had to move.
she was getting more and more irritated as the minute goes by cause this is not the first time he did this.
it was now 1 pm she already called the girls to tell them that she had to cancel her plans with them
she heard a knock on the door and went to open it
when she openend it she saw her best friend Deja and her cousin Zink
"we couldn't leave you alone with the kids so we came to help and keep you company" Zink said
"thank you girls thats really nice y'all really didn't have to"
"but we want to we knew how much you wanted some time to yourself with us" Deja said
"i don't know what I would have doen with out y'all" she sight and gave them a hug
they went to the living room to sit down and have a girl talk
"where are my babies?" zink asked
"they are taking a nap they should be awake soon"
"girl what has been going on you don't look okay" Deja asked
"to be honest with you Deja I havent been for a while" she wanted to lie and tell her she was okay but at this point she couldn't even put on a front and tell that everything has been going well when they havent
"what happend"
"I don't even know one day we were happy with each other and now all we do is fight we don't even have normale conversations anymore. I feel like I have tried everything and im tired of trying and making efforts in our marriage" she said as a tear fell
"like today I told him I was going out today and he knew that but were is he not here he didn't even call to let me know but he only left a note. he did the same thing last week and I had to cancel my job."
Deja who sat next to her gave her a big hug one she has been needing for a while
while she was hugging her she didn't realize that she was actually crying
"ooh babe" Zink and Deja said and Zink wiped away her tears
"when he comes home try to sit him down and let him understand that you need him to work with you in this marriage" Deja said
"how about this I have 2 weeks off right now, let me take the kids for a week, while you take some time off and do all the stuff that you need to do" her cousin said
"that would be amazing Zink thank you so much"
they all hear a noise from the baby monitor and see that the baby is awake.
"i will go get them" Deja said
"I will make some lunch" Zink said
she thanked them and smiled.
Hours later
Chris was finally done with his studio session and turned his phone on and saw that it was 15 pm
he immediately got out of the booth and and picked up his stuff
"i got to go man" he dapped him up and left
he got in his car and left to go home. while he was driving on the freeway his car started to act up so he pulled up to the side.
he tried starting up his car but It wouldn't turn on even after a couple of tries. so he called the roadside assistance.
after waiting for the 30 they finally came and helped him with his car and fixed the problem in 15 minutes. he thanked them and they left
before starting up the car he tried calling Daya but she didn't pick up the phone so he went home to see if she was still there
he arrived home and parked his car in the garage.
he got out of his car and locked it and also closed his garage door.
when he opened the door he could hear people laughing. he followed where the laughter was coming from.
he went to the living room and saw the kids, his wife, her best friend and her cousin
"hey guys"
"daddy!" Royalty ran up to him
"hey princess" he gave her a lot of kisses making her giggle and then put her down so that he greet the women in the room
"hey Chris" the girls hugged him
"hey Deja and Zink"
he went over to Daya and gave her a kiss on her head
"uhh im about to leave Royalty go get your shoes please" Zink said
"where are they going" Chris asked confused
"they are going to stay over at my house for the week to gave y'all some time for yourself"
"okay then"
deja, Zink and they kids all said their goodbyes and left
Chris and Daya sat in a awkward silence, and then Daya decided to speak
"Chris, where were you today?"
"i had a meeting, a studio session and I had to run some errands. im so sorry I was trying to make it on time cause I knew you had to go out today but the studio session took longer than what I had planned and then something as wrong with my car and I had to stop I know thats not a excuse but im sorry" he said and looked at her
she looked shocked to hear the words "im sorry"
"why do you look so shocked"
"cause I haven't heard you say the word "im sorry" in a long while"
"but Chris i need you to listen, I don't know what is going on with us but one moment we're happy and now all we do is fight this is the first time in moths since we had a normal conversation. I feel like im the only on making effort in this marriage and all you do is care about yourself" she said
"I only care about myself since when, I care about y'all every single day"

Chris just finished his interview in New York to promote his new single that just came out
And is now driving to his hotel room to rest before he had to go back to California that same day
When he arrived to his hotel room he decided to call Zendaya, she picked up after the third ring

“Hey babe, it went good how is my baby” he said with a big smile on his face
“The baby is doing good but I think the baby is missing you” she said while showing her bump

They then went to the car on were deciding on what to eat. After 5 min they decided to order food and watch a movie and call it a day.
**Saturday **
Chris woke up early to make sure that everything was gonna go perfect for today.
You see today it was their anniversary and he was gonna ask her to marry him.
All of their family members were gonna be their too but they only know that it is a surprise baby shower
Chris went downstairs and started to make breakfast for the both of them.
He had cooked all of the food that he knew she like when it come to breakfast.
He put some rose petals in the kitchen all the way to their room

I just got out of the shower and went to our room to see what I could wear when I see boxes on our bed

I woke up not feeling to well today, and I have been feeling like this for the past week now.
At first I thought that it was just food poisoning or a cold so I just let it be, until my mom told me to make an appointment with the doctors
So I got out of bed when I see that Chris left me a note saying that he was at work and that he would see me tonight when he comes back
I went to the shower and did my normal routine, after i was done i went downstairs to try to eat something while I was waiting on my mom
After 5 min I finally got a text from my mom saying that she is outside waiting. I locked up the house and hopped in my mom’s car.

'Hey Daya how you are you feeling now’ her mom said while she was driving
'Well I do feel better than yesterday, but I don’t feel all the way great’
They kept making some small talks while the music was playing softly in the background
After 15 min of driving they finally arrived at the hospital. Her mom parked the car and then they went to the reception

'okay can you fill out this form for me please’
After filling out the formulier and a 10 minute wait she finally got called for her appointment

They went to the room the nurse showed them and waited for the doctor to come

'I have a headache, been nauseous and I have been really tired lately’

All she got to do now is find a excuse to buy him another gift for tonight after they come back from dinner.

Chris and daya were getting ready to go out to dinner with the family for his birthday
It has been so hard for her to keep the secret to her self, she really just wanted to blurt it out but she also wanted to make it special for him as it is also his birthday
She asked her friend Deja if she could decorate the living room a bit to make it look cute for the surprise.
They finally finished getting ready and hopped in the car to their destination
After a 25 min drive they finally arrived at the restaurant and greeted all of there family and close friends and had a really good time
After hours of spending time with their family and close friends it was finally time for everybody to go home
Chris thanked everybody for coming and then everybody went there separate ways.
Chris and Daya finally arrived home from the diner. the closer they reached the front door the more nerveus she was getting
Chris turned on the light from the living room and saw ballons in the color pink and blue, and some gifts on their coffee table
'When did you do all of this’ he asked shocked
'Well I asked Deja to come decorate it a bit before we come home’
They sat on the couch while he opened all of his gifts
'Thanks Daya for all of the gifts’ he said and gave her a kiss
'You’re welcome but I have one more gift for you’
She took a box from behind the couch and gave it to him. He opened it to find a a shirt that said “#1 Dad!”
He was so shocked he had to do a double check to make sure he was reading it right

He then put her down and touched her stomach and started to talk to the baby

That just made her tear up, she knew from that moment that he was going to be a good dad and is going to love their baby with everything he had.
