Unplanned outfit ensemble at the RVR Siklab Awards 2023. Styled myself with Mindanao-fabric coords. Thank God the outfit resulted well at the last minute!

Since I’m just attending as a guest, I didn’t want to look extra but at the same time still wanted to look fashionable. I found the Filipiniana bolero at a local shop in Makati, whose designer is surprisingly from Marawi City - hence the idea of putting together Mindanao pieces just hours before the event. Thanks to my hoarding of patterned stuff back in Mindanao, the outfit came well ✨

The hope that I profess

January 24, 2022.

This day was crappy. My sister and I had a fight. I confronted mom. All because of FRUSTRATIONS.

Mom even told me that my attitude was becoming like that of my father (context: my dad was a little bit ‘maldito’, easily-angered). Probably true. To be confronted of your ugliness, of course, it’s hard to swallow, difficult to face.

But I am reminded of the Truth that “it is finished”, says God. HE HAS WON THE VICTORY, and that’s NOT my destiny. Even my father, it’s not his destiny. Whatever negative we see, in our sinful self, in others, in this world, whatever evil thing you can think of, it has been defeated at the Cross by Christ. My prayer is that joy would overflow because of this -- that we’d choose to BELIEVE and to HOPE --  that in and above all things, Jesus said, “It is finished.” (John 29:30).

Familiar yet foreign

It's been months since I'm back in the hometown. A lot has changed and somehow it also feels nostalgic. Didn't knew it's possible to feel 'new' to a place so familiar, and to feel old (😅) to a place you've spent your youngers years in. (San Lorenzo South, September 2021)
