As a citizen of the United States I am devastated at the division in this country. I am speechless at the fact that bigotry, misogyny, and homophobia have been allowed to win.

As a biracial, bisexual woman I am heartbroken and, honestly, I am tired of trying to establish and maintain that I and those I love are people who deserve the same rights as cis-gendered, straight, white men.

But despite everything that has happened and will happen, now is the time to come together. We cannot afford to remain divided. Our futures and the future of this country are at stake.

I am simply and uselessly sad, but I refuse to give up before the real fight has begun.
