So. College is a thing.
In other words, night is just daytime without the sun and I'm running consistently on 4 hours of sleep or less. Anyone who says art school isn't hard will be promptly falcon-punched in the face by yours truly. I won't be back until November 22nd. (I fly back on the 20th but my flight is at 6 am, so I'm giving myself a day or two to catch my breath). Sorry for falling off the face of the earth ^^; Sincerely, A very tired Edea/Roxas/Larxene-mun

At soles lies the formidable fiend, now subdued by a skillful hand. And for once, not of his own. Thankful for her prowess, the threat of her coming to harm diminishes to nil. Too often is he left with the role of guardian for those left defenceless—— a responsibility accepted graciously yet with a latent reluctance as of late. When life may potentially slip into limbo, risks are to be evaluated, and the choice was usually regretful. Whether it was wise to come to aid or not was a decision which he commonly faces. Though, perhaps such selflessness is a natural aspect of his being, within blood runs the aspiration to protect the feeble. She is most certainly not of that demographic, nor does he mind. Much of the burden that accompanied was taxing, even for one as fit as he.

In truth, Edea herself had thought that she would perish. Her first attacks might as well have been pin-pricks to that beast, causing more fury than they did harm, for Ise-No-Kami is meant for much smaller opponents with much softer hides.
Well, it had been.
Edea might have reached for her blade moments before, but it had been a mere bluff, for the blade of her katana had shattered mid- battle. Still, perhaps damage could yet be done with what little remained, but she prays that no further fighting will be required of her.
From this strange man’s words, however, it sounds like she might not end up so lucky.

Nightmare

Ringabel’s heart aches as Edea continues to care for his pitiful self, her fingertips pressing into the hard, tense knots of his trembling back. Though he keeps his wet eyes still shut and against her, he cannot mistake the comforting feeling of her soft lips on him and his heart feels so heavy despite the light of the Angel’s kiss.
And at her quiet words, the feeling of dread and despair returns and seems to sink his heart and soul to the depths of the ocean, drowning him when the surface had been so close.
Edea didn’t know. Didn’t know what terrors haunted him in his little sleep, didn’t know the coward of a man he had been or the memories that he had remembered at last, didn’t know who he is–was–to her, didn’t know how much he truly loved her–
Didn’t know he was the reason she was dead, and here the coward had nearly let it all out with useless apologies that could change nothing. Here the coward was, crying and being comforted by the one he had let be slaughtered when it was about her demise he had been crying out about. Edea Lee didn’t know, but he knew her too well that she’d want to know what was hurting her dear friend so. That was what he loved about her, and what he feared. She hated cowards that couldn’t protect their friends and loved ones, and he had failed them all.
Ringabel was a despicable man, knowing he should tell her the truth and be rejected like he knew he deserved, but he knew he would not be able to handle such a heartbreak and especially in such a fragile state that balanced on a very thin wire sure to snap with any wrong movements.
You. It was one tiny little word, all he needed to say–should say, but it couldn’t come out without visions of the girl in his arms in different time and place. Instead, Ringabel swallows down a sob threatening to be heard and shakes his head as he holds her tighter.

Yes, she truly does not know what haunts him so. Earlier in their journey together, “shut up” was every third and fourth word from her mouth to him. Now, those two little words have been replaced with “please, speak” – but she says them only in her mind. She hasn’t said them aloud just yet, in hopes that he might at least talk to someone else, if not her.
But it is clear to her now that Ringabel will not talk unless forced to.
Yes, Edea hates cowards who won’t protect their loved ones – those who attempt and ultimately cannot, however, are another matter entirely. For hasn’t she been unable to protect her own family from slaughter, and by her own hand no less? Hasn’t she been unable to make them see how badly the world needs Agnès Oblige, vestal of wind, and the crystals light?
Edea will never blame him for trying and failing. She will only blame him for not trying, as she would anyone else.
She pulls away enough and shifts so that their faces are level with one another, winter eyes stern, yet sincere. Demanding… yet pleading.
❝ Can’t, or won’t? ❞
Edea Lee has never been known for her gentle nature.
❝ How long do you intend to hold your silence, Ringabel? How long do you intend to suffer like this, shouldering the burden of whatever this is that haunts you so on your own? Because however long it is, I’ll not stand for it! ❞
If it were not the dead of night, she would be shouting now – but the fierceness loaded with each word shall have to make up for what her voice currently lacks in volume.
//Finally on to do replies! I ended up being brain dead after work, and I spent most of the day out of the house, so now I’m finally on.
//I was going to do some replies, and then of course my mom had to come bother me some more. Won’t have time before I have to leave.
