"Yet!" Ted called back. "No one is panicking yet!" He shuffled his way into the kitchen, opening and closing various drawers as he looked for a lighter.
Hearing him opening things, Jenny paused her work to stare at her father. "Daddy, can I have a cookie?"
"What?" Ted stopped long enough to look at his daughter. "No. Eat your broccoli. Greens are good for you."
Jenny scowled at her plate. As soon as Ted's back was turned, she slowly pushed her plate towards Greenlee, a small smile on her face as she whispered, "It's good."
"Your manic energy is the perfect counter to my indifference." Joon grinned, taking a sip of her drink.
Greenlee was more than amused by the proposition. "Well," she whispered, "He did say Greens are good for you and I'm Green. I'll take them off your hands." When she was sure Ted was too distracted by the lights out, she started eating the broccoli one piece at a time.
Meanwhile Gordon had gone missing from the table. As soon as Ted found the lighter and flicked it to life, he found a tiny toddler Gordon standing eerily in front of him. How had he gotten there so fast?
"C-c-c-cookie." He struggled to get the word out, pointing to Jenny.
Joon took the last piece of broccoli off of Jenny's plate and popped it in her mouth to hide it.
"Oh no, am I losing the peppy attitude? Do I need to start telling dad jokes and singing love songs to bring it back up? Don't you worry though, when you're around, I'll make sure to double my happy vibe. We've got a nice balance here and tipping the scales one way or the other might throw off the axis of the planet."
"You get peppier? Dear lord, we're all doomed."
"Wouldn't mind the dad jokes though. I miss hearing those. My dad is notorious for them. You practicing for when you knock up Morris?"

It wasn't often that Ted had company over, so it figured that the one time he did, the power would go out. He quickly went to work, scooping up every candle and flashlight he could find.
"No one panic!" he called out, clearly panicking himself. "It'll all be fine! I'm sure it'll come back on any second!"
Jenny, of course, was completely unbothered. The pigtailed girl didn't even look up from blowing bubbles in her milk as he father rushed about, the patterings of his feet mixing with her loud giggles.
"Ted, no one is panicking but you." Joon sighed, a fond smile on her lips as she watched him fret about.
Greenlee had her wheelchair parked at the table, being a bad influence and showing Jenny and Gordon how to blow bubbles in their milk as a distraction.
"It's weird. I felt this rush of Christmas spirit and then it got sucked away real fast. Which extra doesn't make sense since it's only August..."
"Yeah, you know, you kinda look different without the jolly atmosphere." Joon said, making a face at him. "I mean, it's a good look. You're too jolly for me anyway. Though I do love our grumpy cat and excited puppy dynamic. Keep that up. I look bitchier by comparison and that pleases me."
