A highly underrated trope:
Enemies to lovers but ‘i never despised you’
that’s just it’s always been you with ~~misunderstanding~~
Andrew really said "You're interesting, and traumatized. I'm going to keep you."
See, out of all the characters i could have ‘become’ for the next few weeks after reading the All For The Game series, i had to become Andrew Minyard.
But i have no regrets.
Because ‘ Andrew doesn't believe in regret; he says regret is grounded in shame and guilt, neither of which serves any real purpose. ’
Enemies to lovers but:
“I didn't think I was a personal problem. You hate me, remember?"Â
"Every inch of you," Andrew said. "That doesn't mean I wouldn't blow you."
constantly floored by how much nikandros loves damen. damen is brought back to them bound, emotionally devastated and numb. nikandros handles a fragile damen with such gentleness and care: he comforts and stabilizes him, understands his emotional state immediately, protects him from others, and breaks through his emotional fog with calmness and practicality:
IM CRYINGGGGG
When you recommend a book to someone you thought would enjoy it as much as you did.
But they didn't.
In fact.
They hated it.
(Keep in mind they like all the other books you read and so you thought you both had the same taste in books. But i guess not...)
‘Sometimes I think that if we knew all we should be more glad to get away.‘
- Dr Lanyon
Song lyrics are the most underrated pieces of literature.
So, I've just read the entirety of "Captive Prince" trilogy in three days and let me tell you I'm enchanted with the way Laurent specifically was written.
Honestly, when I started reading, I had no idea how these two will actually fall in love, but I guess that's magic of enemies-to-lovers trope if executed well. As I said, Laurent himself is written amazingly. The way his self-hatred makes its presence known through little cracks here and there but he then slowly started to believe in Damen and their relationship. The conflict they both have is heavy: to hate each other because of the past or to indulge in the feelings that were just a typical desire at the beginning and only grew into trust and love.
And the way Damen and Laurent communicate also fascinates me. They talk about things, but so many things are left hanging in the air for other's interpretation and these two started to know each other so well sometimes they don't even need to exchange words. You can feel their love for each other near the end, they don't even need to say "I love you" to each other in order for a reader to know that.
I enjoyed this a lot and am still fascinated.

Anyone else shipping Damon and Will.... like really hard.
i think the phrase ‘drunk words are sober thoughts’ sums up pretty much all of Cardan in his relationship with Jude.
