The "Crop Top" Armor. Based on design by Valerio Schiti
I can proudly present my Magnus Opus: The Crop top Armor! This bad boy has been my labour of love for the past year and I'm SUPER happy with how it turned out :D
I am a very big Valerio Stan, I adore all his art and designs, but his tony has always been my particular favourite. As soon as I saw his original Iron man suit design I swooned :O The "crop top" design is beyond perfect for the comfort and flexibility I wanted to have with a suit build. It includes 9 lights in total, as well as 100% hand beaded circuitry on the body suit. It's very light to wear cause it's all foam which is a massive plus compared to the aluminium which I've used for my last couple of builds. Trying to figure out how to translate its design from paper to reality was a unique challenge and defiantly a lot of fun!
I've taken a couple of artistic liberties with the overall look and am unashamedly obsessed with that one transparent hexagon look in 2020 ironman by Pete Woods so I had to throw some hexagons in there, I also was heavily inspired by Lee Garbet's take on the suit in Captain Marvel #9 but the OG design is 100% credits to Valerio Schiti. *full disclaimer, I did do some splicing with my face on the full body shots with the close ups I took later, none of the Armor is altered ;) *
