Whoa!
It's been a while so much to say. Not enough time.
Home for spring break? -.-
Me: Did you read the email from CC? How AMAZING would it to return to Haiti during break. I'm completely crying on the inside.
JM: I read it already...it sounds AMAZING however...you've never been to Haiti so you will not be "return(ing) to Haiti during break"!!! smfh
La nouvelle est quasiment passée inaperçue. Jusque-là simple “observateur”, Haïti, la première République noire de l’Histoire, est devenu, début février à Addis-Abeba, “membre associé à part entière” de l’Union africaine (UA). Inédit ! Cette décision
You got a weave, so now you think you the Queen of Haiti?
My Mother.
When I left social media...
So it has been a while. And I must let you all know that I have not been ignoring you. The struggles in America have only gotten harder.
There's homework to deal with, taxes to file and just stress, stress and more stress to deal with.
I will be posting more regularly. I promise!
Taken from Youtube, a video to unite all the haitians cuz y'all know what he says is the TRUTH and funny as hell!
Haitian Jonas- Things Haitian Parents Say
And incase I failed to mention, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you.
Sincerely,
When I Left The Island :)
208 YEARS AND GOING STRONG!
Happy Independence Day to All My Haitian Brothers and Sisters! May this day unite us all as the FIRST INDEPENDENT BLACK NATION continues to work towards building a stronger, more prosperous Haiti. All of the poverty, disease, and natural disaster cannot tear our spirits down. Ayiti Cherié, Mwen Renmen Ou. <3
Enjoy that soup joumou everyone! (Enjoy it for me too! Remember now, im not having it this year! WAHHH!)
Our first leader, Jean Jacques Dessalines
THAT AWKWARD MOMENT WHEN THERE WILL BE NO SOUP JOUMOU PRESENT IN THIS HOUSE FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY. IM DYING PLEASE HELP ME! PLEASE FED-EX ME A BOWL S'IL VOUS PLAIT. AMWEYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Back when I was on the island I've longed to visit, I would have never missed out on soup joumou on January 1st!
The struggle of a Haitian American and the mighty american dollar, who can't afford to give her some peace on independence day.
When Haitians try to play me!
So T, E, O and i went to this haitian restaurant like 20 minutes from my house and T had the audacity to order in kreyol. The waiter then asked if T was haitian and T was like 'no im jamaican, but she's haitian' -points at me. so the guy was like "Ou pale kreyol" me: nope, but I can understand some. the waiter: poukisa ou pale li? me: it was hard for my mom, she tried, but she always ended up speaking english at the end. waiter: te manman ou ki fet an America? me: no, Port-Au-Prince. I'm first generation on both sides the waiter: you should learn how to speak! me: but didn't i just answer all your questions even though you asked them all in kreyol?? -____________________________________-
On a serious note, Haitians should stop looking down on those who don't speak kreyol. Yes, I do agree it's important to know the language, but it doesn't make us any less haitian.
The struggle of a haitian-american and those who try to bring her down.
The food was bangin tho damnnnn. i had tassot cabrit, banan frit with riz and my cola lakaye =]]]]] Only cuz the KREMAS was too expensive 0.0
Oprah's Bitchass part 2
So Oprah decided to go to Haiti, and showing a documentary on her channel sometime soon. Maybe she's not as fake as I thought.
I still want my free gifts though.
When I was mistaken for an American
The awkward moment when random old ladies are talking about you in creole not considering the fact that you might understand ..
Back in the homeland that I've longed to visit, Haitian ladies would never mistaken me for an American, because they understand me and the struggle that I have to face every single day...
My first winter
Everytime I'm headed home, I am reminded that the world is not as....snowy ....as college...they are ....moun noi lmfaoooo
Because back when I was on the island, I didn't know what snow was.
TM
Today I received my first passport ever. Now I can return to the homeland that I've never been to and finally be around people who understand me.
But then I told my mother how I hated how my passport looked. Hers is so much sexier, it's in French AND Kreyol....how can people take me seriously if they see the USA on the front of my passport?
More importantly...when can I apply for dual citizenship?
I told you McDonald's was everywhere. Shit is cray.
Un, deux, trois
Granted I never had the chance to finish (or start) my education in Haiti, I would like to make it clear that I can count, bitches! More specifically: I can count in French.
