the thing about major studio mergers is that it almost always means shows in development (ones that hadn't even been announced yet) will get cancelled. studios merging means producers get laid off and then no one is advocating for your show anymore, or marketing strategies change and your project "no longer fits the company's image", or the other studio already has a show similar to yours and now it's too redundant.

to all the almost-showrunners out there whose projects ended up in production hell, my heart goes out to you

carol is the loneliest character I think I've ever encountered in fiction. she's one of 14 beings left on the planet, and the one that has 7 billion plus bodies is giving her the cold shoulder. So she's the only person in her whole city, with only wolves and her wife's grave for company. there are 12 other immune people in the world, and she just found out that they have a groupchat that they specifically voted to exclude her from. the one guy she was within driving distance of is so keen to get back to his parties that he can't hide his disappointment when she suggests sticking around for even a few more hours, and she has to pretend that she didn't really want to stay anyway. to spare his feelings! because she doesn't want this one guy who kind of tolerates her to stop being willing to see her at all! like. fucking hell!
