it’s like you think that she’s gonna fall and then she surprises you with this unbelievably beautiful move.
Holy perfection
Busan, Part 2. Today after another big breakfast, we headed to the site of the 2005 APEC summit- some great views. We then headed to Haeundae beach- the breeze was so refreshing as was the scenery. For lunch we had 'american grill' buffet- i think we ate enough for a lifetime, so GOOD! We then headed to Shinsigae department store- the largest department store in the world (it actually looked like a shopping centre- with a spa and ice rink inside). Finally we raced to Busan station and just managed to catch our train back to Seoul (we had 1 min to spare!). All together a fantastic trip!
Busan- Part 1. We left Seoul on Friday night, arriving at 11pm. Saturday we went to 태종대 (Taejong Cliff)- incredible scenery! We then went to the famous seafood market followed by a VERY spicy lunch. Later that night we went to Gwangali Beach and lit some small fireworks- so much fun even though it was freezing! Aftewards we went to a karaoke room and sung our hearts.....now for day 2.
The first lot is from Lotte World Amusement Park. It is connected to the lotte department store and is very fancy. There are a few good rides (although wait time is up to 50 mins!), but it's worth it, with various performances and shops. It is definitely made for younger kids, but it is still worth a visit. Totally cute items at the gift shop and plenty of bright colours to bring a smile to your face!
The second lot is from Ansan Mountain which is behind Yonsei. Entry is on campus or from the street behind and it is a nice leisurely hike to the peak. Even though it is not incredibly high, the view is out of this world. there is also a buddist temple at the base on the opposite side to Yonsei. Definitely going back again, and possibly even gonna build a snowman! (if its cold enough)
This is the Korean War memorial. It has lots of model air crafts, tanks, weapons as well as statues of soldiers outside and a massive museum inside (we didn't have time to explore the whole thing). It also has a traditional wedding area where the king and queen would get married- some people where dressed up in the traditional clothing (not sure if it they were taking real wedding photos though). A very good place to visit (close to the subway) and very interesting!
From my trip a few weekends ago to 덕수궁 (Deoksugung Palace). This is just outside of town hall subway. There was a changing guard ceremony I think, happening when I arrived. Was awesome to see all these people dressed in traditional attire still helping to keep old traditions alive in such a modern city. It is a nice place, with a lovely water feature/park in the middle and nice shady spots to just chill and take in the surrounds. The juxtaposition of the town hall building and the palace (across the road from each other) really shows the diversity of Seoul.
From my shopping trips in Myeongdong, Dongdaemun and Coex Mall
Random snaps from around Sinchon
This was from the massive after party for Yonko Jeon, which was held on campus. They had stalls, free beer and lots of performances, with the main act being F(X)!!! After the performers, the cheering squad returned from their post games street cheering to do some more cheering (surprise, surprise). It was so good to see everyone joining in, even the parents and friends. Something you don't see in Australian universities...10+ hrs of cheering and a whole load of school spirit. Fantastic way to end a fantastic day!
Just a few snaps of Yonko Jeon (Yonsei v Korea University Sports games). It was held at the olympic stadium which was a 40 min subway ride but very worth it. I went for the 2nd day to see rugby and soccer, but I mostly just did cheering, which was so loud and continued way long after the games were over. So much energy from everyone! And school spirit, considering Yonsei lost 3 out of the 5 games played.
shopping in 명동 (myeongdong).
The beautiful Yonsei Campus and my home for the next 4 months! It's like a small village.
Just a few snaps of the Sincheon area, which is where Yonsei University is. It's such a lively place!
Just a few snaps from my little trip to KL.
