In the mid-80s my mom was in the Cornell folk music Society. While she was helping to run it, Pete Seeger came to play a concert, and she met him and gave him the banana pictured above. I found these pictures in an old box in the basement.
You can see a close-up of his banjo, which says ‘this machine surrounds hate and forces it to surrender’
I thought some of you guys might appreciate some old Pete Seeger pics. I was reminded of them while transcribing some lesser known folk songs on genius.

Ah, yes the generic Talking heads bootleg artwork... I’ve never actually seen the original image but I’ve seen this version a million times. It’s always really inappropriately used as well, a recording from 1977 with a picture from the 198?
