And finally day 31, "ripe". Fitting to end on a weird one, I guess. They're...ripening gourd-ish snails? Snail gourds? What do you mean that's not how snails are made. What snails have you been talking to

Day 27, "coat". Late-night downpours have always felt unearthly to me--who knows what travelers walk with you in the dark.
Day 26, "dark". The stars are migrating.
Day 25, "tasty". Fairy enjoying a pear
Day 24, "dizzy". Okay I promise this is the last one with these two,, they're CUTE okay? Prince guy's hair looked really nice before I messed it up
Day 23, "ancient". Trees are not isolated beings--there are those who are dependent on one another, and link their lives together as they grow old.
Day 22, "ghost". The giants live on.
Turns out that drawing an elephant bird, not to mention from the front and without enough space, isn't super easy. But who cares the baby kiwi is all that matters
Day 21, "treasure". Same characters from 8 and 18, they're both linguistics nerds and have a ton of conversations through writing while human guy's shipwrecked. Human guy (who is deaf) is teaching eel guy sign language rn. Like, uh, the treasure is the friends we found along the wayyyy. Also waterlogged books
Day 20, "tread". Some whippersnappers INSIST on tagging along

Day 18, "misfit", oh god I'm so behind. I struggled to fit the whole narrative I have into this one but whatever, these are the boys from day 8! I dont have names for them yet but human guy is a prince or something and has been deaf from a young age, and merman eel guy's kinda a hermit and rescued him from a shipwreck because that's romantic as fuck and they're both NERDS. Who read BOOKS
Day 17, "ornament". I got like halfway through the drawing before it occurred to me that it's not super clear this is a wedding. It's a wedding. And the ornament part is the horn adornments? Yeh. Congrats ladies! They're both warriors, I think.
I came back to this after a few hours and was surprised how much I liked the linework on this one. It's busy but I think it looks nice
