Just because you did something wrong in the past doesnât mean you canât advocate against it now. It doesnât make you a hypocrite. You just grew. Donât let people use your past to invalidate your current mindset.

The Revolutionaries
Canât you see it?⨠The pink and blue separation made shortly after your conception, â¨The determining of âslowâ, âaverageâ and âgiftedâ given shortly after your first recital of the alphabet, as if intelligence wasnât a fluid concept. ⨠The subtle message of belief in someone elseâs god in the pledge they force you to recite?⨠The dress code that not only sexualizes little girls by shaming them for their bodies in weather appropriate clothing, â¨but also individuality, by banning expression through appearance. â¨âLook more like usâ âDress more like a girlâ âBe a man"â¨
Canât you hear it? ⨠The first voice of life that teaches; âyou can be anything you want to beâ, then the second voice that interrupts to say, âwell, you canât be; a superhero, a celebrity, a famous poet, BUT You can have any career you wantâ, and then the third voice that contradicts, âyou can have any career you qualify forâ⨠But still there is no voice that asks you what it is that you want.
â¨Canât you feel it? â¨The jagged teeth of society, shaving, carving, chipping away at the waist line of our daughters, making a mockery of our sons. â¨Donât you feel the stones being thrown at our brothers and sisters who have felt the same fear as âstudies estimate that between 30-40% of LGBT youth have attempted suicideâ â¨These stones are carved from the same mountain of intolerance that bore the stones that have been thrown at people of color for decades. The same mountain that moves power drunk police to shoot first and ask questions later.
â¨Canât you see theyâre still killing us? ⨠Theyâre keeping you sick to sell you a cure. Theyâre increasing tuition to promote the elite who can afford a âluxuryâ such as education. Theyâre banking on your doubt, cashing checks from the account of your self worth.
â¨Canât you tell theyâre still killing us? â¨The voice of, âoh, be realistic.â? The screams of our fellow humans dying for just being what they are.Â
â¨Letâs drown that sound out. Before we kill ourselves off, sing of love, sing of faith, sing of equality, sing of acceptance. â¨Howl until your lungs give out because sore throats have done some singing.
â¨Canât you tell theyâre killing us? â¨
But donât you know they canât kill our ideas?
