So i guess this old blog is officially out of commission huh?

I think so, friend. I think so. 

It saddens me to do it, because I loved the writing and I love you guys. And some of my more original interpretations of the characters will still live on! 

But I definitely got overwhelmed by just how popular the blog grew. It probably isn’t much compared to the bigger blogs, but I never dreamed of gaining as many followers - or requests - as I did. 

I think I bit off a bit too much, haha? 

It’s just I had so many ideas for characters - and if I didn’t I would come up with them on the fly! - and before I knew it...

Swoosh, we spiraled out of control.

And I never did really embrace the yandere - remember when that was a thing? - and I think as time moved on I pulled away from the original purpose of the blog, which was to be a Reader x Hetalia blog.

I won’t lie, either. Briefly, in the months I’ve been gone, I toyed with the idea of making a secret new Hetalia blog, with a smaller scope. Heck, I think about it even now! 

But this blog, as it is now, needs to rest. 

But it was fun while it lasted, ye? I have lots of fond memories of this blog, and I hope you all do, too. I also hope that you don’t see this as time wasted, because to me it is anything but!

I’ve seen BnHA floating around! It looks interesting, with a diverse cast of characters and some interesting designs. 

Sadly, though, it looks a bit long...? Over 250 chapters for the manga seems a bit much for me. ;; I’m just an old granny, friend. 

On the topic of fandoms, I’ve actually been focusing on more original work! Nothing I’ll post or publish, but that’s where my mind’s been at.

To be honest, I’m not sure. 

I still love these characters and I still love writing for them, but... 

Part of me wants to move on to more original work? Which doesn’t necessarily mean not writing these characters anymore, because I feel quite a few - the 2Ps especially - are already original characters.

I kind of wish I had more fandoms, to be honest, because I still want to write and share that with people. But the only fandom I’ve written for in the last ten-ish years is Hetalia, and I don’t know what to move on to.

Alas, Anon, this is my only tumblr!

I’m just too boring of a person outside of this blog, and I legitimately can’t think of anything I’d post about on a personal tumblr. I don’t even have other fandoms to fall back on, and my “original” writing just uses the characters I’ve developed for here.

Don’t worry, I’m not dead. I just decided to pick up quilting as a hobby because life sometimes is like that, and it takes freaking forever because I decided to sew by hand. (And on top of that, I’m doing a King-sized quilt because I hate myself.)

Anyway, hopefully we’ll get back to your regularly scheduled content soon! I’ve also gotta start planning for Camp NaNoWriMo in July - maybe see if I can plot out a Helen of Troy re-imagining.

I’ve never actually picked a face claim of any of the characters - that picture was more to show what the glasses look like!

Per Google, the guy in the picture is Ryosuke Yamada, who has had dark hair. So, if you want to cast him as Ren, I say go for it!

In my defense, I never claimed to be a benevolent creator, and some characters - Xiao - trigger my Break the Cutie impulses.

But it’s okay because there are no sad endings here, so everything works out for the best!

I’m not sure if it’s just me but there’s been a lot of world building lately (not that it’s a bad thing) and I feel a little deprived of my murder spouses usual antics with an s/o???

So I have an angsty idea: since the nations are somewhat immortal, imagine a s/o that has been reincarnated, but memories of past lives are fuzzy. so a nation and their s/o could’ve been together centuries ago, s/o dies and is reincarnated, meeting the nation again centuries or decades later, and s/o remembers them vaguely. It’s a happy reunion, but then s/o eventually dies again and the nation has to wait for them—but even then, there’s a chance that they won’t see their s/o ever again

This is actually blog canon!

It should first be noted that not all nations believe in reincarnation. Many of the Muslim nations, for example, reject reincarnation entirely, as do most - if not all - the Catholic nations. 

But those who do believe in reincarnation actually have a name for nations who wait in between reincarnation cycles for the soul of their Most Beloved: Soul Chasers.

Vikas (1P India) is perhaps the most well-known example amongst the nations. Other Soul Chasers include: Rajendra (2P India), Manu (1P Persia), Miriam (1P Israel), and Sadık (1P Turkey).

Soul Chasing is still a controversial practice, and something you were more likely to see in the Ancients than in Modern Nations. 

There are some who believe that once a soul has been reincarnated, it should be kept free of ties from its old life - because only through new experiences does the soul grow. Others believe that souls reborn never truly mirror their past lives, and those who chase souls are doomed to failure.

But, you’re right, it does have an air of tragedy to it, especially for those Soul Chasers who have never found their Most Beloved’s soul.
