Oooh, nice one. Um, as much as I love writing, can’t say I have written any poems about him? This gives me the idea that I should though! If I did I probably would. My poems, if they are ever about a person, are mostly rather vague anyway so as long as I knew he wouldn’t find out or at least if it wasn’t lovey dove-y then yeah!

He’s already told me that he likes my writing and would always read it so I’m sure he wouldn’t mind!

Yessss. He wears reading glasses sometimes and I have a thing for people with glasses for some reason. It’s always a nice thing seeing him wear it, he looks so good in them! Usually he always has it on his desk in a case when he’s not reading.

More on how my and Mr. A’s interactions went in junior year that evolved into the friendship I have with him today? Hell yeah-

As long as the first one and still before I started really crushing on him.

Note: These memories (or at least most) from junior year are all in a notebook I have when I discovered the TCC. A notebook of which I might burn after all the stories are posted lmao.

Even with being already sort of close with Mr. A (we would often greet each other when we saw one another in the hallway, talk until the class would get in the room, Hell, I sat the closest to his desk), I still felt very out of place. It was only in his class that I did. Most of the seniors didn’t give me the time of day, even the nice individuals of the class barely spoke with me. Might have been seen as being a “teacher’s pet” but Mr. A was the closest person I had to a friend in the class. Towards the end of the period Mr. A told us in about a week or two in advance that we would have a statistics project and needed a partner. So, of course, I did as any junior in a class full of barely known seniors: silently panicked and hoped that he would let me work alone. I would have even let Mr. A work with me (it was common here for teachers to sometimes do so) because I just felt so intimidated by them for some reason, though I knew it was silly because I was going to be in their place in a year.

After Mr. A stated the project he looked directly at me, not long enough for other students to notice but it was as if he read my mind, or maybe he just knew by the look on my face. While other students were already talking and picking friends as partners Mr. A rolled around in his office chair, speaking with students in the last five minutes of class until he got to me. His chair snagged on something on the floor and he almost fell over. Luckily he didn’t, though the look on his face made me snort and I had to cover my mouth.

“You laughing at me? Huh?” He grinned at me so hard, which only made me laugh a little more.

“No sir.”

“Yeah right, you liar,” Mr. A’s smile fell just a bit, as his voice took a more hush tone. “Listen, I know you’re pretty shy and I am completely fine with that. Just know that if you don’t want to work with anyone here, you’re free to work alone. It’s a relatively easy project. I know you can handle it.”

I can remember my face just lighting up after that he let out some soft laugh.

“I know, I know, I’m such a great teacher.”

I could only roll my eyes at him and laugh at him as the bell rang.

“Thank you so much!”

The more he answered questions about the project throughout the week, the easier it did sound. However, I still didn’t have a partner. Not that I was actively searching for one but as the end of the week approached nearly everyone had announced who they were working with, leaving me feeling awkward all over again.

It was on Thursday that we got another student in the class— one of my best friends. She (we’ll call her M) was actually in the class for a different period but got changed into the 3rd period with me. Because of lack of seats she was asked to sit at the big round table near the door. I asked him could I sit near her and he agreed so long as I didn’t get into trouble.

I was so happy and he could see it in my face and smiled back at me. I liked Mr. A (as a teacher friend) at that time, all my previous assumptions and doubts about him had been thrown to the wind but it felt nice to be with M and have someone to work with. After talking it over with her we decided that we would be partners in project for the next week.

The bell rang and M immediately left to go use the bathroom. Mr. A approached me then.

“Wow, she just couldn’t wait to get out of my class, huh?” He clicked his tongue. Even if he wasn’t smirking I could tell he was teasing. “Ugh, now I have two juniors in my class. The Terrible Two, how will I survive?”

“What? We’re the coolest students in here.” I was really glad I said it after all the seniors were gone.

“More like the most nerdy.”

“How rude!”

Mr. A tended to smile a lot when he was joking around with students, so it was always nice to see it, he even laughed. As I left he quickly added:

“Hey girl, you gonna start smiling more in my class?”

“Yes sir. But... I always smile in your class, because of your stupid jokes.”

He looked like he wanted to say something but actually nodded as if he was saying, “fair enough”.

“Have a good day, S. See you tomorrow.”

“You too, Mr. A. See you.”

And then he freaking winked at me. I remember that very clearly. This guy-

There was one time in junior year Mr. A called me sweetie.

Pretty sure it was something that just slipped out. I was just trying to get my test back that he had forgotten about on his desk but I was in the stage of where I still kinda shy with him. I just sort inched closer to him in the rolling chair he temporarily let me sit in. When he finally noticed me after handling the other students he smiled and asked what was wrong and when I told him (or rather muttered it out) he laughed and handed it to me.

“I’m sorry, got distracted. Why didn’t you just tell me, sweetie?”

He had no issues in saying that at all or maybe he wasn’t aware that he had said it. I just smiled and shrugged, thanking him as I did. I know this was a time when I wasn’t sure if I was crushing or not so I’d say I handled it pretty well, even though I remember being somewhat embarrassed. Thinking back on makes my heart skip a beat for some reason.

He may or may not have noticed that it made embarrassed because he hasn’t called me that since, but now I kind of wish he would call me that again.

Though he has several silly nicknames for me now, so that makes me v happy.

57. what’s their handwriting like?

When he’s in a hurry and/or just doesn’t care his handwriting is absolutely atrocious and I’ve told him that too (to which he pouted and called me a bully) but he knows! However, when Mr. A takes his time it looks… Decent. Lmao, I’ll give him that much. It’s kind of a cute style though.

58. what age did you think they were when you first met? what age are they really?

While he did tell his age on the first day we met in class I guessed he was in his mid to late thirties. Turns out I was right because he’s 36!

72. what would you love to see them wear?

I see him wear a suit or a dress shirt almost everyday, so I can’t go that direction. I’ve also seen him wear casual clothes too. His style is very… Unique? Uh, never really thought about it! Suppose something to show off his collarbones? Or, on the opposite side of the spectrum, a turtleneck? It would look good on him. Gloves, maybe snow white gloves like princes in movies wear. His hands are wonderful.

Soft and kind. Sweet, gentle, and surprisingly not too deep. It certainly fits his relaxed and lenient personality and when he has to yell at the class it’s clear that it sort of strains him, because he’s used to a more calming tone. It can be so versatile, low and seductive, hushed and thoughtful. When he smiles you can hear it in his voice and you feel as though you’re talking to a friend. The nerd is embarrassed to sing in front of me though, jeez.

Ahh! So many things! He’s kind, of course. Funny even though his jokes are so silly. Generally very accepting and willing to help and listen. I think that’s what I admire the most. He willingness to do good and help, even with what he goes through. Mr. A has headaches nearly everyday and it’s part of the reason why he’s not too fond of yelling at the class, but he’ll still takes time to help because he actually cares.

You and your tc seem to have a good relationship, I'm jealous lol! Would things be different if you didn't have a crush on him? I feel like it wouldn't for me. I'm kinda awkward so I sometimes have trouble talking sksks

Oh, you think so? Thanks! It’s not always good times but nevertheless he’s a wonderful teacher and a great friend to me.

To answer your question, yes and no? Yes because I wouldn’t feel so nervous about talking to him and no because, even before I started crushing on him I trusted him. I told him some personal things my junior year (which I’ll share later) and he was genuinely concerned, not only because I was his student but because he actually cared for my well being as person.

I’m awkward too, don’t worry! :D Though the more you talk the more comfortable you’ll feel. Keep pushing!

I feel like everyone has these “romantic” moments between them and their TC and mine is such a dork we barely have those. It’s just like, for example today:

Mr. A stares at me for a good fifteen seconds.

“Uh? Is something wrong?”

“I want your shirt,” referring to an Avengers shirt I’m wearing.

“Oh, you like it? Sure. Thirty bucks.”

“Wow, on a teacher’s salary? Be easier on my wallet to just steal it from you.”

“Then I’d just beat you up.”

“Beat me up? Oh my God, you’re such a bully.” Literally pretends to tattle to one of my friends who walk by in the hallway.

“Why are you like this?”

I’m not too entirely sure where to start. Being new to all to this and all. But I’ll share the very first memorable moment between my tc and I...

A math teacher. Tall and dark haired male (we’ll call him “A” for now) teaching me on one of my worst subjects even though I am a supposed “honors student”. Though I was very relieved, this was my last math to take and it was said to be an easy class with a chill teacher. That being said I had my doubts, his height as well as the subject intimidated me, but I tried to remain positive.

I am a single junior stuck in a classroom full of seniors. The only junior friend I had in class moved within the second week. Being the shy and introverted kid I am, I was pretty much isolated. Some seniors were nice, others not so much, but I did my best to not bother any of them.

Skipping along, I barely talked to anyone, including A. I came in, did my work and left almost immediately when the period ended. A seemed to notice my timidness and always smiled when I was near, I suppose to make me feel more welcome, and I would smile and wave back. He is kind, funny, easy to talk to, and so many wonderful things, but I couldn’t really shake off how small I felt next to him.

The first time I talked was the Monday of the third week. Actually it was more of a small talk I did with him, to get over my anxiety of speaking with him. He seemed appreciative and it felt nice to make him happy. I seemed to be one of the only students to be disciplined in that class. Many of the students didn’t try or behaved well because they were in their last year.

In that period no one was really feel up to it, or it appeared that way, because no one was answering any questions. I usually know the answers, somehow the class was easier than my previous math classes, but I never rose my hand due to just feeling... Out of place. But I decided to speak that day for some reason. He was barely getting any reaction that he even opted for people to just shout out answers.

I took advantage of that and yelled out an answer after he asked a question.

“Yes...” A responded immediately, a pleased look in his eye as he stared at me before a smile came to his face. It felt like he stared at me forever but the eye contact was over in two seconds. Afterwards I answered whatever questions he asked the class, to the point where it felt like he and I were the only ones in the room that day; he even looked at me every time there was a long pause of silence after questions, to which I’d reply to.

At the end of the class my bag got stuck when I tried to quickly move out of the classroom so he actually had a minute to speak to me before I left.

He used that minute to say, “Nice to know my anti-social junior speaks. Thanks for the help.”

I couldn’t help but just laugh and shake my head. I responded with something along the lines of, “Of course I do.” and waved goodbye.

Though that didn’t mark the day of my feelings for him it did mark the start of our whimsical friendship.
