I have opinions about how up in arms pagans get about modern mythological media but I don't want to express them cause I know I'll be attacked by the overly pious types who think any differing opinions about the gods is hubristic disrespect and slander. I have a question for all my crochet friends out there who sell larger items, like blankets! Does anyone have any advice for to photograph them??

I love making blankets and want to show the full thing, but my bed is literally just a mattress on the floor and I don't have enough space on the ground anywhere.

I have tried draping them fully on a couch but it just looks weird to me.

You know what I think is important and underrated? Etymology.

Actually learning the origins of words, where they came from, what they first meant, how they came to be, and how their meanings may have developed/evolved/changed throughout history, would for sure lead to a whole lot less misuse and appropriation. Not to mention a whole lot less misinformation.

I have to be careful what I touch when I'm in there. I'm probably just traumatized and superstitious, but touching a heavily used bible, rosary, hymnal, etc. makes my teeth itch. I'm in enemy territory and the place is filled with landmines.

When I was regularly going to churches (as a florist) I couldn't get my ears to stop ringing and I was really careful not to be loud or touch anything. But that might have been a stress reaction because the only times I was ever sent to a church was to fix a mistake for a funeral and I was going from a noisy studio to a very quiet place, both of which were tense.

Just christian churches, though. Synagogues were a little less stressful, even if our usual customer for the temple was a very picky person.

I think it's probably stress in my situation, but I was real careful not to be enter the actual sanctuary while mass was happening because it felt like... wrong if I wasnt there specifically for it.

A few years ago I went to a wedding for my cousin and sat next to my dad and his girlfriend at the time. She and I are both practicing witches, and my dad kept leaning over during the ceremony and joked, "are you guys burning yet? Gonna light on fire?" 😂😂😂

But it really does feel like I'm trespassing sometimes. Depends on the atmosphere and people too, tho
