alex , like his mother suffers from metal illness , mainly dissociative disorder && bordering psychosis , which only really became present the further && further he ventured in to wonderland during his short visits  . mostly since while wonderland is , wonderous - - - it’s also made to drive you insane mad . meaning alex , will at times loose touch with reality ( ex . dissociating during class , where he mostly sees the cheshire cat , the blue caterpillar , the march hare && in similar fashion to his mother ; the white rabbit  .  he  would hold ; what to him , would be riveting conversations , but to everyone else would be the equivalent of him talking to a wall . ) sometimes not being aware just where he is or what he was previously doing .  many teachers has suggest to his mother that he should take medicine , his mother , not wanting to go that far , has just started limiting his visits to wonderland + the time he can spend there so his condition does not get worse . although contrary to what the auradon staff says , he doesn't WANT to take the insightful voices away as he claims they help him , though at other time he finds himself in capable of deal with the voices in his head && just wants it all to end .
