“New sculpture piece to bring more art to town.” Was it cobbled together from rubble? Yes, but that’s called being resourceful. “Art is supposed to be left up to the viewer I’m told.”

“People might mistake y’for a whore.” Blunt words but true ones. “For whatever reason girls are more inclined towards that mistake than men or boys. And some don’t always like t’take no for an answer. So why invite trouble?”
She paused. “But even worse the Jenova’s Witnesses have a base in that area and I’ve heard some nasty rumors about what they do t’people they catch pokin’ around.”
Her face turned red. “M-m-me??? No way.” She couldn’t see how anyone could confuse her for that, but she also knew how horrid men could be. “Well they’d be learning what no means when I arrest them for assault!”
“Jenova’s.... yeah I’ve heard some of the rumors. If they really do have a base there, all the more reason to be sending out guard right? Maybe in groups, for extra safety.”

“Oh, it’s not dangerous in that respect. It’s dangerous in the fact that you’re a girl. There’s…misunderstandin’ in that area of town when you’re female, regardless of what uniform you’re wearin’. And the moment y’clear it out it’s gonna spring back again.”
“Because I’m a girl?” Keiori squinted in confusion. Was it because people thought girls were weak? That was just silly. “What’s that gotta do with anything?”

Roxy hesitated. “There’re a few places you’ll probably wanna avoid though. Y’won’t be safe and your entire goal is t’protect the city without needlessly sacrificin’ yourself, right?”
“Heeey, I’m pretty tough.” She pretended to punch the air. “How bad are we talkin’? Seems like those areas should be taken care of if it’s that dangerous.”

“It makes life excitin’.” She grinned. “There’s never a dull moment in the lower city, be it good or bad.”
“You do seem like you don’t mind living a bit risky. Wish there could be less of the bad though. Maybe it’ll change sooner rather than later.” With their current guard captain, sending aid that way was more likely. Perhaps even their new mayor would be willing to help.
“If I get the chance, I’d pick a route over there. Then I could say hi!”

“Y’see a lot of things when you’re playin’ on the street.” Roxy replied blandly. “Some of those things are hilarious and good song material, others you’d probably want t’forget.”
“I can imagine, especially in the part of town you play. I hear it gets really lively over there.” She had heard other things too, but those weren’t quite as nice. Considering who they came from, it was possible they weren’t entirely true.

“My point is proven. It also convinces people they can dance when in fact they can’t.”
“Sounds like you’ve witnessed that yourself.” She laughed, then wiggled her fingers in the air. “Powerful magics these beverages perform. I’m shocked they also haven’t been banned from town.”

“No, technically it’s a poison. That’s why it makes people stupid.”
“It did make me buy a lot of those dumb products you see on late night infomercials. If you ever need a cake that has two cakes inside it I got ya covered.”

“Depends on how good it was the night before and how much y’remember. Good enough and you’d probably want them t’stick around for more the same.”
“I guess so.” She felt like she might be too occupied dying of embarrassment. “Is alcohol considered a magic potion?”

“Fortunate accident? Y’wake up one day and suddenly there’s someone next t’you with his or her arms around you.”
“Sounds more like the kinda thing that happens after many many drinks that you never talk about again.”
