Memories | Seven & Nero
royalcerulean:
messoris:
Oh, for God’s sake - She couldn’t help but easily notice her brother’s gaze practically glued to their friend, her own shooting a murderous look at him in response. She knew something was up with him, and it had to be something related to his { hopefully soon to be ex } girlfriend. She was done pressing Seven, and her brother was harder to crack than anyone she knew. Not that she wanted to harass him about his situation, taking note of it well enough in his expressions as days passed.
She wondered if it had something to do with why she wasn’t around helping them with the whole move, not that she would give her enough credit.
“What do I need?” She questioned him, eyebrow raised quizzically. Her hand came to pull at his ear, voice nothing but a whisper against it. “Keep ‘yer eyes off the prize, an’ I’ll think about it.” She was incredibly aware, now, that something had clicked with him. The question was, what? She shoved him, lightly, as she went off to sort through the kitchen boxes like Seven had suggested.
“The pizza place. Down the street.” An attempt to elude Seven from her actual statement at her brother, hoping she would take the bait of her giving him shit when they had yelled for pizza while he was dozing off. “Pepperoni ‘fer me!” An afterthought as she dug out a few plates to wash off for the night.
It wasn’t that she hadn’t thought about it. Well, wouldn’t it be ideal? Your best friend and your brother, especially when you cared for him as much as she did. But something about it bothered her, and she just couldn’t place it. As much as she wanted it, something held her back. Maybe she just wasn’t ready to see something so jeopardizing come to fruition. She loved them both, but if anything happened… if they had a falling out…
…Where would that leave her?
The sudden yank of his ear caught Nero off guard. Arms tightened around the boxes that he carried because he almost dropped them at his sibling’s words. Teeth was grit, eyes were wide, and his face flushed a very noticable red.
Which deity should he thank because Seven couldn’t see his dilemma or hear what his sister had said to him?
Sice knew.
A sharp sigh escaped his lips when he was released from the borderline death grip at his ear, but even that didn’t grant him any relief– even when it should. This just changes the whole game. The younger one and Seven knew damn well that he wasn’t available for that kind of relationship– he was already in one.
Which leads to a bigger question: Is he happy to be in it?
“Tch.” Nero huffed when the other began to practically sing about pizza like nothing just happened a second ago. “Yeah, I got it.” he gave a proper reply with his eyes glued to the box of his things and stayed like that for a few minutes. Once Sice left to get the plates set up, Nero turned his body to face the silver-haired female. “What d’ya want?”
He placed the box down and reached into his pockets for his phone. It was best to keep it as casual with Seven– not like he really had a choice. The amount of mental strength it took to somewhat avoid her after the incident that occurred a long time ago was exhausting. A small grin was on his lips and he waved the cellular device. “It’s my treat.” For now, he’ll let himself relax.
Be like how they were a long time ago. For their sake, and for Sice’s.
How terrible would it be if the sibling were to discover the strain between Nero’s relationship with Seven, if she hadn’t already? There was more to this situation that meets the eye.
In attempt to avoid her embarrassment and to leave the bickering siblings be, Seven headed towards the kitchen with a box to make herself look busy. Better to ignore and pretend like nothing was happening, right? That’d erase whatever the hell just happened.
Hearing Sice’s comments about the pizza, she began to ponder what mood her taste buds were in today. Logically, it was probably best to pick something cheap, considering they all had to pay the fees for the apartment. Any money they could save was well worth it. College life.
When Nero looked at her, she held eye contact for a moment before turning her attention back to the open cardboard. Why was he grinning at her like that? The strange feelings began to bubble up again, and she was glad her gaze was downwards into a box. Usually she was much more in control of her emotions, able to shove them down and move on. Why was he so different?
Why am I like this.
“I’m okay with pepperoni, too.”
“Do we want to walk over and pick it up to save the cost of delivery?” she asked the siblings, one eyebrow raised in question. It wasn’t too far away, and it wouldn’t be awful to explore their new neighbourhood. The boxes could wait if it meant getting to know their surroundings.
“I wouldn’t mind getting to know the area a bit better, if you guys are down for talking a walk,” she continued, leaning on the counter as she spoke.
“It’ll be like old times. Remember when we used to sneak out and bring a box back to my place?” The trio had to be extra careful not to alarm Seven’s parents and her siblings. If there was one thing a kid’s nose could pick up on in the dead of sleep, it was the smell of fresh pizza out of the oven.
It seemed like a life time ago that the three were just kids without responsibilities. Smiling at the fond memory, she almost wished they were able to go back to simpler times. But she also knew how important and vital these steps were to the siblings. They were absolutely free from the awful conditions they had to endure until now, and Seven was extremely grateful for it. They had a bright future ahead of them.
As long as this weird thing that was happening didn’t get in the way, everything was golden! And even on the off chance something ever happened between her and Nero, she would never let that come between the dynamic.
Stop thinking about that!
Break | Seven
royalcerulean:
And what game was this one playing at? Head cocked to the side out of confusion and mild curiosity, he asked the other, “What exactly are you sorry for again?” Eyes flickered at the keys that gleamed in his eyes and back to her face that had the small smile. Nero wasn’t sure how to feel.
It would be weird to just pretend that scene never happened, so why? Perhaps this wasn’t the time and place for Seven to ask him such personal questions, that’s why she wouldn’t right now. Nero himself couldn’t deny the stares and whispers from a few coworkers and strangers that managed to hear the storm that was brewing between the two.
“I just want to get the hell out of here,” he mumbled with a roll of his shoulder. His day was spoiled and even though he worked a short shift, he just wanted to leave the premises as soon as possible. Whether or not he would call his girlfriend later to apologize was on his mind already, but the bigger question was– was it worth it? Not really. “Let’s get outta here already!” he urged and made his way through the doors.
Nero was beyond irritated, so much so that he didn’t even look both ways before crossing the street to get to the car. Luckily for him, it was the slowest day of the week and not many people were stopping by for some shopping yet. “Where are we going to go for a bite to eat anyway, girly?” he asked when he arrived next to the car and put his hands in his pockets. “And do ya mind takin’ the wheel again? I’m fuckin’ exhausted.”
He was half glad that he couldn’t see her face. To see that small smile would make him feel a certain way, even though he didn’t want to admit it. Even a concerned look would do the trick, but he made sure to keep his eyes away from her view and hoped she wouldn’t realize. “And try to forget about what just happened in there.”
“– don’t tell Sice either.”
“I know,” she replied, quietly following the male out to the car. If only she could reach out and comfort him as she normally would. Not that she couldn’t, but it felt wrong considering how she had been thinking. Feeling.
Now is not the time.
Pressing the unlock button on the car keys, the student watched as he continued to march towards their vehicle, not even bothering to watch for cars. It made her heart begin to race with anxiousness. What in the world was he thinking?
“Nero, don’t get yourself killed--” He must be really pissed off.
She looked both ways as she hurried across the street. He was going to give her a run for her money, and that was for sure. There wasn’t even a question about it. The siblings had always been that way, though. Much more adventurous, witty and spontaneous. Seven on the other hand was known to be methodical, planned and cautious with everything she did.
There he was again with that ‘girly’ thing.
“I asked Sice, she hasn’t answered yet though,” Opening the car door, she slipped to the drivers seat. She plugged the keys into the ignition and blasted the air conditioning as fast as she could. It was stupid hot outside, and Nero was wearing a sweater for whatever insane reason. Why was he doing that?
Try to forget? Ha. As if she was going to be able to forget her freaking out on him like that. She couldn’t forgive someone like that. And not tell Sice? Too late. But she knew everything.
“She’ll know what happened the minute you walk in our door.” she stated, placing her hands on the wheel of the car. It was easy to tell what mood he was in. And he didn’t need to know about the text. “We can go to the Crow’s Nest and pick up some fries... Unless you have something in mind?”
“Also, why the hell are you wearing a sweatshirt?” she asked, giving the other a confused stare. It was the middle of the summer. There was absolutely no need for a freaking sweatshirt.

Boredom | Seven
messoris:
For once, Sice was free from her responsibilities. She didn’t have work to do that day, and her team wouldn’t be meeting for the season for another month. School wouldn’t be back in for almost three, and she had sketched out every little clothing design trapped in her head for the past few months.
And yet, nobody was home.
She let out an exaggerated sigh as her head fell from the couch, eye focused on the upside-down picture of the television. Her feet dangled off the top, kicking idly at the air. Seven had gone to pick Nero up from work, and at this point, Sice felt like she should have gone ahead with her. Sure, there may have been plenty more to do to occupy her time while the others were out, but she really only made internal excuses when she wanted to spend the time with her family the rest of the night.
Somehow, she managed to flip through the channels despite having a hard time figuring out just what was playing, before she gave up on the t.v. and turned to her phone. Still in her predicament on the couch, Sice shuffled through her apps and opened the messages, clicking on a small picture of seven asleep on the couch { she didn’t know about that one, yet }.
Sice: yo wyd? hurry up & bring home food. miss u losers. { im bored save meeee }
Boy, this was a heated conversation.
Gently picking up a bright green apple, Seven attempted to keep her vision low as to not interrupt or distract the couple. Sure, she was there to pick up Nero-- but it was no place for her to step in. They were adults. They could handle it. And if they couldn’t-- well. At least she was there to kick her ass.
After a few long seconds of pretending to care about an apple, she felt her phone buzz in her pocket. It was Sice, and of course she had no idea what was going on. Grabbing the device from the pocket of her shorts, she continued to hold various apples as she plotted a reply.
She should have come with me.
Seven: i just got to the store, we’ll pick up something on the way back.
Seven: do you have anything in mind? i’m starving ( and i miss you too, loser )
Contemplating whether or not to tell her best friend about the encounter she was witnessing, she decided it would at least be best to mention his significant other was present. Surely, Nero would want her to keep her mouth shut about the argument portion.
Seven: our favourite person is here, btw :\
I’m gonna be very basic on this promo ( I’m lazy as it gets, RIP ) But please like and/or reblog this if you’re interested in roleplaying with a Tredd Furia of Kingsglaive ( FFXV ) ! Kinda semi-selective — but I love roleplaying with OC’s , anything crossover related & everything else!
Memories | Seven & Nero
messoris:
While it was obvious she was denying so vehemently due to her own feelings, a sense of relief settled in the pit of her stomach. Maybe she needed to back off on pushing this for her own sake. As much as she cared for the both of them, it was clear how deeply she cared for her brother. Sometimes she believed nobody would be good enough to take care of him. He needed someone independent, someone who wouldn’t depend on him for everything. He’d done enough of that for her, growing up. She would hope for the day someone would be enough for him, at least in her eyes. Until then she would just have to deny it.
“Honestly, she didn’ even come help us pack or unpack. How many times does he go off when she calls ‘im?”
It was exasperating, really, to watch him work himself to the bone only to be at her beck and call whenever he had a free moment - which wasn’t often. She’d seen less and less of him as time went one due to her needs. “You’re really not alone, y’know. This is the longest I’ve seen ‘im in a while cause’a her.”
While she knew it was selfish, and they couldn’t afford the relaxation, but she missed the nights they would huddle up on the couch with blankets and popcorn, watching movies until the sun was peaking in through their windows. He was an irreplaceable person in her life, and that woman was sucking every bit of energy from him.
She just wanted him to smile again.
“They need to. For his sake.”
Sice let out a sigh as she stood up straight, arms stretching out above her head to try and get herself moving again. They still had to run all the boxes inside, and it would be a while still even with the two of them working together. She grunted, pulling up the box she’d just set down and hauling it up the stairs. It wasn’t as bad as she thought, and the boxes were so little now that it wouldn’t take much longer to get everything hauled inside.
Walking inside the apartment, Sice the box labeled ‘Nero’s shit’ in the middle of the floor. “Hey, lazy ass. Start hustlin’ before I snag your underwear outta here and really embarrass ya’.”
What Sice said was true, she didn’t come and help. At all. Not with the packing, or unpacking. Not with the transporting when they were looking for a cheaper way to haul all of their things over to their new place. Nothing. One thing the trio’s friendship was based on was being there for each other in at all times. She just didn’t fit.
“We didn’t need her anyway,” Seven replied sharply as she lifted a box to bring up the stairs. It didn’t sit right that someone who supposedly cared about Nero wasn’t even helping him with something so exciting.
The student began to make a mental note to try her best to look out for Nero. It was about time that the three of them began to reconnect and come back to what they valued from before. Surely, within the next few months it would begin to mend itself. The three were going to be together 24/7 and have no escape. They would need to lean on each other as they navigated this new college thing. Or so she hoped.
Following Sice up the staircase to their apartment, Seven noticed the writing on the box she was carrying. It was clearly labeled “shoes”, and that only meant one thing. Silently hoping the two wouldn’t question why in the world she had an entire box full of pointe shoes, she had plans to shove it directly to the back of her closet. It was hard to get rid of the memories, blood, sweat and tears.
“Did you seriously fall asleep?” she stated, raising a brow at the sleeping figure on the couch. He looked so peaceful. With one arm covering his eyes from the sunlight and the other resting on his stomach, the male was sprawled out on the entire length of the couch. It made her heart start to race, feeling her cheeks begin to flush at the thought of her conversation with Sice.
Stop it.
Throwing the box on the ground, the woman quickly reached in it to grab a pink satin shoe. “Wake up, lazy.”
Seven tossed a shoe in his direction on the couch, in attempt to wake him up. It wasn’t fair they were doing all the dirty work while he got to nap in the central air. Boxes were still strewn all around the room and looked as if they were hardly touched.
“We’ve got work to do.”
Memories | Seven & Nero
messoris:
whirlwhip:
Following her best friend down the steps to their brand new apartment, she found herself rejuvenated from the five minutes of rest. It wouldn’t take them long to bring the rest of the boxes in the house, and the motivation of being done was more than enough to encourage the young woman to work faster.
“Yeah, sounds like a plan,” she responded with a quick nod. Placing her hands on her hips while assessing the situation at hand, Seven felt determined. Once she set her mind on something, there was no stopping her. It would take physically holding her down to get her to stop now.
She reached out her arms to grab one of the remaining boxes from the truck, hoisting it over to the sidewalk leading towards the complex. They had messily written where each box should go in bold black sharpie, which was a great idea. It would make this job all the easier.
“Oh–” stopping mid sentence, the student’s violet eyes grew wide at what Sice was asking. “I honestly have no idea,” she replied quickly, truly not knowing at all what the male was thinking when he said that. “This is the longest we’ve been in contact, or even talked, for a few years now.”
Setting another box on the ground beside the previous one, Seven bit her lip in thought. He was probably just joking around, being witty and sarcastic as usual. It wasn’t out of place, necessarily, but it was different towards her. It wasn’t something she was going to dwell on.
“I think we’ll be done pretty quick,” she stated, clearly changing the subject. Hopefully Sice wouldn’t notice– Unlikely.
“We can set up our kitchen first and then order a pizza or something, yeah? Everyone’s gonna get angry around here soon if we don’t get some food,” she laughed lightly, it was still kind of serious. The hunger was starting to set in. “When was the last time we ate?”
“Well, I definitely feel like there’s somethin’ weird abou’ it.”
Her response came a little strained as she hoisted a box up from the very end of the truck. It was the last one left, leaving the truck empty and their first job complete. Now, all they needed to do was lug them up the stairs. At least the hallways were relatively cool, as well.
She shrugged as she dropped the box atop another, elbow digging into the cardboard as she rested upon it. “Probably since last night. We’ve been haulin’ boxes since we woke up.” She could go for anything really, with how starved she felt just about then. If they ordered now, it would probably show up around the time they were done hauling everything inside.
Or, they could have a bit of a chat, first.
“Y’know, I feel like somethin’s jus’ not going well for them.” She couldn’t help the smirk that formed as thoughts ran through her mind. it was conflicting, of course, to think of her brother lack of happiness, but she knew from the moment she saw this girl that nothing was right about her. She wasn’t about to control his life, but as his younger sister, she knew he deserved better. That better had to exist somewhere, and she couldn’t help but get a hint that he was starting to realize better was right in front of him.
Like, really, what was that?
“I think he’s got his eyes on you, y’know,” She started, brows furrowing as she contemplated how far she wanted to push this. “Like, not contentiously’re anythin’ but it’s there.” And it may have just been a few pictures, something that anyone would find embarrassing showing to someone… but this was Seven. She was practically family to them, and embarrassing things had happened well enough in their childhood.
So she coudldn’t help but wonder whether this was going to go somewhere…. and if she was okay with that.
Placing another box down on the ground, Seven raised her voice to yell up at Nero in the apartment. “Nero!” she shouted. “Order us a pizza, will you?”
She sighed loudly, sitting on one of the boxes she had just taken out. Something wasn’t going well for them? Sice could definitely say that again. Even though the two hadn’t conversed properly in a long time, Seven could still see the differences in the male. It tugged at something in her chest-- something the student wasn’t so sure she was willing to explore.
The thought of how his girlfriend was treating him was enough to make Seven sick to her stomach. If there was a way she could have stepped in to make it stop, she would. She knew for a fact Sice absolutely would. Until then, they would just have to wait.
“Eyes on me?” She responded, eyes widely staring at her best friend. Did she really just say that? “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Sice.” A nervous laugh escaped as she scratched her head in thought. It was impossible for something like that to be happening. Especially without her knowing. Seven was known for being extremely observant, people were always freaked out by how much she knew without people talking. There was no way.
“We haven’t talked properly in years... Our last actual conversation was a very long time ago, and you remember how that ended.” Pausing for a moment, she shook her head. “He’s probably just trying to be friendly, or make conversation since it’s a little awkward. It’ll get better, we’ll be back to normal soon. Whatever normal is now, at least.”
“We hardly know each other anymore,” she continued, looking towards the concrete. They had fallen out of touch after what happened. Those were important years that they had missed out on. She was looking forward to getting to know him again.
“I know things aren’t going very well for them, but I don’t think he’s looking at me.” It felt so weird coming out of her mouth. The thought of Nero possibly feeling some type of way towards her. It was laughable. She ignored the fact it was making her heart race.
“I do hope they break up, though.”
Break | Seven
royalcerulean:
“ – and I’m telling you that it’s not like that,” At this point in a heated argument between the significant other, Nero couldn’t tell if his pleas changed into exhaustion. He had finished his shift about half an hour ago when the bickering had blossomed away from the coworkers and customers of his job, but to still be in the area was stressful enough. Words full of disdain continued to fill the air and he was beginning to wonder just how much more he could take. All the ‘you never spend enough time with me’ and the ‘I barely see you anymore’ definitely triggered a pang of guilt.
Guilt. An emotion that was so familiar that Nero might as well call it his best friend due to the fact that his own girlfriend would make him feel this way, over and over again. Not anymore. Not today. “You’re the one who’s not understanding here,” Blue eyes that were cast downward and the voice that was filled with struggling patience were no more.
“You out of everyone should know what the hell I’ve been through and what I’m going through now.”
A voice of frustration sounded from Nero and he should’ve felt the guilt or regret when he saw the look on her face– but he didn’t. This was clearly his breaking point. The student’s mouth was slightly left open, ready for more words to fire back at Kyrie. That was supposed to be the case anyways, until she had turned to walk away with tears brimming at her eyes.
Cerulean eyes followed after her until someone else had caught his sight. “Oh,” Great. he breathed at the sight of his childhood friend who had obviously been standing there and listening for awhile. He had forgotten that it was Seven’s turn to pick him up from work. I give up.
“You weren’t supposed to see that, y’know?”
Do we need anything at the house while I’m here? I think we need milk. And maybe some breakfast foods--
As the student walked through the sliding glass doors of the grocery store, she was hit with a cool wave of air conditioning and the sound of raised voices. One of which, was very familiar. She was confronted with the scene of her childhood friend and his-- her-- in an especially bad argument.
Of course, this was no place for her. But there was no way she wasn’t going to make sure he was okay. She walked passed the arguing couple to the assortment of fruits, pretending to give a care about what they looked and felt like. All the while, she was paying very close attention to what was going on.
It made her angry to hear her speaking the way she was, making him angry the way he was getting. It seemed like she was nothing but trouble towards him anymore, and although she wished to speak up-- was it really her place? Probably not. Sice and Seven shared the same views on the girl. It didn’t feel right and it was awful to see someone they cared about dealing with someone like that.
When she walked through the doors and left, Seven took that as a cue to make her way towards Nero. He was not going to be happy for a while, and she wasn’t about to let that slide for too long. Hoping he’d possibly lean on her and open up about what happened, she waved weakly at the other, holding the car keys in her hand.
“I’m sorry about that,” she replied, offering the other a slight smile. “Want to go for a drive and get some food?”

royalcerulean:
Well, there was no way of getting out of the clutches of his own sister at this point. After all, Sice had the same amount of wit as the male, if not more. Not to mention the fact that the hardships they’ve faced growing up made an unbreakable bond, so much that it was impossible to hide a thing.
The flick on his forehead might as well have flicked him back to reality too– the reality of him digging the hole deeper for himself anyways. Nero ran his tongue against his teeth in distaste when the younger one had asked– what is so special about Seven? Cerulean eyes flickered between the one on the couch and the one who had her head cocked sideways.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he replied hopelessly while taking another hit to the head. The incident that occurred between Nero and Seven’s teenage years put a dent somewhere in their relationship. Now, only casual conversations and few words were exchanged. “I’ll just catch my breath here, but if you two end up dying from the sun, then I’ll come to the rescue.” he replied to the silver-haired one, eyes steady on her.
There was nothing like staying cool, especially with how hot the weather was outside. Still on the floor and leaning against the couch, the male flipped through the pages of the photo album. If times weren’t so bad enough to take these damn pictures, then just when did it start to go wrong? A huff of sarcasm escaped his lips at the thought. Either way, to be able to have something like this was nice, especially to see Sice’s smiling face. Doing that much until they were able to move out made him feel less of a failure.
It was like that for awhile, just flipping through the pictures and recalling the memories associated to them. It only got more difficult to flip through when Nero noticed that the photo album wasn’t complete and that there was less pictures with less smiles on them. “Huh,” he sighed out and decided that it was better to stop before he hit the pages that had nothing at all. Placing the book on the coffee table in front of him, the student was on his feet now and making his way across the apartment.
“You girl’s aren’t sun burnt yet are ya?” he called out and leaned against the door way. “I can handle the rest if you need me to,”
Thanks to spending the last bit of time being able to work in the cool air conditioning of the apartment, she was content with the heat outside despite how much she had loathed it just an hour before. There wasn’t much left to bring back inside, she realized, after taking a good look inside the truck. It would be easy on the two to finish it up themselves. If they moved fast enough, the heat wouldn’t be able to take a real toll on them before they finished.
“So ‘m thinkin’ we haul ‘em out first, an’ then we drag em’ inside once the truck’s empty.”
It seemed like the best plan. Stacking them up outside the door while they kept to the shade of the truck, then quickly running them inside and trying to avoid the sun as much as possible. It was a solid plan with a fast pace. The sooner they finished, the faster they would be back inside with the gift of central air. Something Sice hadn’t had the luxury of living in until this move.
There were quite a few luxuries she would learn to get used to, now.
“So,” She started, gaze drifting off to her friend as she dropped a box at the opening of the truck. “Any idea wha’ he was on about earlier?” It was weird, to say the least. She considered Seven like her sister. In any case, despite Seven, she thought Nero would think the same. A few funny baby pictures shouldn’t have gotten him worked up. Not that she minded. Something to slip up on the thing he considered a girlfriend, tucked away for later. Whether his reaction held merit or not, it would still upset her.
She hauled out a few more boxes before her brother had come out to check, eyes rolling as soon as his mouth opened. “Doin’ jus’ fine with our system, thanks.” She bit, brushing the bangs from her vision. There were only a few boxes left in the truck to pull out, and then they could start hauling them inside. All they had to worry about for the rest of the day was unpacking enough to get settled for the night. They could order take out for dinner and plug in the television. Eat a nice meal on the floor.
It would be peaceful.
“Oh--” stopping mid sentence, the student’s violet eyes grew wide at what Sice was asking.
Hopefully Sice wouldn’t notice-- Unlikely.
“We can set up our kitchen first and then order a pizza or something, yeah? Everyone’s gonna get angry around here soon if we don’t get some food,” she laughed lightly, it was still kind of serious. The hunger was starting to set in. “When was the last time we ate?”

This is such a pain in the ass. A grunt sounded from the male as he lifted a box filled with god knows what. What the hell is in here anyway?! Squinted eyes due to the sun and confusion tried to take a peek in the loose package, but no such luck on figuring out who this one belonged to. Beads of sweat began to drip down his cheek and he wondered–
“Hey! When’s my break?!” Nero shouted, hoping one of the girl’s would hear. The door was open, after all. Blue eyes stared up at the apartment that they had just arrived to not long ago hoping for a reply, but at the same time, not expecting one. “Alright then,” the male muttered to himself and finally decided that there was no choice but to do it alone.
Slam. The sound of the heavy load Nero was carrying fell to the ground and another breath escaped his lips. The shade from the apartment would be his savior from the sun outside. The sound of the other’s talking in the living room caught his attention, especially when his sister said – what?
“– Nero’s Baby pictures?”
“Oh shit,” He took long strides across the apartment even though he knew it was too late. His life was officially over. Did it have to be Seven? A wince was on his face when he had heard his childhood friend giggle at the sight of the sight of his baby pictures.
As for her question, that was a different story. The male took the edge of his shirt and used it to wipe at the sweat that was on his face and answered back. “I hate to disappoint ya girly, but that’s just my face,” Attempting to hide the slight embarrassment he felt, Nero took the picture from the book and waved it away from her sight with a lifted brow and a smirk on his lips.
“I’m sure the baby pictures of Sice with spaghetti sauce all over her face would be more interesting to ya anyways.” The student took a seat on the floor and leaned against the couch that Seven had claimed. “You owe me for showin’ that stuff to her,” The emphasis on the last word was unintentional, but he was too busy slapping a rolled up newspaper against Sice’s leg.
“Both of you quit slackin’ and bring some shit in here,”
“Yer face? Please. Y’never looked a’ me tha’ way.”
She smirked at her brother, knowing full well he made sure to raise her with a smile on his face – someone had to do it. He always tried to act cool when Seven was around, though, and she could only get him to smile with her when they were alone. She was hoping, maybe, that that would change slowly, now that they would be sharing a living space. Only time would tell.
“Sure,” she scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Sev’s seen plen’y ‘a pictures from when I was a kid.” She crossed her arms. “An’ I’m sure ‘ve done more embarrassin’ thin’s aroun’ her since.”
She caught the way he addressed the other, brow raising quizzically as she leaned in, ignoring the annoyance at her thigh. “Wha’s so special abou’ her?” Her head cocked to the side, taking a moment to assess his reaction before standing up straight and whacking him upside the head. Smartass, giving her a reaction like that. There was no way he knew, anyways.
“We’ve been doin’ plen’y in here, y’know. Bu’ it yer weak ass can’ carry some shi’ up th’stairs ‘n I suppose we can assist.” She rolled her eyes, giving her brother another good flick in the forehead before heading for the door.
She always enjoyed teasing him, considering it a twisted way of their showing affection to each other. Hugs and kisses were few and far between, but there were moments where even those felt appropriate – once a year, maybe, to keep the quota up. All that mattered was that they were together no matter what, snark and all.
Her gaze fell on Seven, head jutting toward the open door. “C’mon, he’s gonna whine abou’ his back if we don’ dig out s’more boxes.”
“That’s just my face,” he said, but she knew the way he looked at his sister. Of course it was sarcastic, and joking, but he didn’t even look at his girlfriend like that. Seven had seen glimpses throughout the years, but nothing close to the way he treated his family. And she was going to ignore that ‘girly’ comment. What the hell was that?
It was true that the future student had seen many pictures of Sice throughout the years. The three of them had their share of pictures all together, out playing in Seven’s backyard and spending time at her house. Her parents had been hospitable to the two, considering how many children they had taken in and helped throughout the years. There was never a dull moment when the trio was together.
“I mean, we got through the teenage years together. I don’t think anything gets more embarrassing than that,” Seven added, grimacing a bit as she attempted to suppress the images from her mind. Those were not particularly fond memories, but it definitely happened.
Letting out a weak laugh at Sice’s commentary, Seven ran fingers through her long silver hair. Sure, she trained countless hours during the week teaching and attending lessons at the dance school-- but lifting boxes and furniture up and down stairs was hard work. “Alright, alright. Let’s go.”
As she stood up, she raised her arms up above her head in attempt to stretch out some of her tired achy muscles. She slowly began to walk towards the hallway Sice had motioned to. It was still so surreal to believe that they were finally moving in together -- something they had only dreamed of as kids. Her best friend in the whole world, and her brother who she cared about a lot in one house. A sudden burst of energy at the thought of what was to come ignited the will power to get everything sorted.
“Only a few more boxes downstairs. You coming with, Nero?” Seven asked, looking back towards her childhood friend. There was hope now that the two would begin talking again, after the awkward incident in their early teen years.

Moving was never easy. It was something the young woman had become used to over the years, ever since they had taken that first step out of the life they wanted to forget. It may have been hard, but she always found it refreshing to set up in a new place, especially knowing it always got better.
And this time, Seven would be joining them.
She loved living with her brother, and even though they were barely separate in age, thought of him like a father as well. But to be able to live with her friend since childhood was almost like a dream come true. They had spent many a night having sleepovers and spending as much time together as possible, but it wasn’t the same as living under one roof. When the opportunity arose, they grasped at it, and for once Sice couldn’t keep her excitement at bay. Normally so cool and collected, she had been counting down the days until they were able to move in.
They had just barely dragged all the boxes and furniture into the new place, and after a short break, she had begun digging through and sorting things as best she could. it was only when she happened upon a certain book that she wound up dropping her progress in order to… well, embarrass her brother.
She walked into the living room, waving a large book in the air with gold leaf lettering titling it, “Photo Album”. She dropped the book on Seven’s lap, a mischievous glitter in her eyes.
“Wanna see Nero’s baby pictures?”
With an exasperated sigh, Seven dropped on the tarp covered couch for her first break of the day.
“Finally,” she breathed, beginning to stretch her sore arms. Not only were they carrying furniture and boxes up flights of stairs, but it was HOT. Seven’s violet eyes trailed across the room, assessing the situation they were now faced with-- Putting everything together, of course! The thought of moving another muscle was almost too much to bear at the moment.
What did make it better was the fact that she was now going to be living with two of her favourite people. Life back at home was quite the chaotic mess, and she was more than happy to get some breathing room. Knowing the siblings for years, it was the beginning of an exciting new chapter in all of their lives.
“Huh--” staring into her lap, a small smirk began to form across her lips. “Of course I do. I’ve known you guys for how many years and still haven’t seen these?”
Gently opening the cover of the old and worn out photo book, Seven’s amusement only grew stronger. A photo of a very young Nero looking-- who would have guessed it?-- unimpressed at whoever was taking the picture. He was an adorable little person, with bright eyes and a head full of white hair. Would she admit that out loud? Absolutely not.
The trend continued through the photos until Sice showed up, same as her brother, with thick snow white hair. Then he looked happy and that was still true to the day. Nothing could separate those two. It was clear to Seven from the day she first met the siblings.
“Hey Nero, have you always been grumpy?” she asked in a teasing manner, raising her voice to reach the male in another room.
