Finished watching Trigun Stampede/Stargaze and while I really loved it. I can definitely see where people (especially those who are fans of the source materials) would not like it.
Its a very flawed show and this season wasn't as strong as the first. But sometimes I really just want a happy ending and I feel like I got that with this LMAO. This show was by no means perfect but I am pleased all the same.
I think the series suffered from not getting longer seasons while also not getting some of the more dramatic story telling elements. And while I'm happy some things turned out how they did, the pacing for the series was weird. We spent so much time in slow moments which can be nice, but then the more dramatic parts, the meat of the story doesn't really get its time to shine.
Also just, visually I loved this series, same with the soundtrack.
I completely agree! I think there was something that happened in between production of both series' and the time between when Stargaze was being created. Because given what we saw at the end of Stampede, which they completely retconned, I feel like that's the way they WANTED to go, but in the end - for whatever reason - could NOT go, and thus we got what had in Stargaze.
Were there some things that I wish were included or done differently? Of course, everyone has those. But am I happy with the ultimate end result? Abso-fucking-lutely! I just wanted Wolfwood to live and my boys be happy. I got both, that's all I need.
I know some of the discourse revolves around StampGaze not being like the manga, Trimax. And I think (maybe?) people forget it was NEVER supposed to be a 1:1 adaption of the manga. It was supposed to be it's own iteration, it's own thing for old and new fans to enjoy. No where was it said it was a remake or a newer adaption of the manga. The manga was completed and put to rest, and the creator wanted to do something new and different with Stampede and Stargaze, which he accomplished.
I can understand the upset and anger, but at the end of the day, as much as some things I wish that were done weren't, I'm still able to enjoy and differentiate them as separate pieces of media that I will forever love dearly.
Trigun, Vash and Wolfwood have my whole heart, always.
I feel like I'm one of the very, very, very few people that actually just... enjoyed Stargaze? Like, I agree there are some things that were annoying or they could have done better, yada yada. But I'm just... happy we got Trigun in the year of our Dystopian 2026?
I'm also really happy with how it ultimately ended for them. It's all I ever wanted, and I sobbed. I'm just... happy for them, you know?

Memorial Blood Center declared a blood emergency on Tuesday, Jan 13. MBC is the blood supplier for both tier 1 trauma hospitals in the metro area (Hennepin County Medical Center and North Memorial Health).
Reach out to your neighbors â especially if you know they are staying home right now â and ask if they need groceries or toiletry items. Offer to pick up prescriptions, give rides, or shovel their driveway. If you know them well, bring them a treat that you know they'll enjoy. Or just ask them how they're doing and let them know you are there to support.
Connect with any of the orgs above and see if they are looking for volunteers.

Connect with your local school's admin office and/or their PTA. It's ok to reach out even if you don't have kids at the school. PTAs are organizing mutual aid for school families, safe rides, school observers.
Find an official protest or other event via Indivisible, 50501, FREE AMERICA, or MIRAC. Students at many high schools are staging walk-outs; if your local school is doing this, reach out to school leadership or the PTA and ask how you can support as a community member.
Join the effort to stop Hilton from housing ICEÂ by booking hotel rooms and then cancelling at the last minute. This action can be done from home! The effort is being organized by Sunrise Movement, who are telling activists to target specific hotels one-by-one. More info:Â SHUT DOWN HILTON
Find people in your area who are actively monitoring ICEÂ and/or stationing themselves in high-traffic areas and ask how you can help. Check for local FB events where people are organizing and just show up.
At minimum, read the COPAL Handbook before you go out to observe. The DFL, Monarca, and other orgs have been hosting online trainings for constitutional observers (though these fill up quickly).
When you see ICE in action, start recording. Be as loud and as disruptive as possible: honk your horn, set off your car alarm, blow your whistle. Let people know that ICE is in the area. If you see someone being detained, try to get their name and a phone number to call their emergency contact.
If you do not feel comfortable observing ICE in person, there are ways you can support from home. Just ask the people who are organizing in your area. I have social anxiety, and I had never participated in any kind of political action before this past Saturday. If I can do it, you can!
Local organizers are requesting that people who help monitor ICE DO NOT participate in 1-to-1 mutual aid efforts, as these can put the families you are helping at risk.
If you have friends/acquaintances who are sympathetic but not politically active, reach out to them. Show them that they're not alone in feeling helpless. Pick a few low-commitment actions from this list and do them together.
I want to try to blog/post more, but I never know what to post about. I don't do much and tumblr seems to vibrant all the time, and I'm just... not lol. Not anymore, at least.
I also want to try writing more this year. I miss it, sometimes. But everything I think of has been done 1238249832 times before and done better than I could ever write, so I end up thinking 'what's the point?' when there's far better out there already.
I don't even really have friends I talk to anymore. I have maybe 2 people I talk to on a semi-regular basis and that's only sometimes, because we try to keep in touch. The only person I talk to on a mostly regular basis is my brother, but that's because we live in the same house currently lol.
I just feel like it's so much harder to find friends when you're older. Because life just be out here lifeing.
Holy shit, that me. I was NOT expecting a reply. I don't even reply to people all that much like this, but I was in a lot of pain this morning while browsing twitter and it was a spur of the moment thing due to his post having been about new years. I had been hoping that the new year would be off to a good start, but I ended up in Urgent Care last night after work for an hour while waiting to be seen to get some antibiotics since my doctor's office is closed until Monday and didn't want to take the chance of getting worse by waiting or ending up having to be in the ER.
So, feeling shitty about life, and sorry for myself, I replied on a whim, not expecting anything in return. I saw this post on tumblr before going to twitter to see. What a very sweet man!
I swear to GOD this manga never fails to make me cry. Sakura, my baby. -sobs- Finally finding out more about his backstory, and it's just as traumatic as I assumed it would be.
Knowing what we know now, and remembering how he was at the start of the manga, this boy has grown so much throughout the manga. I can't wait to read more, find out more, and see where he goes from here.
Not only are they changing him for the better, he's changing them.
Vampire Hunter D was the first anime I ever watched. I was still in high school at the time, and saw there was a vampire movie on the SciFi channel at like, 1am in the morning. I remember begging my mom to let me stay up to watch it. I was super into vampires at the time (not that it ever went away xD). I begged and begged and begged. She finally relented if I promised not to complain in the morning when getting ready for school. I promised and sat up and waited to watch it. I remember it was airing a bunch of anime movies at the time, one of them being Robot Carnival, which aired before it.
I remember being surprised by how violent and bloody it was, surprised by the amount of nudity. I hadn't seen anything like it before that (I was sheltered, media wise, up until then xD). But it was still the best thing I ever saw and I had no regrets, even if I was deadass tired when I got up in the morning lmao. It still has a special place in my heart. It was my first anime ever, before I even knew what anime even was. I remember being stoked when the 2000s version came out. I watched that too.
PLEASE. PLEASE, GOD, PLEASE LET THIS BE TRUE. I don't care if it's a reboot or a continuation, I just want more! I hope the anime makes a comeback in 2026! This anime is one of the very few that I miss the most. I am gonna have to do a re-watch soon, just cuz.
