Revelstoke is a beautiful community surrounded on all sides by amazing wilderness. With this pristine location comes the inevitable conflict between humans and wildlife. An adequately managed conservation program can reduce the number of these conflicts by educating the local community, enforcing legislation...

My daughter moved back to Revelstoke on the weekend because of it’s beauty and wildlife. Yesterday morning she messaged me extremely upset to say they killed a bear in the middle of town. The bear was merely looking for food, but because there was no Conservation Officer for the town, they called the police for help. They shot the bear. I’m not sure why police in a town with wildlife like this would not have tranquilizer guns on hand is beyond me. Please sign the petition to bring back a Conservation Officer to Revelstoke who will know how to properly remove bears from town without killing them. I’d like to hashtag this as AllLivesMatter ..but wouldn’t want to start an uproar by the people fighting that specific battle...but as I see it ..lives are lives, humans, animals, trees.
