Finally back to working on plushes after 18 months. Feeling REALLY REALLY rusty, and tbh, a bit unmotivated. We'll see how this goes.

Finally back to working on plushes after 18 months. Feeling REALLY REALLY rusty, and tbh, a bit unmotivated. We'll see how this goes.
Just found this old fella in a box of my kids' old stuffed animals. My kid and I made it for a presentation he had to do on "Who is Your Hero?" in 3rd or 4th grade. I made the clothes and hair, kid did the doll and face.
Last plush of 2021: a girl Curious George (Georgette?) based off of photos/measurements of the two vintage Curious George plushes on the left/right, but downsized significantly. The client made her the dress in the photo. She originally was wearing a removeable red tshirt I made, to match the inspiration plushes.
2021 end of the year review.
Took the year off to work on stuff I wanted to do. Overall, it was a bit of a bust, to be honest. I only worked on 2 designs I wanted to finalize this year, completing one of them--the revision of the shotgun shell. But despite that, I got a lot done. 7 baby blankets, 8 new plushes drafted, 8 gondolas made, and sold an older plush not pictured here, as well as spending some time making ornaments, and doing some paper collage work. 24 plushes total on the year. Not bad, in the midst of juggling big life stuff.
Just finished this little guy a bit ago. Felt Kingfisher ornament with sequins and beading. Pattern here, from Downeast Thunder Farm, though I added a head and belly gusset, to make him more 3D.
Basically done. Just need to add the velcro on the back of the shirt so it's removeable.
Flannel baby blanket and matching hedgehog
Ferret plush with presentation bow
Received a wonderful bear shaped gift from my friend @whiteantcrawls . Featured in the second picture are two other things I commissioned from her.
Please follow her blog, and if she's ever offering take the chance to buy some premium plush friends.
He is rather bear shaped, isn't he? :D Glad he made it there in one piece. Outside of my kids, I think you have the most of my plushes. Thank you for the shill. I appreciate it--and you!
Was asked to make him a presentation bow with a tiny cowbell, so I did. It'll be removed before the baby plays with him.
Polar bear and baby blankets commission. Eyes are hand embroidered, nose is wool felt. Ear linings and foot pads are a galaxy print on Minky from Spoonflower. The rest is various Minkys.
Camel made it to CGT on /toy/
Blue elephant plush with matching baby blanket.
(Pattern is originally from Carolyn Hall's book, Soft Animals From A to Z, but heavily modified. I added a head gusset, redid the ears, completely reworked the belly gusset, eliminated the tusks, repositioned the eyes, and reshaped the back and belly sides.)
Azure Minky, with Denim (?) Paisley embossed Minky, eyes are embroidered.
Shotgun shell pillows/plushes. 24" L x 8" diameter. Inside is a standard bolster pillow. Comes in two types--silver or brass head/rim, with contrasting primer. All have ridged red body, and pleated end.
Packing him up to ship out to CA.
Each of my plushes gets placed in a waterproof bag, boxed, and surrounded by packing peanuts, so it doesn't shift in transit, and doesn't get crushed while shipping. I include a thank you note as well, and get tracking for the client.
This is the biggest plush I've had to ship, so I had to frankenstein a box from a Uhaul big screen TV box.
