“Sure thing Mr Kilgrave! I’m the majority owner of a multinational company and a member of the X-men.”
“Honestly I’ve had weirder valentines day but this is one crazy one. I need a box of mini doughnuts stat. Like ones that are good for stress eating. Being chased by crazy college kids is not how I wanted to spend my night and I need sugar now.”
“Just call me the doughnut fairy.”

That’s an excellent QUESTION, really. Emma had yet to find something to entertain her BEFORE she’d retired for the day. She moves to sit on the edge of the couch, FINGERS dragging through the silken feathers. Her lips pull into a frown. “GRADING is incredibly tedious so I left – but now I’m faced with the conundrum of just watching OLD reruns of Project Runway.”
Warren buries his face in the cushions mufflinf a contented hum. Usually, he’s sensitive about people touching the wings. He wasn’t a walking petting zoo. But when it happens Warren tends to into a cat.
“Woooow” he deadpans, though its a muffled deadpan and he’s not particularly caring what comes out of his mouth draped over the couch. “That show’s only fun when they fight. I prefer the drag race one.”
“ — this is way more frustrating than it should be. forget my MID-LIFE crisis, i think i’m going to have an ongoing crisis. forever. ”
“Please, don’t. You’re freaking me out here kiddo. What’s up?”

there’s that perverse joy that she’s always felt, the frustrated noises only encourages her to toy further – how many buttons did she have to press till he stopped reacting to her the way he did. her smirk matches his, accepting the challenge in her usual graceful way. eyelashes battering lightly, to break up the intense stare. she wouldn’t crumble beneath blue eyes, violet iris’s remaining stern despite the coy expression of her lips. ‘ i regret making you a cup of tea, as you seem so disinterested in drinking it.’ bluntly her response came, and in an instance she’s broken contact again – having pushed herself up onto the counter, cup now resting daintily between fingers and pressed to her lips. ‘ what aren’t you regretting then ? the crashing through my window ? the drunken escapades ? ‘ she questioned, her tone light. ‘ you’re hung up, drunk and extremely desperate. i think i’d regret more sleeping with you in this state than you would,’ a sip, ‘ perhaps i’m protecting myself warren, have you ever considered that? maybe – i can’t deal with you doing this anymore –’ how was she supposed to feel ? an object of lust ? only thought about after copious amount of alcohol ? a mean to an ends ? call romance dead, she didn’t really feel her heart flutter at the ideas.
With a roll of the eyes he took a gulpful of the tea, mouth burning in the process. The mug is set back on the counter and he leans over it, sulking over the steaming up. The crash is hitting hard and it really has very little to do with the alcohol. He glances up at her from the corner of his eye, “It’s really not fair -The telepathy.” he comments. A sip. The tea’s actually helping. “No I hadn’t.” he admits. He knew why of course, entertaining that possibility would mean entertaining the idea she still thought of him beyond sex, and he’d fallen down that rabbit hole enough times. “I thought... this was what you wanted. No strings. That... this was the only way we could exist now.” he sighs. .. Fuck. “I’m more than hung up Bets.”. A hand ran through the mess of blond hair, as he pushed off from the counter. “I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing okay? I’m not you. I can’t move on. I don’t want to. But you don’t want a relationship with me, you don’t want this anymore. This is fucking agony.”

❝ a real ANGEL you are . ❞ she rolled her eyes . ❝ dad’s pretty understanding . maybe i’m paranoid because of nothing but then again i’m going against him , then again not for the first time … ❞ now she wasn’t even making sense to HERSELF . ❝ sure , i’ll call you once it’s over . ❞
“ha. ha. Worst case scenario he locks you away in military school and you’re never seen from or heard from again. It’s not that bad?”

For a moment, this is just what she needs. To hit, to throw, to fight. The tension in her chest is pushed out by pure adrenaline. She ducks to avoid a fist, drives her own into his stomach. It’s loud. It’s messy. It’s chaos. And she loves it.
She grabs someone by the collar, cocks her fist back, but the shotgun blast startles her into dropping him. She glares at the bartender, steps slowly back. Her eyes dart between Warren and the gun – she’s not bulletproof, even if he is. “They started it,” she scoffs, turning away from the bartender. If he shoots her in the back, she might not even care.
“You might wanna think about which assholes you let drink here,” she calls back, wrenching the door open. “Come on, we’ll find better goddamn places to drink,” she says to Warren.
Warren releases the man in his hold, who’s sliding to the floor limp by this point. He dusts his hands, smoothing back his hair. There’s blood on his fists and none of it his. On the way out, he kicks a guy on the ground who tried to come at him with a knife.
“And that you just got beat up by a girl and me, a guy who spends an hour on his hair every morning.” He flips them off as he leaves.
Outside he rummages around in his pocket before finding the squashed pack of ciggarettes. He offers her one before lighting up. “Same old shit everywhere you go. I shoulda warned you. Fuckers.”.

One of the prints I’m doing for the upcoming Mid-Ohio Con! I’m doing a set of X-Men tarot cards, just the major arcana but still. I’ll slowly be posting stuff up until the con. :]
Judgement - Archangel/Warren Worthington III
Beautiful work!

She gives him a long look, then smacks his shoulder. Not hard, but hard enough. “Fuck you, you had me going,” she said, shaking her head. “And you should most definitely not have kids. Not if you think goddamn boxes are the way to go,” she quipped. “Don’t think I trust you with a pigeon, let alone offspring.” The awkward moment has passed, she can almost pretend she didn’t nearly meltdown in the alleyway.
Inside, with whiskey down her throat, she feels even more solid. It sits heavily in her freshly-empty stomach, but that works for her. Anchors her to the earth. So does hitting assholes who deserve it. She smirks at him. “Easy,” she said simply, as the man approached them.
Warren offers a much nicer greeting than she would’ve. Not that it’s received anymore warmly. She leans back, putting her head between Warren and the, admittedly, huge stranger. “Fuck off, Sasquatch. Maybe after we’ve had our drink,” she says pointedly.
The man’s attention turns to her. “Ain’t talkin’ to you, sweetheart. Unless you’re with this mutie freakhole,” he grumbles, reaching out a hand to shove Warren back. She reaches up, grabs his wrist. Squeezes hard.
“Firstly,” she says simply. Sasquatch tries to squirm away, but she has him held tight. “I’m no one’s goddamn sweetheart. Secondly, yes, he’s with me.” She knocks back the rest of her drink in one long gulp, then tosses the glass to the side. “And thirdly,” she says, standing up. “You picked the wrong goddamn night to screw with me.”
With that, she twists his wrist until he cries out. Then she grabs his collar with her free hand, and throws him. He lands across the bar, smashing into people and tables.Instant chaos. Just how she likes it.
He matches her gaze, then he’s tossing his head back in laughter again. “My daughter, Warren the fourth. -Oww! Jeeze woman you got an arm on you.”. He’s rubbing his arm, shit eating grin on his face. “But they’d have little wings! They’d be cute as hell.” he says nudging her as they walked along. “I’d get a nanny duh. Maybe a little bird cage so they don’t fly off... Kidding.”
He’s preparing to say something boring and placating when they come over, maybe splash some cash around to smooth things over. Horrible influences of Charles Xavier and the laser eyed dweeb at work. Only, his super new friend, Jessica has a different idea.
"Oh, fuck.”. He laughs
The guy catapults over the bar. There’s a moment of shock. Then tables are being turned over, bottles smashed. The skinheads are coming, and they’re pissed. Warren reaches over the bar and turns up the stereo, adding music to the cocaophony of yelling, chairs being dragged, people stumbling over themselves to reach them. Hell is coming in a handbasket anyway so fuck it. “Cheers.” he toasts her before slamming his drink.
He kicks a stool in the path of the first few. A guy goes flailing and collides with Warren’s foot. The rest don’t go that easy. A hop in the air and he’s jumping in the thick of it. The guy he crashes into seems very confused. A quick knee to the head puts him out of his misery. The rest Warren plays with, taunting their beer bellies and shitty mohawks as he laughs his way around their wild swings. One goes for the wings, and then it’s arms bent back over elbows and heads smashed against table ledges. Never go for the wings.
He’s just starting to have fun when a shotgun blast goes off. Bits of ceiling sprinkle over him. “THAT’s ENOUGH!” cries the barman with his shotgun pointed at him then at Jessica. “Hey, man.” Warren’s got his arms wrapped around the neck of a guy who’s trying his best to guage his eyes out and he’s trying to sound reasonable. “We were just lookin’ for a drink.”. “-NO.” the man cuts him off. “I know yer kind. All ya do is bring trouble. Now get out.” he cocks the shotgun. “Or I’ll blow you n’ your friend to kingdom come and ya can peace with ya God for what you are.”
psionicstiletto:
‘ the consensus is that the string of the yoyo’s going to snap one day –’ it wasn’t. in fact, it was a betting pool. but she could never be bothered to listen in long enough to find out the odds, otherwise she’d be betting her own money in it. tea almost spills as she feels the tension against silk fabric – yet still she remains the utmost grace, cups now discarded – almost forgotten – on marble counter. ( a waste if you ask her, after she went through all the trouble to brew him one as well. ) she doesn’t swat his hand away, nor does she mind the feeling. she loved him, and nothing for her would change that. she just didn’t want to change him – call her noble, call her self-sacrificing, she didn’t want to hurt him more than she already had. of course, him crawling back with puppy eyes and smooth words every time she pushed him away didn’t help with that incredible plan of hers. she kisses back, even if just for a second, just long enough to indulge that small part of her she allows to feel, but not longer enough for the taste of alcohol to reach her mouth. strong hands push against broad shoulders, breaking the touch – but not fully letting go. ‘ warren, you’re drunk. it’s – this isn’t right. you’re not in the right mind, please, don’t do something that you’re going to regret as soon as you get sober –’
“Heh.” He gives a snort at the analogy. Him as the bouncing yoyo, fated to endlessly spinning out of control on the end of her perfect little finger. As fitting as it was miserable. She doesn’t move away from his touch and he smirks, can feel her resistence fading. It would be easier, on them both, if he stopped doing this. But when she kisses back, he’s spinning endlessly again, lost in her scent, her taste, the feel of her, like nectar he’s been starved of for far too long. In a second he’s cut off. Warren groans in furstration, head rolling back. But he stills himself, body held rigid, hands braced on either side against the counter, blue eyes fix on violet. “You’re thinking too much. What’s life without a few regrets?” His grin is sharp, challenging. “Stop protecting me from myself. I’m not regretting anything. Are you?”
bvtwvman:
❝ oh how LUCKY i am to have a friend like you . ❞ the red head was half smiling and half smirking . ❝ i don’t know … right now i’m guessing that I should just come clean and pray for the best . ❞
“You really are. I’m a blessing.” he grins back. “That sounds... like no fun whatsoever. Lemme know how it goes. Chinese food and bad movies after?”
