that being said I'm not actually always opposed to conflict free fluff I am just opposed to the characters having their claws filed down for it. you can stick them in a coffee shop au it should just still feel like you sat the two worst most insane people on earth in a starbucks

#I need Lelouch to run an independent shop on the same street as a major chain #and be playing 5D chess mind games to sabotage the chain's manager and get it shut down #meanwhile Suzaku is training as a beat cop to put a stop to all these vandalism and petty theft attacks #and the major chain gives him a blue light discount which Lelouch finds abhorrent #but he can't stop making out with him in the alley behind the shop even as he won't shut up about #how vandalism is just as bad as assault actually and this neighbourhood will descend into chaos if he doesn't do something about it

I think we fail to talk about how post-reveal, Suzaku is objectively the one absolutely obsessed with lelouch. While lelouch is focused on his battle against imperialism, suzaku dwells on the betrayal and anger he has with lelouch. He is permanently thinking about whether or not lelouch regained his memories. Every battle he is always seeking zero, every event he is always seeking zero, even political talk that doesn't concert zero he still brings up zero. His very being is permanently fixated on him.
