POINT OF ORIGIN: Emma Frost is broad strokes of Earth 616 and Wolverine and the X-Men. I mainly take it up to the Astonishing X-Men run with snippets from future comics such as running the Hellfire Incorporation. I mainly base her from the Grant Morrison run. I ignore Phoenix 5 etc cause its just awful. 

ABILITIES/SKILLS: Emma Frost’s primary mutant power is telepathy. She is capable of extraordinary psionic feats, including the telepathic standards of: broadcasting and receiving thoughts, mind-control, altering perceptions and memories, psychic shielding, astral projection, mind switching, brain engram modification, mental sedation, induction of mental pain via touch. She is also able to boost or activate a mutant’s powers through access of their brain’s neurological pathways, and can communicate across global distances unaided. The exact level of her telepathic power is said to rival the abilities of Charles Xavier himself. She has also been referred to as a “psi of the highest order,” been ranked among the five most skilled telepaths on the planet, and has demonstrated the ability to overcome more powerful telepaths through greater experience and skill. She excels in astral combat.Emma is classified as an “omega-class” telepath and a “psi of the highest order”. Frost manifested a secondary mutation giving her the ability to transform her body into organic diamond. In this form, Frost is translucent and retains mobility while being almost invulnerable, and able to support incredible amounts of weight. Her diamond form was at least strong enough for her to tear out of bonds and, in a single punch, send a target soaring across a room and straight through a wall. Emma’s diamond body is virtually tireless as she does not produce fatigue poisons and has no need for water nor food. She is also numbed from emotion, pain and empathy, impervious to cold, and resistant to heat in this form. Despite this high level of invulnerability, her diamond form has a single molecular flaw, which if exploited – such as being shot with a diamond bullet – can cause her body to shatter. Though the exact location of the flaw in her diamond body has not been stated outright, clues point to it being located in between her eyes. Frost cannot access her psychic powers in diamond form because of the suppression by her diamond form’s adamantine luster. It is also stated that Emma has telepathic immunity while in her diamond form, having total shielding from psychic invasion and manipulation. Her diamond form is also stated to emit low-level ultraviolet light, causing it to glow in darkness. Among this, Emma is a skilled tactician, leader, teacher and has self-defense training.

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT EMPEROR DOOM? Emma Frost isn’t particularly keen on him. Like Sebastian Shaw before him, she sees nothing but an ambitious man who has overstretched his reach. She knows men like Doom. She was like someone like Doom. In public however, it seems that Emma has turned her back on the X-Men and has made the move to appear in Doom’s favour. However, if Emma knows anything, it was tactics and how to outsmart men who were too ambitious for their own good.

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT THE BATTLES? ARE THEY TRYING TO AVOID THEM? OR ARE THEY EAGER TO JUMP IN? Emma isn’t one for battles. She is far used to tearing someone down without even trying. After all, when does a telepath need to fight? Of course, Emma would just put someone out with her telepathy without really trying. However, she does not intend to get involved in the fights but rather put her name behind them. It meant it was a way to keep Doom sweet as well as an eye for potential ally’s or, dare she say, a way to indirectly eliminate someone.

WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER ACCEPTED THEIR JOB POSITION? WILL THEY USE IT TO GET CLOSER TO DOOM? OR WILL THEY USE IT EXPLOIT HIM? OR DO THEY SIMPLY LIKE THEIR JOB? Under the watchful eye of Latverion, Emma seems to be in full support of Doom. Not only does she financially back him but she often shows up at whatever event or meetings he has. It was always best to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Especially if your enemy happened to one of the most powerful telepaths in existence with style. Emma knows how to manage the economics of Latverion and how to direct its funds.

Emma looked over at him as he mentioned her balancing act. “And would you have let me do it?” She asked, straight to the point. Scott was pragmatic but he was also chivalrous. She was not sure if that nature would kick in if he knew what she was going to do. As he mentioned putting words in his mouth, Emma’s back straightened up as she didn’t break eye contact. “What do you expect? As much as the X-Men like to play superhero, when it comes down to politics, they leave much to be desired.” Emma pointed out as she folded her arms. “This is strictly business.” Emma stated firmly. “I financially support him and that means mutants can continue to co-exist in our own community.” Walking over to him so she stood in front of him, she then spoke in a low tone just for Scott to hear. “And the closer I am to him, the more information I can feedback. Something we can exploit.”

Emma may of been an ice queen (to put it nicely) but one thing she never did was offer any falsehoods about just exactly who she was and, controversially, who she did not like. Emma was protective of mutants and, as history has it, she had no problem following through with what is necessary to do so. “Most people would pay for a minute of my time, Ms Page.” Emma made no secret that she already plucked her name from her mind. “Resilience?” Emma scoffed a little as she shook her head. “I could go on about the atrocities your people have caused but I am trying to be more...tolerable.” Emma made no attempt to hide her disdain however. “What profit do you gain from this exactly by taking our experiences?”

privacy  is  difficult  to  achieve  on  latverion.  krakoa  looks  mostly  the  same.  the  land  looks  the  same.  xavier’s  looks  similar,  if  not  exactly  how  he  remembers  it.  sometimes  it’s  difficult  to  parse  the  truth  from  memory.  none  of  it  offers  quite  the  comfort  he  would’ve  had  back  on  his  world.  he’s  just  grasping  for  the  closest  possible  thing,  shreds  of  comfort.  inviting  emma  into  this  other  version  of  the  treehouse,  the  one  he’s  made  into  something  of  a  home,  is  the  closest  thing  to  normal  he’s  felt  in  his  time  here.  ❛   there’s  vampires  lurking  around  my  school,  miss  frost.  now  may  be  a  good  time  to  tell  me  more  about  your  newfound  fondness  for  doctor  doom.   ❜  tone  cool,  impassive.  he  ruins  it  by  a  brush  of  his  hand  to  hers,  quietly  drawing  attention.  ❛   did  you  get  one  of  those  letters  ?   ❜

Of course she had to admit, things were a little awkward with the X-Men. She was pragmatic but she often forgot to include people’s feelings in what she did. She saw the practicalities but often forgot the complication of emotion. It was something Emma often chose not to deal with. Something the mutant leader had in common with her. At his tone, Emma looked back at him through the ruby lenses, letting him have his moment, even when their hands grazed. “I don’t know about you darling but I have been awfully busy trying to keep mutants alive.” Emma’s tone was sharp as her back straightened, never losing eye contact with him as she spoke. “Doom may be some pigheaded tyrant but he knows business. I can assure you an optic blast was not going to salvage our situation. I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. In return, mutants had their own land and the X-Men could continue on teaching.” Emma responded dryly, taking a step closer, hands falling to her hips. “I did what I have always done. I will be the villain if it means that mutants are safe.” Emma’s eyes searched his for a moment before she spoke again. “Believe it or not, I am not a complete monster anymore.”

Betsy sat upright at the sudden intrusion of another body in the booth with her. Angry words rose quickly to her lips, then she saw who was gracing her with her presence. Emma bloody Frost. She stilled her tongue before those words loosed themselves. “And here I thought you’d fancy yourself with men-in-waiting, holding grapes, cheese, and glasses of champagne for you to sip on. But I guess you’re allowed to prove me wrong once in a while.” Betsy scooted over with a wrought smirk on her face, allowing Emma to remain or seek solace in the booth across from her. “Interested in some starters? I was just about to order.”

Emma looked over at Betsy and raised her eyebrow at her as she spoke. At her assumption, Emma’s expression remained aloof in response. “I only entertain the company of alphas and even then, I find most to truly be pathetic.” Emma raised her glass to that statement before she took a long sip of her drink. “Oh goodness no. I wouldn’t eat here. I am sure it would just be some disgusting variation to these pizza balls I keep hearing about.” Emma’s lips curled in disdain before her cobalt eyes looked at Betsy. “How are you with all this happening?”

“miss frost,” he begins. “thanks for coming on such short notice.” he motions for her to take a seat across his table. “i’m sure you have a very hectic schedule, so i won’t beat around the bush.” the woman seems to be incredibly calm all things considered, almost cold to an extent. (how fitting of her name.) “i’m quite interested in understanding the relationship between mutants and the rest of latverion. i’m aware of the agreement between—” matt can’t even bring himself to calling him an emperor. “—doom and the mutants, how you all have a section of the planet dedicated to your kind. it would be nice to know how the area is being governed. since you’re quite involved with the whole of latverion, what’s your perspective about this?”

“Mr. Murdock.” She responded to his greeting though perhaps Matt’s was a little warmer than hers. “I’d say you have piqued my interest so I really hope this isn’t a colossal waste of my time.” Of course, Emma approached everything her life the same. As if it was hard cold business. Including relationships she held with other people. She was trying not to but it wasn’t something she had shook completely. Especially if she didn’t trust the other. Emma sat down and crossed her legs. Even though Matt was blind, Emma didn’t break eye contact. At his question, Emma didn’t move or even changed expression. However, her right eyebrow slowly raised. “My perspective is that mutants, no matter it being Latverion or whatever fresh hell we enter, will always be treated as second class citizens while sharing the space with hateful third class humans.” Emma’s response was sharp and direct. “The mutants have their area and Doom and I have an arrangement to secure that. Not my proudest deal but we’ve all had to make deals with the devil.” Emma leaned forward. “We have our own laws for our own people. We look after our own.” Her eyes narrowed at him. “What does a homo sapien lawyer want with mutant affairs? Another Sentinel bill perhaps?”

Emma was surprised to see Namor of all people to be present in Latverion. She was even more surprised that the confident Atlantean didn’t just wage an instant war on Doctor Doom. For all of his arrogance however, Namor wasn’t an idiot. To think so would be to underestimate him. Still, she had to admit she was surprised that he didn’t make any sort of commotion about his land being taken by Latverion. “Namor, darling, to what do I owe the pleasure?” She asked, leaning on the door frame.

Emma looked up at the other woman and her lips formed thin lines. You know what they say about mistakes of your past coming to haunt you? Well, this was one of the many things Emma did hold regret for. After what she did to Angelica, she had to admit to herself, that wasn’t her finest moment. She wanted to leave the girl well enough alone after everything had happened. She still had a lot to atone for so it seemed. Emma cleared her throat for a moment before she spoke up. “You were the last person I’d expect a visit from. Please, if you have a rehearsed scolding prepared, can we get that over with?” Perhaps not the best start but Emma was a little tired of people trying to lecture her.

Emma’s eyes watched the other as she made her way through Genosha. Emma, protective of mutants anyway, had made her deal with the devil. She would stand by Doom as a supporter, financially anyway, and that gave her some sort of leverage for the mutant community. The rest? They could grovel under his iron boot for all she cared. Though she supposed she was trying to be better. Seeing the woman ask question, her eyes narrowed as Emma approached the other directly. “And what would a human journalist want from us?” Direct and to the point.

the other half of the reputation that valkyrie had heard about the infamous emma frost had seemingly been true as well. but the night was still young and valkyrie wasn’t one to throw stones at glass houses. “i’m valkyrie, king of the asgardians actually, or what’s left of them - anyway,” she wore her title with pride, even if asgard was gone. the fact was, they were all on the same playing field now - no one better than the other - even despite titles. but, really, val never felt better than anyone anyway. “yeah… well, not many people survive a couple genocides of their own kind either, but here we are.” she chimed, tilting her head and smirking softly. “the only avenger i have vested interest in is thor and he’s nowhere around so no, i don’t think you should be expecting any of them.”

Emma swirled the drink around her glass a couple of times. Her expression was aloof as it usually was. She didn’t perhaps give the warmest of auras to people. She found to do so was to expose your own weakness. For somewhere for people to attack and take advantage. “King of Asgard. Fancy title.” She mused as she raised her glass to her lips. “Though, as you said, what is left of them. Doom really doesn’t care for much unless it is some mechanic monstrosity.” She muttered as she put her drink back down. “Well, if it is any help to you, mutants are not far off from the genocides.” Her tone was dry. “Thank goodness for that. The last thing is need is those boy scouts and their chipper attitude. I am sure they probably did something to incite this little take over in the first place.”

hah. of course - it wouldn’t be anything easy for him that evening - why the hell would it? frank’s just one asshole away from losing it and in truth - doom would be his prime target. still, she was being as polite as he suspected she could muster and her grand show of power was nothing he hadn’t seen before in people like her. humans and mutants and all. the in-between had their fair share of those that had no issue stepping above the rest to display their bravado. sighing, he took a step back and neatly cupped his hands together in front of himself as he listened to her speak. “congratulations - he could be human, mutant, raccoon, whatever and i would not really care. you know what he did? it wasn’t good, so i hope that you do actual justice with him before i report to doom that i lost him. next he’ll send the bots, so that’s your warning.” frank wasn’t too vested in trying to fight her over this - she was clearly dead set on doing whatever the hell she wanted. “hope you can handle them, or he can. pretty sure you don’t have a problem.”

Emma’s cobalt eyes stayed locked with his, even though the other towered over her. This wasn’t the first time she had stood up against a man who was twice her size. Though they usually cowered a lot quicker first. She could respect that he didn’t to say the least. “Most mutants do not really have the same start in life like the rest of you. Most of the homo sapiens don’t let us. I speak from experience.” Emma told him, her tone was firm if not piercing. Emma had hated the world for it had it had done to her and, with the Hellfire Club, that hate was twisted into hurting it back to the extreme. She was trying to learn from her sins and she understood more than anyone that a mutant just needed the opportunity to change their ways, just as she had needed. “And trust him with a legal system that mostly caters against mutants?” She asked dryly, her eyebrow raising. At his warning, Emma stepped much closer, her eyes never leaving his. “I have been dealing with men mad with power since I was born. Who is he going to believe? The man running around with his goth outfit and his guns? Or the woman who makes sure his little paradise is a financial success?” She asked. She was a pragmatic woman at heart, though cold. As he mentioned hoping she could handle them, Emma walked over to the mutant, implanting the command to head to the mutant neighbourhood. “Darling, please. I can turn someone’s head into a strawberry milkshake if I am annoyed enough. I consider it a mercy if it isn’t me they deal with.”

she pursed her lips, clearly finding the woman before her attractive but being wise enough to know about her reputation. from what she’d heard emma frost was as cunning as she was beautiful and twice as dangerous. normally a personality that wouldn’t repel valkyrie but she knew she’d need to at least keep up with some sort of standards here. still, a little flirting and ‘getting to know’ wouldn’t hurt anyone, right? “oh, i’ve heard of you - a queen in your own right, yeah?” she asked, tilting her head and offering a cheeky smile. “it’s nice to meet another somebody on the same level as me - or was as me, i suppose.”

Emma glanced over at the other, her eyebrow quirking at her words. “Something like that.” It was a title that seemed to have followed her since the Hellfire Club and while she necessarily didn’t care for codenames (did you see her in a mask?), it did seem to be a title that stuck to her and one that many people found fitting. Of course, who was Emma to deny her queen like behaviour? “I don’t know about you, other than you are an Asgardian.” She answered, her expression stoic as the other smiled. “Darling, not many people survive being on my level.” Her humour dry as she reached for her drink. “Should I expect any Avengers to come running over? I don’t particularly care for them.”

he’d seen her before, sure. she was kinda hard to miss given her choice of clothing and her always perfect appearance. but he never had much of a chance to actually interact with her either. not that he’d have a reason to. after all, he mostly kept to himself, hunted his bounties, and spent time with people that were close to him. still, emma was in his path towards his current bounty and the only way he could get to him was through her. “hey, not to be rude or anything but i gotta get by you to get to that guy right over there - so if you don’t mind, i’d like to ask you to step a little to the side, please?” he was mostly business and if he was accurate about himself, he’d say he was… persistently so. after all, personality didn’t get a job done.

Emma never really considered herself heroic. Sure, she wore what some would call a costume but the X-Men were more about uniforms than costumes. She of course had to have her own however because she found yellow and black to be gauche. She saw herself more of a figurehead for mutant-kind and she would carry the burden and the hate and the looks of disgust if it meant mutants were safe and happy. Still, Emma never let go of her haughty attitude, even when confronted with the much larger vigilante. “I beg to differ.” She retorted. As the target went to run, she simply spoke. “Stop.” As if almost instantly, the person in question came to a halt, freezing completely. “This individual is a mutant and as such, they will be dealt with people who understand their situation.” She stated simply, her eyes never leaving his. “So I would like to ask you to step down please.” Emma said, repeating his earlier sentiment.

💙 — “And who should I find behind the curtain?” The battles were raging. Kurt’s performers were packing up after a long night before. In the stands were people filing in and out, the gentle commotion of people seeking thrill and distraction from their newfound reality. Catching Emma as one of the sponsors of the fights— here to witness one of her champions, he imagined— did not come as a surprise. “So. How are you?”

Emma stayed silent at his question. After all, what was there to say to that? “I’m fine.” She answered. It was blunt and vague, not really revealing much but when did Emma do that. “Just enjoying the festivities and all that nonsense.” She muttered before looking over at Kurt. Her eyes looked him up and down for a moment, inspecting him almost. “How are you?” She asked, genuinely interested in his well being.

However Remy personally felt about the KIlliseum, a lot of things went down there too–in the stands, that is. Not only was it a great place to pick a pocket or two, it was also a great place to get dirt on people and information which could come in handy later on. Seeing Emma there was no surprise, and he certainly was not going to pass up a chance to pester her. “I’m surprised you call it a pleasure, femme,” he drawled as he sat down, “Didn’t t'ink you’d ever find anyt'ing ‘bout me t’ be pleasurable.” Glancing out at the arena, he made a face. “What, wouldn’t you rather have some company t’ watch dis? Gotta t'ink dat makes it more bearable, non?”

Emma raised the vape pen to her lips and inhaled, turning to meet the eyes of the Cajun card dealer. “I take whatever little pleasures I can get these days.” Emma told him, exhaling the smoke. “Yes, well, when you are filthy rich, it tends to make you guarded around those who intend to take things from you.” She pointed out as she saw his eyes wander to the arena. As he commented about the fight below, Emma seemed passive about the whole thing. “Most of my life, I have witnessed violence like this. The Hellfire Club was no different. The only difference here is there is an audience. You can’t blink when faced with something that isn’t to your taste.” Emma’s tone was nonchalant as her eyes followed his back to the battle.
