A small flash of guilt came, but Cayde quickly pushed it away. “Yeah, yeah, I know – things have been hectic around here.” As they tended to be, often, but once the information about the city’s newest threat started to feed in, the Vanguard had been busy discussing what to do; What to send Saladin, how many Guardians did this threat need, that sort of thing.
Cayde didn’t let it dwell, though. He shifted, sitting back in his spot as his Ghost sent the transmission for him. “So, you got something good for me, Shiro?” He asked, prompting him to tell him what he’d wanted to say earlier.
“Yeah, tell me about it.” Shiro replied through his Ghost. “I’ve never had to deal with so many Guardians in my life.” As a hunter, he was more of a lone wolf, but ever since the SIVA threat reared its ugly head and the Iron Temple opened up to the Guardians, he’d been a pretty popular guy. He didn’t hate it, but it kept him busy most of the time.
But the temple had died down for the night, only a few Guardians scattered around the site here and there. Shiro sat at the edge of one of the rocky cliffs, feet dangling over the edge as his Ghost floated above him. “Nah, I don’t have anything good for you, Cayde. Just wanted to hook up later. If you have time.” A pause, then a small, quiet laugh. “It’s been too long.”
