ABO DunkMaekar
Omega!Widowed!Maekar who is forced to attend Ashford with his beloved Alpha brother. Baelor has always been a very good older brother to Maekar, Baelor has always been an advocate for Maekar being able to do things. I think in this omegaverse Maekar has fought in wars, much in the same way there has always been women dragon riders, but omegas are not expected to get a formal position of political power. He loved Dyanna and bore her children but she passed away and he’s sad, but he won’t remarry (nor does King Daeron ever really intend to because Maekar is just not the sort that is worth the fuss of marrying, so few benefits due to his prickly personality). Still, that doesn’t mean he’s not lonely. He has his walls up because he has been judged his entire life for not being a delicate omega. That does mean it’s hard for him to let others in. It would have to take someone brave enough to try. Or someone stupid.
Okay as an addition: because I forgot about this plot point: after becoming friends with Lyonel, he asks Lyonel to vouch for him as a Knight to Plummer. I genuinely thing he could have done this in canon btw but I guess Duncan was feeling too noble and wanted someone to honestly vouch for him. But here he just asks and Lyonel says yes.
That’s why he hadn’t met Maekar and Baelor before the Tourney proper. It was love at first sight on the stands.

Lyonel and Maekar Omegaverse part one (?) romance (?) Post Ashford, Baelor lives, Omega Maekar is wed to perpetual bachelor Alpha Lyonel Baratheon — seen as punishment by Maekar, a betrayal by his father King Daeron II. K!Daeron is horrified that this mess happened and rumours of Baratheon distaste towards House Targaryen. He sees the need to lock down another great house with an heir. Daeron has been kind — he allowed Maekar to wed Dyanna, a match of little strategic value. One child — it’s all he needs, he tells Maekar. Something to bind the two houses together. Maekar is ultimately loyal to the house and his king, so he agrees.
Neither want it. But there’s other Baratheons so Lyonel’s family is encouraging. It comes with good money so he accepts. One child with a Targaryen, whatever. He can do that.
Maekar is sent to live with Lyonel. He can’t drag his children to Storm’s End to see him wed this fool, so he sends his daughters to Stardall with House Dayne, Aerion is in Lys. Daeron will manage Summerhall. Egg is on the road with Dunk. So he’s at Storm’s End alone.
Baelor missed the wedding. King Daeron is aware that there would spectacle if he involved Baelor and Baelor is Maekar’s only real advocate, and sends Baelor and his family away to the North on a friendly mission north. He only finds out that Maekar and Lyonel were wed when he arrives in the North — a whole month later after the wedding occurred. He would be absolutely furious — how dare his father do this when Maekar’s already had six children and also served the family in battle.
(Young Daeron also would have (tried) to advocate for him, but Maekar can’t bear to have him involved when Maekar has already accepted his fate.)
So, the sorriest wedding occurs. It’s small, but it’s announced with great fanfare. Maekar is completely sullen, barely speaks to anyone including Lyonel. Maekar’s parents are there to bless the marriage and observe and be all diplomatic.
Maekar prepares to have one very sorry, boring year at Storms End until his has this child, leaves it with the Baratheons, and goes back to Summerhall.
So, the bedding will occur. No ceremony of observance is needed — they can have a Maester confirm the bite and mating. So they’re alone in the bedroom.
“Get on with it,” Maekar spat out, going to the bed and lying back.
“Why, are we in a rush?” Lyonel teased. Maekar looked to the floor. Lyonel rolls his eyes — it’s not like he wanted this either. It’s just duty and sex, nothing more. It doesn’t mean anything.
So he leans over Maekar and kisses him. He intends to make this good and fun even if it’s not wanted, as he strips down naked, and then attempts to take Maekar’s small clothes off — but he’s rigid on the bed. Staring off at the canopy above the bed, not looking at Lyonel. Disassociating badly, a few tears in his eyes, but he is not reacting to Lyonel’s concern.
Lyonel knows he is likely Maekar’s first since his mate died. And he doesn’t want to be there. And Lyonel can’t do this — he can’t force someone to have sex with him. He’s always had sex willingly, enthusiastically. This is depressing even if he dislikes him. He’s the laughing storm — he doesn’t need to sink as low as to force someone to have sex with him when he can get it willingly otherwise.
So he masturbates into his hands leaving the bed smelling of himself.
It takes minutes for Maekar to come back to himself. “What are you doing? Get on with it?”
“I’ve finished now. Besides, you’re not in the mood.”
“I’m not made of glass.”
“I’d hope the anvil wasn’t. We don’t have to do this. There are… other ways.”
It doesn’t actually take much for Maekar to agree to Lyonel’s plan even if he half-heartedly states that he’s all right to go through with. This can be a sexless union and they’ll make excuses for the lack of a child. If they scent each other thoroughly and Lyonel bits Maekar lightly, it won’t be a strong bond. They can fool the maester eager to confirm the mating to the Lord of Storm End and the King and Queen.
and so that is what occurs. Lyonel is all bragging and smug, and no-one suspects that Lyonel would ever lie. So the wedding party departs.
To the gods, this will be depressing.
but oh no, is that the spring sickness coming around the corner? And a furious Baelor? (Idk if there will be a part 2 not sure if I can figure out if I want a LyonelMaekar baby or not but I think they’re deffo going to have sex lmao)
look I just like omega Maekar lol
omega dunk and omega maekar becoming besties as they’ve never had another omega knight to queen out with before
so, part 3 of ABO Maekar x Dunk. HedgeAnvil.
Aerion was of course at Ashford when he saw this big stupid Alpha request his beloved Muna’s favour. His Dam, his father. He found it rather funny as his father looks baffled. He didn’t think much of it, a Hedge Knight pushing his luck and he immediately failed in the lists. (As Daeron was sat with his father as an eligible omega to marry, Maekar was supervising Aerion and Daeron so neither wandered off. Aerion likes being a good boy when Maekar is around).
But then Dunk is invited back to Summerhall. And then have to sequester at Summerhall whilst the plague rages outside. Aerion is annoyed at all of this. See, Aerion is currently the only Alpha, so he really doesn’t like some random peasant Alpha taking his place in the household. The staff like him, the guards like him, and the family likes him. Maekar’s insistence that he was being taken to Summerhall for Egg’s sake becomes increasingly untrue.
Not long after they arrived at Summerhall, Aerion had made it very clear that he’s in charge, and watch his step. Aerion actually doesn’t mind not being recognised as Lord of Summerhall in place of Maekar, and he does respect his father and look to his approval.
And then Dunk disappears during Maekar’s heat. Aerion is fucking furious when he realised. It’s a bit opedius complex — he’s no longer the only Alpha in Maekar’s life. His beloved Muna is replacing him — with a stupid oaf.
And so he seethes, he plots. He knows that if he appeals to the new King Baelor, he’d take Maekar’s word over his. And Prince Maekar rules over the other lords in the reaches.
So, he decides to pick on the weakest member of the household — Daeron. There’s a certain rare combination of herbs that you can use to induce heat earlier (not a true heat and omegas can’t get pregnant during them as it’s off cycle). It’s not well-known but Aerion has done a lot of reading, and filed away this factoid. He decides to strike.
He makes the concoction, then decides to drug Daeron’s wine. He then sends Dunk to see to his ‘ill’ brother, and then fetches a Septon as well.
daemon x Maekar dark fic with Baekar p2
The following night, Daemon takes Maekar forcefully. Mind that Daemon has taken Maekar as a second mate. Law of exceptionism and all that.
Maekar knows that there’s little hope for resisting with force. He’s alone, his guard killed. Failure will almost certainly mean his children killed, especially Daeron.
so he grins and bears it. At some point they withdraw from Summerhall to a true castle like Starpike and House Peake (because fuck house Peake seriously) as it’s more easily defendable.
word is sent out that Daemon Balckfyre has claimed Prince Maekar as his mate after liberating him from a false marriage, and they are married in accordance of laws of the faith of the seven. Of course this horrifies everyone in Kings Landing. They know it’s not true, but they hear whispers that Maekar did willingly collude with Daemon and that this is a ploy to be the King’s consort. Sadly it does take two months to raise the armies needed to counter the rebellion, though small skirmishes along the Dornish border.
honestly, the battle goes much like the real Red Grass but I guess this is closer to Starpike in the Dornish Marches. Bolstered by Dornish forces and a very angry house Dayne, the Kings Landing forces attack the Blackfyre rebellion. It’s all seemingly in the Blackfyre’s favour until Bloodraven’s magic, the rebellion crumbles. Baelor burns with hatred towards Bloodraven for not allowing him to take Daemon’s head.
So Maekar is found within the castle, his two children in hand. Baelor realises that he is way too late, and Maekar is suspected to be pregnant. He’s quiet —- too quiet. Maekar is feeling many complicated, negative feelings — traumatised from seeing his mate slaughtered in front of him, angry that he could do nothing, and humiliated that he went through with the wedding and is now pregnant. They give Maekar moon tea, but it doesn’t take.
Baelor is very much in love with Maekar. If he could have married Maekar he would have. But there’s nothing he can really do here for Maekar except give him space.
Maekar is rushed back to King’s Landing. Daeron at age five is very quiet, but Valarr (4) plays with him and is very, very good with him, and Daeron opens up a little. As a baby, Aerion is far more chill.
Eventually, after a few months, the court politicking of Kings Landing tires Maekar. Upon invitation by House Dayne, he departs for Starfall to have his baby there. The Daynes fully accept him and believe he had no chance to save Dyanna, nor was this planned.
his third child is born. Like Daemon wanted, it’s a true Valyrian child that Maekar calls Aemon. Upon request by the Daynes, the child is recognised not as a Blackfyre but as a true Targaryen born of Dyanna. An insult to Daemon’s legacy that his child was taken away from him in death and given to Dyanna. The timings allow some belief that Dyanna could have sired Aemon, but Maekar knows it’s not true, that she hadn’t touched him yet after Aerion’s birth.
in the Dornish sun, Maekar begins to heal. Daeron grows tormented by nightmares, but that will pass, surely. Maekar trains, and grows stronger again.
A year or so passes. Maekar eventually returns to Kings Landing upon bad news that Jena has passed away not long after giving birth to Matarys. Maekar intends to not stay too long, just enough to offer his condolences and reintroduce Daeron and Aerion to court, a couple of months, but Baelor actually values his companionship and advice. Maekar feels himself being somewhat useful and realised he actually enjoys it. He never leaves.
it’s a year or more before marriage is suggested, by Bloodraven. It would put to bed any notion of Maekar being involved in the Blackfyre plot, send it would strengthen the house. They agree — Maekar would never be in danger of being courted by other alphas as well.
It doesn’t take long until Daella is conceived. And maybe they’ll have two more after that. Being with Baelor is healing after a turmoultuous mating period is healing, and Maekar’s body returns to normal heats.
Aemon is unequivocally accepted by the family, but he grows up knowing that his dam looks at him with pained eyes sometimes. Aemon is smart — he knows the truth after sharp ears listen in on secrets. When talk of becoming a Maester is brought up, Aemon agrees with no fuss — it may give his father some peace. Maekar is upset at Aemon being sent away, but it does allow him to miss Aemon in a way he couldn’t before — an uncomfortable truth that Maekar will never say aloud, even if he loves Aemon.

Imo the way to include heats into omegaverse is that for male omegas, that’s the only time they can get pregnant. Female omegas have monthly cycles and heats, males just have heats. Which means there is a smaller window of opportunity to get them pregnant. In turn, Female Alphas can only impregnate during their ruts. This means the two second genders are seen as fairly ‘useless’ compared to f omegas and m alphas
If we go with M/F omegaverse where the omega is the male character then he better birth those kids, I am here for gender fuckery of canon. Yes Dyanna sired Maekar’s kids
