So relatable :)
Still think your daily Diet Coke is just fine? Think again.
Day 30 Day 30 Day 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Breakfast - scrambled eggs with s&p
Lunch - mixed greens with tomatoes and lemon juice and a handful of red seedless grapes
Dinner - stir fry from Genghi's Grill
Snacks - 1 apple
Yes today is technically the end of my Whole30 :). I wasn't able to weigh in at my box today, so I will be heading over tomorrow to get my "official" results. I've got to stay Whole30 for breakfast and lunch tomorrow before my weigh in.
I took an after photo of myself after my WOD today but I'm still trying to decide if I want to post. As I said before, I don't feel like I really lost a lot of weight - it has been more about energy for me. So once I put those photos side by side I'll be able to really see if any changes are physical.
Here's hoping!
Holly Molly Did i just did that I’ve just made some Chocolateeee!! and they’re paleo-friendly which means dairy-free, gluten free & sugar-free! • 1 1/2 cup of raw cocoa powder • 8 tbsp of extra virgin coconut oil • 1 tbsp of warm water • 2 tbsp of coconut cream • Stevia or honey to taste ( i put about 3 tbsp of stevia ) Freeze to have chocolate bars or use immediately as melted chocolate by rknguyen http://instagr.am/p/R9amicRv_T/
CHOCOLATE.
Day 29
Breakfast - Banana
Lunch - Spicy Chicken and Shrimp from Pei Wei
Dinner - Balsamic Mustard Chicken and steamed broccoli
Snack - 1 apple and Banana Ice Cream
I'm starting to really not like chicken HAHA. I tried my best not to eat so much of it during my Whole30, but it's just the easiest thing to make when I don't feel like cooking. I suppose I would like it much better if I INCORPORATED it into my meals (like Chicken Salad, Chicken stir fry, etc.) rather than having it as a standalone entree. I really want to buy a whole chicken and roast it so that I can do those things. Maybe soon :)
So tomorrow is it guys, Day 30. My Whole30 will end when I get weighed/measured at my box - which I'm HOPING will be tomorrow evening after my WOD. They aren't technically doing weigh ins until the afternoon of Day 31, which happens to be my best friend's birthday so we are naturally going for a birthday dinner. I really don't want to get weighed in after eating sushi and wine - although I really don't know how much of a difference it will make. I just want to get the most accurate results as possible. So let's see if I can convince one of them to take my measurements tomorrow! I'm so excited/scared/nervous.
Espresso Brownies with Pumpkin Cream Cheese Frosting (Grain,Sugar, Egg & Starch Free)
Day 28
Breakfast - scrambled eggs with s&p
Lunch
Dinner - beef tenderloin (I paid more attention to the type of cut haha) with garlic roasted asparagus and roasted green onions
Is it really Day 28 already?! Again, another Sunday with weird eating. I probably ate more fruit than I should've. I had two apples (they were pretty small) in one sitting before dinner and then some Banana Ice Cream after dinner. There was a pretty big gap between my breakfast (at 10 am) and my [early] dinner (at 5 pm) so I know why that snacking was involved.
I must say, as I come closer to the end of my Whole30 journey I feel like I want to binge eat more than anything on Day 31. Yes, I love the way clean eating makes me feel and I don't feel guilty about what I'm putting in my body. However, I read other blogs about people not even craving the "junk" anymore and I just can't figure out how they aren't! I'm dying to have some pizza or a pie of pie. Maybe it's because I've never really done a "diet" before - I'm more of the "if I want a cookie, I'm going to eat a cookie" kind of person. I just make sure that it's in moderation of course. So let's see how Day 31 plays out...
Day 27
Late Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs and 4 strips of bacon
Lunch/Dinner - 1 big piece of steak (I never know what type of cuts they are - sirloin, tenderloin, etc.) with a salad and EVOO/balsamic plus some delicious Butternut Squash Chips
Snack - 1 apple and previously posted "Banana Ice Cream"
SO. CLOSE. TO. THE. END.
About those Butternut Squash Chips - they were SUPER delicious. I actually tried them with three different spices. I did rosemary like the recipe called for, then I did some with cumin, and some with balsamic. The balsamic ones were my favorite - for some reason those were a little spicy. The trick to getting really "chip" like pieces is to really cut the squash slices thin. The recipe says she cut them 1/8 of an inch thick - I have no idea how thin that is HAHA; so just cut them stupid thin, almost as the same thickness (rather, THINness) you get if you were using a peeler.
Day 26
Breakfast - banana
Lunch - Taco Tote: beef fajita meet with lime, cilantro, s&p, and pico. Also cucumber slices with lime and salt
Dinner
Snack - 2 apples
I was actually not very hungry at dinner time. I know I probably should've eaten something, I just had such a large lunch that I still felt satisfied at dinner time. Plus it was just an exhausting day that I didn't even want to deal with making dinner and I'm pretty low on cash right now that getting something was not an option for me. I hope I can put in some effort in these meals for the next 4 days without having to buy more food.
Day 25
Breakfast - Prosciutto Egg Muffin
Lunch - leftover Shrimp and Cauliflower
Dinner - Veggie Stir Fry and sweet potato chip things
I can't believe it's Day 25 already! I still remember the first week where I wanted to quit and didn't have faith that I was able to see this through. But it's Day 25 and I'm still here! My junk food cravings haven't gone away - I still want some Peter Piper Pizza, ice cream, pasta, and a cupcake. I'm just afraid of how my body will feel/react once I do eat those things haha. I am going to try to stick to Paleo as much as possible, at least when it comes to the way I portion my meals.
Dinner today was one of those "I don't know what to make, and I'm too lazy to look up a recipe, so I'll just stir fry some veggies before they get bad, add some sun dried tomatoes, and bake some spiced sweet potato pieces in the oven until they crisp" kind of nights. I realize I didn't have any meat or chicken in my stir fry which would've been nice, but I didn't have any on hand. I thought I had some shrimp but turns out I ate it all! I'm getting to my last few days and my budget is pretty tight, so I'm going to have to make due with what I have until the end!

I'm sorry but how great/human/awesome/relatable/all other good things is this man right here?!
hi i wanna start this challenege. have you lost any weight?
I haven't weighed myself since Day 0 - that's one of the things they ask you not to do. Don't get on the scale at all. I do notice my clothes fit more loosely, I have more energy - I don't feel sluggish, and my skin looks and feels so much better! I don't feel like it's about weight loss, I feel like it's more of a restart button with what you put inside your body; for most people the weight loss is just an added bonus.
Day 24
Breakfast - Prosciutto egg muffin (from Day 23)
Snack - handful of grapes
Lunch - Chopped steak with green beans and squash
Snack - 1 apple
Dinner
Okay today I cheated - but not intentionally. I've been in the "getting sick" phase for the last 2 days and today my throat felt SO itchy and irritated. So I slept through dinner, and my dad made me some lemon/honey tea for my throat. Needless to say I got a headache after I drank it (probably because of the honey) but my throat did feel much better. I refuse to get sick because I have all my sick days strategically planned for December so I can't use one tomorrow for ACTUALLY being sick. Also, because I'm not too sure what I can eat on Whole30 while I'm sick? Because I'm pretty sure I won't want to eat generous amounts of protein and veggies.
Almost there...!
