Watermelon- probably the most popular fruit in summer. But there are many things you might not know about this yummy, Smooth hard rinded fruit coming from Africa! Let’s start to bomb you with some facts:
• they are 92 % water and about 6 % sugar, which makes the melon sweet
• watermelons have a green rind with a red-pink flish on the inside (who would’ve guessed:)
• they have little brown seeds, but there are also seedless ones
• the green rind can be used as a vegetable. So don’t put it in the trash after eating the pink flish!
• many people love to eat watermelon in summer, because it’s tasty and refreshing, because of the high water contain
• watermelons are great sources of vitamin: A, C, B6 and B1
• they also contain: potassium, magnesium, carotenoid antioxidant and lycopene
• low in fat (table)
• in a 100 g serving, a watermelon supplies 30 calories and low amounts of essential nutrients (table)
