I still think what happened to Sabrina is unfair, even if there’s no recourse at this point.

A very short time period for D score inquiries makes sense; coaches should know what D you were attempting, what could potentially get downgraded, and if any skills seemed close enough to completion that it’s worth asking for a second look if you didn’t get them credited.

But in contrast, a) judges very rarely get OOBs wrong, so no one is looking out for it and b) even if you were looking, you can’t be in all 4 corners at once!

with the new practice of not having line judges on the floor, is there any kind of signal in real time when a gymnast goes OOB? or do the coaches not even know where the neutral deduction came from?

Good question. I think they might actually not know. Even if there is some kind of signal, what is it? The coach will be watching the gymnast, and I doubt whatever signal they might have is as clear as a red flag going up.
