Doctor Who has the privilege of being the only show in SuperWhoLock that I stopped consistently watching because I moved on to other things not because the show got bad and then had an unsatisfying ending.

Here’s the thing. I don’t even care that destiel didn’t become canon. That was never a expectation of mine. Was the love confession nice. Yes. Do I wish they had brought Cas back for the finale. God yes. But not because of destiel.

This show is about family, found or otherwise. It’s about love. It’s about taking care of your own. This show spent 15 seasons teaching us that.

Bobby, Cas, Jack, Kevin, Charlie. Jesus christ, JESS in season 1. Countless others have come and gone but they were all part of the family.

This finale absolutely spits on that idea and says “No it’s about the brothers and it always will be. See that house over there Dean. Yeah that’s where your abusive dad lives now in heaven. Also your best friend of 12 years and his nephew who you viewed as your son? They’re around here somewhere but fuck them. You wanna go off in your car and meet up with your brother right?”

I adore found family. I adore it. That’s why it’s so heartbreaking to see that go away.
