sypnosis: eula would always thought that her soulmate would hate her just like the people in mondstadt, only for you to prove her wrong.
includes: spoilers to eula's story quest, traveler!reader, prejudice
if there's anything that isn't new to eula, it's prejudice.
thankfully for her, things have been not as worse as it was back then ever since she joined the knights of favonius. though, it doesn't mean that the hatred most common folk of the city hasn't dispersed.
she couldn't blame them (although she's flabbergasted with the audacity these people have) since they have every right to hate her bloodlineβΒ but judging a person for something that doesn't define them? how absurd.
the day when everyone in mondstadt will actually like her is only but a fantasy.
but what can the difference between a fantasy and reality make when it comes to soulmates?
would it be too much of a fantasy to hope for her destined lover to love her and accept her for who she is despite her family background?
would it be a reality to accept that there's high possibility that her destined lover would despise her as much as others in her homeland?
eula tried not to think too much of it.
but amber, may the archons bless her, have always been an enthusiastic girl, and there's never a day when she talks about the destined system enthusiastically whenever the two would walk around the city.
it's hard to not think about it.
however, something happened.
eula took note of how the people who hate her doesn't give her a glare anymore, focusing on something else as though they didn't notice that the person they hate is right there.
she later found out that the one thing they're focusing on is a traveler.
"did you hear about that one traveler who made stormterror fly away?"
"oh yeah, i was up by the cathedral and saw them gliding to it!"
she finds herself furrowing her eyebrows from the amount of conversations she's hearing from people passing by, all of them were about the same topic over and over.
but alas, she shrugs off the ongoing gossip and continues on her day like always.
a few months have passed and it was all but a blur.
currently, eula is by the wilderness on patrol, searching for any pests and devious opponents that all stands as a threat to the city of freedom. nothing out of the ordinary thankfullyβ
until she encountered a traveler interfering her patrol and took down a few fatui soldiers.
of course, after taking down a fatui soldier trying to shook the traveler behind their back, she immediately lectured them, ignoring the confused look on their face alongside their strange "fairy" companion.
it wasn't until she found out that her timer went to 0 when she realized that she just met her soulmate.
after infiltrating the lawrence clan and the fatui's plans on mondstadt, it took enough courage for eula to talk to you face-to-face about it. she would be lying if she claims that she isn't nervous on what you think about her, given that her family background is one thing that isn't unheard of around the nation.
"i was... honestly confused with you," you confessed, your eyes are filled with excitement. "but after all of that, i think i understand you now."
it felt like her heart bursted from those words alone.
from then on, whether it'd be in the city or by the woods, you and eula often started seeing each other, talking about whatever comes in your minds.
while you talk to eula about your adventures around liyue, she talks to you about what happened in mondstadt while you were away, telling you the silliest gossips she heard whilst going on her day.
eula was definitely surprised from how... nice you are, she could definitely see why mondstadt likes you so much. sometimes, if you're lucky enough, you might be able to spot her watching you with an amused smile plastered on her face whenever someone praises you.
whenever you and paimon visit mondstadt absolutely famished and exhausted, she will immediately try to make some delicious cuisines for you and paimon to feast on, knowing how much the both of you love food.
as for the public, you and eula don't bother announcing them that you two are soulmates (exclude your friends, who all gladly congratulated both of you) so no one knew why you two are starting to get along with one anotherβ i mean, imagine the city's most liked person and the city's most hated person always by each other's side?
when people started noticing how you and eula are often seen with each other, eula quickly took note of how some are starting to be nice to her, thinking that if you trust her, then they can trust her tooβ to which she's grateful for.
however there were also people who disapprove your "friendship" with eula. they'd tell you quietly about eula's family background and how you should stop hanging out with "a person like her"
as response, you defended your lover to the point where the person feels ashamed and left in embarrassment.
oftentimes, eula finds herself looking up to the sky and thank celestia for giving such a wonderful soulmate to her, giving her all the more reasons to go out and live her life.
the same thing applies for you as well, thanking the archons for having eula as your soulmate, who always puts you on your feet whenever you need it.
it doesn't exactly phase eula that people love you so much while they're the opposite to her. the only thing that does phase her is the fact that they're asking too much of you to the point where she's astonished with their audacity.
"hmph, you should really stop accepting all of their requests," she scolded you one time after waiting a long time for you to come to good hunter. "the more you can't refuse, the more time you'll waste in finding your twin."
