Hear me out: Whumper kidnaps Whumpee and Caretaker. They both expect Whumpee to be hurt/tortured but the Whumper forces Whumpee to hurt/torture Caretaker instead.

Consider: Caretaker trying to comfort and encourage Whumpee to do whatever the Whumper is making them do so they aren't punished and the Whumpee trying to comfort the Caretaker.
