"Hey you're that new survivor right? I'm Quentin, sorry you had to end up in this place with the rest of us.. but it's nice to meet you" = ask-the-sleepless-survivor

yui had hovered on the very outskirts of camp for about an hourâ just arriving left her feeling ⌠out of place. among other things, the strangeness of the circumstances only served to make the alienation worse. how the hell would she manage to find the words to ask questions to anyone?
grimacing at the thought of the less than pleasant encounters that awaited her, she nearly slid down the tree and closed her eyesâ but before she could even manage to sink further into the pit of loneliness, a figure approached and stopped right in front of her. gazing up at the party responsible for the quiet, almost exhausted sounding vocalsâ kimura fluttered her lashes some to get a better view.
he was cute, fitâ some type of athlete before, maybe? but he looked positively exhaustedâŚ
âohâ yeah, i am.â the racer stuck out her hand and did her best to offer a gentle yet subtly grateful smile. âyui kimuraâ itâs really nice to meet you too quentin. strong name.â
Quentin gave a tired smile to the racer as he then gestured to the space next to her, tilting his head slightly âMay I sit by you? You look like you could use some companyâ He asked softly as he then continued with: âYou have a nice name! and thank you, same to you!â He replied, taking her hand and giving it a small, firm handshake. âHow are you holding up anyway?âÂ
polite, and very intuitive. the edges of yuiâs lips tugged up to form a sweet simper, nodding to him to confirm sheâd very much welcome the seat beside her being taken. by the time heâd found his place and returned the compliment, only to lead into a question which the biker dreaded to some degree, kimura had finally slid down the trunk and brought her knees closer to her chest.
how am i holding up?
âas good as can be expected but i canât sleep. not even a little bit. . . been stalked and hurt by a stranger before, being surrounded by them now i guess-- i just donât feel safe. but i suppose thatâs the point of this whole place, to not feel secure. . . just wish i wasnât as paranoid about the other survivors as i am with the killers.â pausing, she turned and tilted her head until her cheek was caressed by her forearm. âeven if i donât have trust to hand out to everyone, i do everything i can to make sure people get out. . . even at the expense of my own life. iâve never been too good at being selfish. itâs stupid.â
so stupid.
