There are ten trillion pictures of flowering trees to the point where they sometimes seem trite and overdone. But then you see a tree in full flower and go holy shit this rules and I've gotta show this to everyone so they can experience the same magic and wonder and there are ten trillion and one pictures of flowering trees
Mu Xin, from a poem titled "After The Sleigh Incident," featured in A century of modern Chinese poetry : an anthology

Dear me
“When it’s over, leave. Don’t continue watering a dead flower.”

uhh my two cents are fucking each other
everyone loves a bridal style or whatever cause it’s dramatic and romantic but realistically, with keith and lance being basically the same height and build, they physically wouldn’t be able to do that for any significant distance. and oh my god i love it cause it’s so fucked because it means that they would have to rescue each other in much less gentle ways, like a fireman’s carry or the one that’s kinda like a piggyback or just dragging the other by the shoulders. and they’re all so bad if the other person is injured. and it gives so much desperation potential and the “i’m sorry”s and the struggle and the powerlessness fawkkkk am i crazy
like the visionnn of the both of them injured, needing to escape. keith is less hurt and helps lance up with an arm around his shoulders, but they don’t make it far. they stumble as lance keeps slipping in and out of consciousness. keith can’t keep up and come on lance just a little further please help me out hey please lance hey wake up fuck you can’t do this to me please don’t do this to me.
someone is getting closer. keith has no choice but to lower lance to the floor, shaking from exhaustion and ignoring the burn from own injuries. he looks at lance, peaceful face contrasting with all the horrendous injuries that keith is about to make so much worse because they have to go right now.
keith whispers an apology. he is so sorry he doesn’t want to do this. but he takes a deep breath to fight through his own pain before trying to pick lance and put him across his shoulders. and he tries and the team has trained this so many times and they’ve done this before. he goes to stand upright. he fails. he struggles against the horrible pain on his leg and arm and side and everywhere to let lance down as slowly as he can muster with his swimming vision and ringing in his ears. keith takes in shallow breaths and desperately pulls lance by the shoulders. the sounds of the nearing footsteps aren’t getting louder to his muffled hearing, but he doesn’t have to hear to know their clock is still ticking. then the lighting shifts on the corner of his eyes. with one last pull he settles lance by the wall and shields him with his body. because he tried and he tried and he failed and failed. this is his last try. his delirious mind comforts him by assuring that if they shoot at least it will hit him first instead of lance. and if they get close then he can give them his worst.
so when someone grabs his shoulder and pulls him away he struggles and tries and tries and tries and he fails, one last time. he’s finally contained and defeated, as the rest of their team look, horrified, at the scene in front of them.
I think I’ll never be okay. And i have to be okay with that.
