Milford Sound. In the "divorce boat" AKA kayak, Moni steered and I dictated the tempo and ate the waves in my face.
Hanging around Mount Cook, the highest peak in New Zealand.
Camping in New Zealand. Location: Milford Sound
Phil making gnocchi while camping. Because food tastes best in the middle of nowhere.
Suddenly: sheep!
Our first two days in New Zealand. Our route so far on Google Maps.
Day 1: Akaroa, which is a peninsula with amazing hills - it used to be a volcano, now it's a wannabe French community. The French landed here before the English did, but when they went back to get settlers and equipment, the Brits stole the island from them.
Day 2: Mount Cook, with 3700 the highest peak here. We picked up some fresh farmed salmon on the way.
ps // So far I have only used one lens and aperture for New Zealand. Lensbaby all the way!
Leaving Australia at midnight - Melbourne to Christchurch. Next: two weeks of romping around New Zealand in a camper van.
Our last day in Melbourne.
Melbourne, day 2. The food here is excellent.
Melbourne! 2 days on the beach (done), 3 days in the city (in progress).
Leaving Sydney.
The building (almost) next door.
When they say "extremely hot", they mean extremely hot...
Just cooked the spiciest dish I have ever made. I foolishly used 5 of the chilis for two people. For us it was edible, but just barely.
Phil's last day at work. I feel so pretty!
For Günther.
And while marbling accounts for a mere 10% of tenderness, it still makes it look so pretty...
