Day 1 // what's that? A picture taken out an airplane window? I've never seen the likes of it I didn't sleep a wink last night and boy was I moody af this morning. But sitting on the plane today (in a row all to myself, magically) I felt excited. A happy change from how nervous I had been the night before in the car with Mary O as she drove me to the bus. There was a lot of sitting around today. Sitting waiting for buses. Sitting on buses. After landing in Madrid at 10am, I was glad when we finally made it to Astorga shortly after 6pm and to be able to walk around and see the oh so beautiful buildings this town has to offer. Oh my. Being out in the sun, feeling the 30 degree heat (hahaha). Honestly, it was lovely. We relaxed a little in the alburgue before heading out for dinner. (I had spaghetti bolognese. What more could I want?) It is now approx 10:45pm and I'm lying on the top bunk of one of five bunk beds in this room. My legs are already generating too much heat within this sleeping bag. Lol. Early start tomorrow for our first day of walking. Someone in this room is using a device that is making a very annoying beep sound. And so it begins. Update: At 11pm, church bells rung. Loudly. P.S.
