Teddy read the title then shook his head, âPeople also like hot wax poured on them but I ainât part aâ thaâ crowd.â He grinned then pushed the book with one finger further away. âBesides, I was forced taâ a readinâ a; thaâ crap anâ wanted ta cut my wrists.â He snorted then turned to the section and started to walk a bit before making a sharp left and raised a callous finger to run over a few spines before grinning and pulling out three hard back books in a neat row. Doing the proper thing he moved the books closet to it then arranged the bookend to close the gap and keep the other books from falling then turned with a smile with his finds. âIâll take these three, ya do gifâ wrappinâ? If not itâs fine, Iâll pick up somethinâ from thaâ Bargin Bin store.â
HI reply made Bently raise a brow and the faintest hint of a smile on his lips but left as quickly as it had grown there. With fluid and calculated steps he slowly, like he was floating on air, followed the shopper with the slightest of intrigue. With a nod he replied and took the books. âYes. Are they for a gift then?â He begun to meticulously wrap each book regularly glancing up to look at the male in his sisters store. Maybe it was not as bad working here as he first thought.
whyfollowaghostâ:
âNothing.â There was not order that he needed to place he simply wanted to come closer to Bryson. It was foolish, he knew that already and it was clearly confirmed with the lack of any and all eye contact.
Mason was not at all as bad as he made himself out to be. Keeping people at arms length kept him safe, not only him but he kept his siblings safe. That was all he wanted now after what he had put them through in the last few hundred years.Â
âI wantedâŠ.â He started sheepishly but took a breath to build his confidence up. At least on the outside he could look like he was in control of himself even if within he was a complete mess. âI wanted to apologise.â A shake of his head as be kept speaking in a low volume so others would not hear him, only Bryson. âI shouldnât have treated you as I did, for that I am sorry.â His Norse cross English accent standing out from others in the shop.
âWell, then if youâre not ordering anything, maybe you shouldnât be on line,â Bryson responded gruffly, wanting nothing more than to finish this interaction. He felt sick again as the other stood before him.
He huffed as he heard the apology. âWhich part exactly are you sorry for? For brushing me off immediately after we were done? For using me as someone to warm your bed? For making me feel like I was worthwhile in order to get me into your bed? Oh, maybe itâs when you pretended to forget my name after all of that!â he scoffed as he gestured to the lack of a name tag.
He paused for a moment and finally looked up at the man before him, hurt clear in his eyes. âOr, is it for somehow figuring out which cafe I worked at, showing up, and thinking Iâd be dumb enough to fall for your apology and go home with you again?â
Bently should have figured it would be like this. He was used to people running from him as soon as he pushed them away but this was somehow different. There was something about Bryson that Bently didnât want to push away and the fact Bryson was so visibly hurt by the way he treated him, well he was not at all ready for how that would make him feel.
âFor all of it.â There was an unusual gentle tone to his usually decisive and forceful words but he was unsure if it was noticeable through his ancient and unique Norse accent. Bently knew the mistakes he had made, seeing he had acted that way so many times before but it was the first time that he thought of them as âmistakesâ.
âI wasnât apologising to get you into bed again. I just...â He hated the way he sounded, that fragility that he tried constantly to hide. Clearing his throat and trying to gain back a little confidence in his words. âI donât like how I acted and I could not get you out of my head. the way you looked when you left. I felt bad. All I want to do is say Iâm sorry.â He spoke with his usual determination to his words but he also spoke from his heart. Something not even his siblings heard much of in the last few dozen years.Â

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" (from Aandag)
âThe question show be, why did I tell you at all?â Thomas had a fondness for the young man but that didnât mean he had to share his secrets. Then again telling Aandag he was immortal was either going to go one of two way. The younger would not believe him, or he would. Simple as that.
@aandag
Aandagâs lips twitched into a slight pout at the response. He couldnât really argue with any of those points, and he wasnât at all angry. In fact, Aandag was relievedâ except it had him realizing heâd been holding his own secrets. âWhy did you?â he asked, stubborn as ever, and always curious. âYou know I am too⊠donât you?â
Thomas shrugged, just a little when he was asked why he confessed his immortality to the young man. He knew there was something all together different about Aandag but he tried not to read people too much. It took away far too much of the intrigue to know exactly what they were and where they came from. âI thought you might be... special.â He smirked, ever so slightly and it read crooked on his lips, while his bright eyes shone as he stared at Aandag. âHow long have you been on this Earth?â
Let me know if anyone wants to interact with Mason. She is my only muse without an active thread. THANKS <3

Bently would more than happy to ignore that he had or ever would have feelings for the rest of his lengthy life, whenever the end might be, but something kept a small and simple spark alive inside him. Hope. One day something good could come for him but for now he would keep himself shutdown even if he was screaming inside to beg Bryson not to leave.
He stayed exactly where he was, his eyes glued to Bryson before him even as he left. He could not only see but feel the pain he caused the other male and the hatred for himself grew within, yet he still did not stop Bryson from leaving.
It would have been a week if not longer before he lay eyes on Bryson again. Out in a dingy little coffee shop he chose often to hide from his siblings. He watched for a moment but this time could not stop himself.Â
Bently approached Bryson slowly and quietly unsure if Bryson had seen him sitting in the corner. âBrysonâŠâ He hated the way his tone and voice seems almost gentle, letting that part of himself show for just a moment.
Bryson had drowned himself in work to keep his mind off of the night he had with Bently, not that it was working very well. He had felt used and tossed aside like he was worth nothing, and he hated feeling like that. So, he just kept focusing on his job and fortunately, that took up most of his time, so there was limited times he could and would get into his own head.
He had just finished up with another patron when he had heard his name. He turned with a faint smile on his lips, keeping up his customer service charm. At least, until he saw who had uttered his name.
He wanted to make a quip about him spontaneously remembering his name, but this wasnât the time or place for it. It also wasnât the time or place for him, so he did everything he could to rush the transaction along.
âWhat would you like to order?â he inquired in a low tone, refusing to make eye contact with the other.
âNothing.â There was not order that he needed to place he simply wanted to come closer to Bryson. It was foolish, he knew that already and it was clearly confirmed with the lack of any and all eye contact.

William nodded slightly as he heard the otherâs statement, a faint smile rising to his lips as he nodded. âYeah. Itâs been a long day and I havenât been sleeping right lately. Iâm off the next couple of days, though, so hopefully I wonât look as dreadful,â he added the last part lightly. The younger man shook his head and placed a gentle hand Thomasâ arm to keep him from going into the kitchen. âDonât worry about it. I donât really want anything to drink right now. Iâm just ready to lay down for the night, maybe watch some TV or something, and just completely decompress.â
It was not often Thomas would let someone touch him. Not because he did not desire it but because he would not often let someone close enough. He would not linger in the presense of another in fear they would work out who and what he was and out of his siblings he was easily the most secretive. Well, Bently would be now days but usually it would be Thomas.
His top lip curled at the mention of television. Now this was a sure subject to show his actual ancient age. âSurely there is something better you could think of to do? I shall read?â It was a comment, sure, but he tried to to tone it into a kind of question for William to agree too. His book sitting in the little corner of the young males room. Not usually something more people would read but Thomas had only just found this book, another tale from Norse history. He tried to read anything he could to find away to break the ties he and his siblings had with the gods.
âRighhhhâ.â Teddy drawl  stretched the word out before stepping all the way in and closing the door, dry ass humor aside it was an invite and heâd take it. âIâll be two shakes, if ya could be ever so kind as to direct me taâ romance please⊠Romance novels thaâ is.â He continued to grin shamelessly at the man because even if he was a grump he was adorable. Teddy always had a thing for challenging people, he should break that habit.
He was casual under the otherâs scrutiny and kept his eyes on the other, smelling of power⊠which was odd short of a fae or something but this one just smelled of power, clean air and the frustration he wore on his face in the wish to leave. Teddy was more than a bit interested but before delving into that land mind heâd get a birthday gift or gifts and go from there.
At least he was something to look at. Usually the only people that came into this bookshop were young little wanna be hipsters, whom with Bently could not stand. He gestured to the books the other male had requested. Bently would not have picked the male as someone that would waste his time of romance novels but then again, of late, he was not the best judge of character.
He slowly made his way over to the dribble he thought romance books were and held out one of the latest all the young people seemed to be buying. Some rubbish to do with forbidden love and a tortured soul that an innocent young girl would win over. âPeople like this shit.â He shrugged waiting for the male to take the book.

Bryson was finishing pulling his shirt on as he heard the otherâs question, his movements slowing for a moment as the words hit him and a pang of pain shot out in his gut. He looked down and finished pulling his shirt on and buttoning his pants. âIt doesnât matter, clearly,â he muttered as he grabbed his socks and shoes.
He was too sober for this, to be treated like he was just a fuck. He would have been fine if he wasnât feeling like he had done something wrong by being there. He didnât even take the time to put on his shoes and socks. He quickly checked his pockets to make sure he had his keys, wallet, and phone, and left without another word.
