Solution- When there is a liquid and a mystery element. Colloid- You cannot see through it and it slowly separates. Frequency- How high or low it is, how close the waves are. Conduction- When heat spreads evenly through out the material. Insulation- The opposite of conductivity and reflects heat. Radiation- The waves off heat given off without touching it. Energy transfer- When heat spreads evenly through out the material. Amplitude- How loud something is and how tall the waves are. Soluble- A mixture that is capable of dissolving. Mixture- A mix or blend of different elements. Sound- Uses matter to travel in waves and vibrations. Light- Travels in waves and is the fastest thing and does not need matter to travel. Waves- Made up of amplitude and frequency and travels through matter. Infrared- Waves that we cannot see and can see heat. Element- An atom. Atom- A microscopic object made of protons and neutrons. Molecule- A mix of atoms together held by bonds. Mass- How heavy it is. Volume- How much space something takes up. Matter- The building blocks of the universe. Energy- The movement from the atoms. Heat- The energy given off from atoms. Suspension- When something separates right away depending on the density. Friction- When atoms are moving against each other and gives off heat. Fluid- A liquid. Saturated solution- When a liquid cannot dissolve salt anymore. Hardness- A solid that is hard to break. Density- Dense is small volume, heavy weight. Atomic number- The number of the element and how many protons and neutrons. Proton- The positively charged objects in the center. Neutron- The negatively charged objects on the outside. Electron- The objects with no charge in the center. Compound- A mixture of two or more elements. Sub atomic particle- The particles that make up an atom. Thermal energy- When heat reacts with cold by giving off heat.
