Matter

Has your heart ever ached immensely for what cannot be yours?

Has your soul ever cried out for something you never knew you missed?

Have you ever gazed at the heavens and wondered why it is not enough?

Have your hands ever reached out for the touch of someone miles away?

Have you ever dreamed with tears in your eyes and pain in your heart?

Do you think of all the ways things could wrong, or even the ways it could go right?

Do you crave love in its purest form?

Can you accept that love as it is; a raw force rich in passion?

These questions buzz in my skull, haunting me. The answers are just out of reach.

The deepest parts of me know the truth, but the outer shell will not oblige.

And so my heart, filled with longing and desire, sits collecting dust in my weakened chest.

Until these matters are layed to rest.
