You make me wanna die.

Stefan laughed at her words, but he didn’t say anything. Things changed. Both of them learned from their past and neither one of them would repeat their mistakes. At least not when it came to “borrowing things”.
It was fine that Nina didn’t say anything in response to his question. He chose to ignore some remarks too and that was one thing he always enjoyed around her. She was the perfect company for silent evenings. Though it seemed like she wouldn’t keep quiet about the subject he wanted to avoid. Of course not. She always liked to push him.
“Thanks for sharing your humble opinion.” Stefan’s tone was slightly mocking, but he knew she could take it. “If you think I’m such a coward please enlighten me. What will I choose? What should I choose?” He was mostly teasing, but there was some curiosity behind it too. Nina was smart. Maybe her words would clear some of his doubts.
“Of course not.” It was hard not to grin now. Robyn was a lot of things and scary was on that list. Even Nina knew that. “But if she’s going to be pissed she might show her face around here and try to blow off some steam. I think she’s going to spare her baby brother.” He echoed her words and Robyn’s nickname for him. “One of her witches? Not so much.” But that was only a joke. He knew his older sister loved her.
"First it bugs you and now you’re asking for my ‘humble opinion’? That’s classy.” Nina’s tone was not so different from his own; There was some truth to it, but it was still part of their endless banter.
“You want to be human. Maybe you even feel like you n e e d to turn.” If not for himself then for the sake of the woman that he loved. A potential f a m i l y. “You probably believe that your plan is the only way to have everything you two could possibly want.” And it was not completely wrong. If the two lovebirds wanted to take their relationship to the next level it would take time, patience. It was always a risky thing.
“God knows I can’t tell you t h a t .” Not with the history that she had. “You already know how things ended for me. I loved Victor with everything that I had.” She still did. It was a feeling, an urge and a longing that would never die. “He was my whole world, but my need for someone else to experience such love was the very thing that made me lose it all. Look at me, Stefan. Victor is dead. Our baby is dead... and I am stuck here, forced to live one life after the other.” Just to learn her lesson over and over again; There was no happiness without the man that held her heart until the end of time.
The witch looked at the vampire - she really wished that she could tell him what to do, but there was no way that she could. “You never know what the future holds. All I know is that there would be a chance for Victor to be right here with me if I stopped wanting more.” Which did not mean that she would have given up on the thought of a baby if she had known.
Victor was the love of her life, but so was their daughter. There was not a day that allowed her to take a pause from grieving, but maybe she would have been even unhappier without that short chance of being a mother.
“If you want to be human you should not be scared... I would not want Victor to change for me again, but heaven knows I would change for him. In a heartbeat.”
-
There was a long pause that followed her words. It was a pause that she needed to clear her head and to focus on the present. It was so easy to get lost in her thoughts and memories - after all she had at almost six lifetimes of those.
“I can admit that it would not be p l e a s a n t - but don’t forget that I am much older than your beloved sister. I know spells that she can only dream of.”
