How to make a Special Agent Oso Cake topper

    Here in Canada, Special Agent Oso is a popular character on a kid’s tv show.  I get many requests for themed cakes involving this character.  So I decided to make a tutorial to show how to make this cute, friendly bear. 

  Here is what you need:

Gumpaste (yellow, red, black, white, brown and teal) Rolling pin medium Cel Stick zacto knife paint brush (thin) pallet knife small round cutter tooth picks black edible marker edible gum glue Teal gel # 10 round tip

  Step : 1 -

  On either side of the “head” pinch a small amount of gumpaste to create the ears.

  Roll out another piece of yellow gumpaste into a log, approximately 2-3 inches long.

           Cut it in half.  These will be the bear’s arms.

With a piece of white gumpaste roll a tiny ball.  Shape this ball into a cone shape.  One the pointed end cut a slit in the centre.

How To Make Cake Pops Step-By-Step

    Step 1: Cake Pop Supplies

To make cake pops, you will need:

- A box cake mix and ingredients to make the cake

- A can of frosting

- Candy melts

- Lollipop sticks

- A styrofoam block or cake pop stand

 Step 2: How To Make Cake Balls

    Step 3:

      1) Use your hands. Put chunks of your cake into a large mixing bowl and use your hands to crumble it into a pile of fine crumbs. If you use this method, I suggest cutting off the hard edges of your baked cake.

  2) Use a food processor. Put chunks of your cake into a food processor and pulse it into fine crumbs. Move the crumbs into a large mixing bowl.

  Step 4:

  Once you have created your “dough”, you can begin rolling your cake balls. I like to use a stainless steel coffee scoop to portion out my cake mixture so that all my cake balls are the same size, about 1.25″. Roll the mixture in the palm of your hand to create round cake balls.

Birthday cake pops recipe ingredients: cake crumbs buttercream lollipop sticks white melting chocolate wafers pink melting chocolate wafers brown melting chocolate wafers candy coated chocolate bits candles Procedure: The first step is to make the cake pops! Combine a tablespoon or two of buttercream with the cake crumbs, and form one disc. Roll this out to be about an 1” thick. Using a 1” round cookie cutter, cut out small “cakes”. Set onto parchment lined baking tray and insert cake pop stick coated with 1/4” white melted chocolate. Repeat as many times as necessary. To make the cake slices, repeat process but when the “cake” is cut out, cut a triangular piece out of the round one. Set into freezer for 10 minutes to “set” the sticks. When sticks are set, coat cake pops completely with white melted chocolate and allow to harden. To decorate, pipe a small amount of white chocolate around the bottom edge and place small chocolate bits to create a border on the bottom of the cake. Using the pink melting chocolate, cover the top of the cake and have some “dripping” down the sides of the cake. When that is set, cover the cake with the chocolate. Finish with adding “cherries” red chocolate candies, and a candle!

How to make a simple cat cake topper

      This adorable little cat is cute and really simple to make.  Only needing a few items.

      What you will need:

4 colours of fondant (one colour for the body, one for the paws, white for the eyes, and pink for the nose) Zacto Knife Black edible marker Gum glue Tooth pick

Round the smaller ball and press the front flat so that the face will have a flat surface.

        Step 4:

Roll a long log.  This will be for the cats tail.  Glue the tail behind the cat and curl the tail as you wish to give it some life.

Using a small piece of pink fondant, shape a little cat nose. I added a little point to the end of mine.

Using the gum glue, attach the nose and the paws to the cat. Once you have all the cat’s parts attached you can draw on the wiskers and eye balls with the black edible marker.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Green fondant or gum paste

Lily or narrow leaf cutter

Flower form or curved surface for the leaves to dry

Sugar glue

Small paint brush

Covered wires (I use 22 gauge, 6″ long wires)

Coffee Straws

Pirouettes

Step 1:  Roll out your green fondant and cut out at least six leaves.   I used this Lily Cutter from the Wilton Gum Paste flowers set:

    To draw and color on your cake, you will need the following supplies:

Round cake covered in fondant Edible markers with fine tip (Americolor brand) Pencil

These are the steps:

Step 1: Cover your cake in fondant and let it sit overnight at room temperature.

    Step 2:

       Step 3: Use a brown marker (very lightly!) to draw stems around your cake.

    Step 4: Then, go over those light lines a few times until you have thick brown stems.

      Step 5:

      Step 7: Use a green marker to draw and color some leaves along the stems.

    And you are done

How To Make Cake Pops!

You will need: 

♥ A cake mix (mine was vanilla!)  ♥ Cake frosting  ♥ Cake pop sticks (bought on Ebay!)  ♥ Florist’s foam (or something to be able to place the cake pops in to suspend them)  ♥ White/ milk / dark chocolate  ♥ Sprinkles and any other decorative items! ♥ Strong will power in order not to eat them while making them

Step 1: Bake your cake mix as instructed on the box!

  Step 7: Next, place the stick about half way into the cake pop.

Don’t worry if it doesn’t go according to plan straight away, 

Step 11: Pop your sticks in place and put in the fridge! I placed mine in some florists foam but you could use styrofoam or something similar!

What you need

1 batch Dark Chocolate Cake

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 cups confectioner's sugar

4 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon milk (or more, as necessary)

Making Cake Pops

What you need

Lollipop sticks (found at Michael's, JoAnn's, or other craft stores) 

12 ounces chocolate chips

12 ounces white chocolate bark 

Edible wax, optional

Colored sugars, candies, and other decorative sprinkles
