Clipped Wings Q&A Event!

Running March 18th-April 20th

I've been trying to think for a while something to celebrate 15 years of working on Clipped Wings and I just now got the idea to do a fun Q&A!

The test reader server will be the main hub of it but I may bring it up in a few others were I know I have some readers.

Rules are simple!

- Can ask questions any time between now and April 20th. I'll answer them as they go, though try to wrap up around my upcoming surgery time.

- Anyone can ask questions! You can ask them publicly here or DM me!

- Because the books are finished, I will likely answer spoiler-heavy questions, but I will spoil them and may only answer them in specific locked locations depending on *how* spoiler heavy they are.

- If you feel your question itself is a spoiler, either send it with a spoiler and visible warning for which book it's a spoiler for, or just dm it!

- You can ask me questions about the process, worldbuilding, characters, etc. OR you can ask the characters questions directly about themselves or anything! You can ask them how they feel about a plot point, or even just how their day is going! Just specify who you're asking the question to!

I think that's everything. I wanna try to draw something for each response too. So let's have some fun with this!

Happy New Year, folks! Here's the art I made of my New Years Twins for my holiday cards this year. :3 These two brothers have come a long way with their story this year, considering I finally finished their trilogy! I don't know for sure what's in store for them next, just as I don't know know for sure what this next year has waiting for me. But I'm going to strive to make it a great one to remember! Wishing the best for everyone this next year!

Last year I was too depressed to make enough art to fill an art summary. This year I pulled myself out of it, and not only did I finish writing Clipped Wings, my fantasy trilogy I've been writing for FIFTEEN YEARS, but also I did manage to get a LOT of art done! Enough to fill this thing over more than once. So hey, why not! Have a second summary of some of the runners up! :D

I also appreciate that this year I have a good mix of my art, gift art for friends, and commissions! I feel my art still has a long way to go to get to where I want it, but I do feel it is making its way there, slowly but surely!

It's been a long time since I made this old line up of everyone in the circus. I never even really finished it, but I honestly do want to redo/update it anyway...Seeing as I can draw everyone better by now. But what I DID do last month is do updated bust shots of everyone who is (at some point!) part of the circus!

I actually took a class and made a 3d character model for the first time this year! Still very proud of that, as well as this redraw of a very old illustration I did of the royal twins and dad.

It's the end of the year! So time for summaries!

I know I haven't shared a lot of art this year, because a lot of it ended up being for others/for private things. But I can share this! I actually did a lot more this year than I realized! Lot of character designing, actually...

Is there a preview of clipped wings I can read?

I am not actually sure if any of the sellers have a preview of it. I do know a long time ago I posted a draft of the prologue publicly. So if anyone would like me to post the finalized prologue to read here I wouldn’t be apposed to doing so.

It suddenly hit me like a train that I never posted these on Instagram because they’re kinda backstory spoilers for my dnd campaign’s character (that I’m sharing with them as my character talks about their family) BUT none of the other players really use tumblr so I had no reason to not post them here! Anyway, here is my current baby child bard and their family! (They have a pretty big family with a pretty messed up backstory but I can’t say more than that!)

Anyway, have a whole bunch of goth bird-people! Except for Wick. They’re the baby prep of the Corvid family!

Some spooks being spooked by some spooks! Because

TODAY IS HALLOWEEN!

So Micaro gave me this book and told me to write in it. He said I could do anything I wanted, so I decided to write down everything that’s happening to me to keep my head clear. After all, a lot has happened and I already can’t remember most of my life.

My name is Avian. Well, it is now… I don’t remember my old name. I don’t know who I was or where I was from. All I know about my past is that I had a smart brother that I had gotten in a fight with and that my family must have been very wealthy. But I’m part of Micaro’s Circus now, and I’m going to be going on display as an angel of death.

I have wings. Large black crow wings. I can’t remember how or why I got them. Ricaru was assigned by Micaro to be my mentor because he’s a kite flyer and knows the most about flight out of everyone else in the circus. Ricaru is going to teach me how to fly, and honestly, I’m a bit excited! Although I know I have a family somewhere that’s probably really worried about me, I can’t remember them at all, and there’s no way I can get back to them… I’m starting a new life now, and tomorrow I’ll start living it. And I’ll start…by learning if these wings can let me fly!
