Skylar had no time to react as she was lifted, pressing herself as close to him as she could manage. Once on her bed, her hold on him tightened and she more than happily continued to kiss him, quiet noises leaving her.
A soft noise of encouragement was given and she shifted slightly until she was settled on his lap. Her tongue grazed his lip lightly but she found herself pulling back to speak. "Here or... My room or... Where do you want me?"
She'd just been about to utter a quiet offering of his name in return when finally she felt his lips against hers again. After months of being apart and telling herself she probably meant nothing to him, it was clear right now that all of that had been a mistake. She did mean something to him. And he meant so much to her. More than any other man ever had. Skylar had never been a relationship type but she could see herself with him and that was saying a lot. Silently, gently, she pressed the kiss just a little further.
Bumping her nose just slightly against his own, Skylar allowed one of her hands to raise and cup the back of his neck gently. "Yeah?" It was nice to know that someone had thought of her. Had missed her. Her lips rested just a few centimeters from his now. "Well I'm back... And I'm not leaving for a long time..."
She was silent for a moment as she raised her gaze to meet his eyes. She had missed him. Quite a lot. "Of course I did... I love spending time with you... Did you miss me?" Her voice was quiet, just barely above a whisper.
He looks soft, idk.
The picture pulled a tiny laugh from her and she pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek at his comment. âWell maybe sometime we can play âoverworked barista who gets coffee for the cycling delivery boy.ââ she teased, again resting her head on his shoulder. A quiet happy sigh left her and she took a long sip of her beer. âIâm glad you could come tonight.â
"You've got a fever, Charles, you're not going anywhere. Go. Bed. I'll make you some soup and be in shortly. Please don't argue with me. Go on now. Bed." ;Alex of course
âDonât Charles me,â he said with as much fight he could manage. In truth he felt like shitâhe trembled with chills while at the same time sweating bullets and every muscle in his body ached at onceâbut somehow being told to go to bed made him defiant. âItâs Saturday, Iâm visiting Archie. Iâll rest when I come home.â
"Easy, cowboy. Unsaddle that horse. Like I said. You're not going anywhere." She's used to this terrible defiance at this point and honestly doesn't he know what he's getting himself into by arguing with her? A thin coiled around his wrist and she silently dragged him back to their room. "I'll have Archie come by here, okay? You need rest and lots of medication. No offense but you look awful and- as your girlfriend, it's my job to fix that. So take off those shoes and your jeans and lay down, for christ's sake."
âItâs been eventful to say the least. Like I said. I was in Africa for a while.â A small shrug was given before she rested her head on his shoulder lightly. âDo we really wanna do small talk or do we wanna eat and maybe make out a little after?â
âHmm, that last sounds goodâ, he chuckled leaning a grabbing a slice of pizza. âI worked as a delivery boy for a bit. I looked sexy in that uniformâ
She gave a quiet laugh and reached for her own slice happily. "Oh is that so? Well maybe you'll have to find a picture of it or something." A pause. "I worked as a barista but... Nothin' sexy about messy ponytails and coffee stained aprons."
"It's been eventful to say the least. Like I said. I was in Africa for a while." A small shrug was given before she rested her head on his shoulder lightly. "Do we really wanna do small talk or do we wanna eat and maybe make out a little after?"
Head tilting just slightly to the side, Sky listened carefully, nodding occasionally. A few years ago, if you had asked her any of this, she'd have laughed and denied any belief in it. Now? Well now anything was believable. For a moment she was silent until she was sure he had finished speaking at which point she finally spoke. "Doom, nothing surprises me anymore. Nothing."
"You thought of me?" Skylar was genuinely surprised. People didn't often think of her as far as she knew. In fact she didn't consider herself thought worthy most of the time. "I thought about you too... What have I missed. Fill me in. But first." She snuggled close into his side taking a long drink from her own bottle. "Okay. Now I'm ready."
âWell it looks good on you, truly.â she assured him, waiting till he was inside before closing the door again. âFood sounds beautiful. Get us set up in the living room and Iâll grab some drinks?â she offered, reaching up to ruffle his hair.
âY-yeah!â, he said. He smiled when she ruffled his hair. He walked towards the living room and set everything up.
She returned a few moments later, two bottles of beer in hand. "Figure we both could use one at this point in the day." she joked, settling in on the couch and motioning for him to join her. It was the weekend and Skylar was all too happy to be here with him. A break was what she needed. A break, attention, and maybe something else.
"Well it looks good on you, truly." she assured him, waiting till he was inside before closing the door again. "Food sounds beautiful. Get us set up in the living room and I'll grab some drinks?" she offered, reaching up to ruffle his hair.
