The Unfed has come to feast.
The Shadow Lurker's form is a collection of parts that do not belong together. It is an anomaly with no discernible form; its body parts appear disjointed in the shadows, making it virtually impossible to discern its specific shape.
It does not come for flesh. The Shadow Lurker comes for the odor of a life of no witnesses. Those who lived on the edges of life. Those whose phone is no longer ringing. Whose name is less spoken from those acquaintances. Those who rather cowers in the shadow than standing in the light.
It doesn't devour its victims or harm them. It gnaws at something else.
It feeds on identity.
Victims of Shadow Lurkers gradually "disappear" from their surroundings. People stop recognizing them, A coworker walks past their desk without a glance. A text message goes unanswered, not out of malice, but because the sender looks at the name and feels only a blank, fleeting confusion. Digital cameras fail to capture them, treating it as an error code; or simply a blank wall, a blindspot of the world
And the mirror, look at the mirror. Mirror do not lie.
It shows nothing.
The unfortunate victims of the "Man-Horse" always have one thing in common: they are completely alone in a space. It could be a bedroom, an office, a meeting room, or even alone in a park.
When night falls and the night is silent, the first sign is always a series of sounds emanating from under the bed. Initially, it's a suppressed, stifled giggle, as if someone is trying to hold their breath, interspersed with the dry, cracking sounds of bones breaking. Most victims choose to ignore it, reassuring themselves that it's just the neighbor's activities, the water pipes, or a faint sound echoing from the other side of the wall.
One mistake is that the victims then immediately check under their bed without turning on the light because they don't feel threatened by the clicking sound, thinking it's just mice moving.
Curiosity kills the cat. They bent down, shining the flickering light from their phone screens into the darkness under the bed without turning on the room lights.
And in that dim, bluish light, they saw it. A deformed creature with four thin, horse-like legs, but its neck was connected to the head of an upside-down man. On its gray face were goat-like eyes with horizontal, cloudy, asymmetrical pupils, each looking in a different direction. It laughed, a grotesque, convulsive, unnatural grin that ripped open its mouth, stretching up to its eye sockets, revealing jagged teeth and blood-red gums.
By that time, the sounds didn't stop. They became clearer, more distorted, and closer. The survivors of the first night described in horror that it wasn't a human voice. But it wasn't empty and soulless, like a parrot mimicking human speech without understanding the meaning of the words. It was a mocking and malicious laugh.
It seemed to whisper in the victim's ear: It knew they were there, or it knew their fate and found it amusing. The victim, terrified, screamed and immediately switched on the lights and ran out of the room. They hoped they were hallucinating, they hoped it was just a nightmare, they were just imagining things.
Then the real torture began. The victim panicked to the point of paranoia, even when they weren't alone. Even in a crowded environment, they always felt a cold gaze following them and heard that eerie, giggling laugh. From the dense foliage in the distance, from the edge of the rooftops of tall buildings, or even… right in the next corner of the room. Worse still, the victims refused to sleep, saying that every time they closed their eyes, they only saw that monstrous face in their minds, and they feared that while they slept, the beast would abduct them.
One victim, before disappearing, said he had seen the creature's face right next to his room, and then vanished immediately afterward.
Authorities questioned the surrounding residents; the only person who could describe the creature was a homeless, deaf, and mentally unstable man. He drew a monstrous creature with four grotesque legs on a piece of paper and gave it to the authorities.
The creature had strangely long limbs bent at unusual angles. Its neck was long and gnarled like a tree, yet twisted like a snake. Even more bizarre, it had the face of a man, with a grotesque smile that seemed to tear open his mouth. A few months later, the missing victims were found in a cave in the forest, their heads severed, their bodies broken and twisted into many pieces, piled up and intertwined like a nest. Many who saw the horrific scene turned away and vomited, some wishing they had never seen it.
A brave forensic officer ventured into the nest and discovered a slimy substance inside. Authorities dispatched a team of zoologists to investigate and found it to be horse blood and placentas.
The beast had just given birth.
The Plague Bird is an anomalous entity whose appearance precedes prolonged epidemics.
The epidemic will end sooner or later depending on whether its hunger is satisfied, as it primarily absorbs the despair and distress of humanity.
Plague birds typically have the body of a winged creature such as a crow, pigeon, or bat. The only distinguishing feature is its long, bandaged neck, with maggots crawling underneath.
However, upon closer observation reveals that these "bandages" are actually stretched pieces of creatures skin wrapped around it, with maggots moving underneath.
When someone is near Plague Bird’s domain, they can hear rattling cough, or a sound of a dying person. The appearance of a Plague Bird is also often preceded by an inexplicable, putrid stench, like the smell of death. The air around it becomes suffocating; those standing near the Plague Bird will feel heavy air, , their negative emotions will gradually overwhelm their mind, painful memories will surge in their thoughts, causing mental breakdown and their minds will be consumed by negative feelings. Consequently, those who are already ill will become even more ill, and no amount of medical intervention will be effective; they will gradually die in despair, while healthy people will gradually fall ill and eventually share the same fate as others. However, the Plague Bird is not the source of the epidemic; it only spreads hopelessness wherever it is presented, exacerbating the situation. Plague Bird acts like a cosmic parasite, prolonging the world's suffering to nourish itself with the despair and pain that engulfs humanity.
If you're walking alone on a rain-soaked street at exactly 12:04 AM, and you hear a child softly humming somewhere above you. You have encountered an entity call Balloon kid. Balloon kid is described as a kid-like figure, wearing a wet and dirty pajamas with a head of a balloon with wobbly drawing. Most survivors only remember the sound and never want to hear it again.
The survivors described the humming as a low, broken humming, like a lullaby being sung underwater. If the humming suddenly stops, it means it has already noticed you.
The victim is found standing still in the middle of the road with their heads tilted upward in an uncanny angle, mouth is filled with rain water. Autopsy declares that the victim is dead by drowning.
